My experience overall has been terrible. I purchased a modcloth dress for my daughter described as size 6. We buy from modcloth all the time and know her size- it was so tight she couldn't button it. I even had my other daughter try it, who is a size 4, she couldn't button it either. Since it was only $18 I wasn't too worried, I'll just give it to someone else. Next purchase was boots- seller never sent so poshmark cancelled. Next purchase was a lululemon top. I offered $5 less than asking price. Seller never responded and then saw she sold it to someone else for my asking price days later. Final straw- paid $40 for anthropologie dress that again was much smaller than described. This time I tried to return and was denied. So basically I've wasted $48. I'm done!
I use Poshmark all the time. I have never had a bad experience and always re3cieve what I was expecting. I love that you can bargain with the sellers and ask as many questions as you want before you buy. It's easy to use, your cc info is saved so you can just click buy when you are ready. No pressure! And I am always happy to get notified when the items I love are reduced.
I sold several items but resent the high fees. Every time I sell, I am not sure why the fees are high. Understand the technology is expensive but the fees should be lower. Women mostly want to sell, not enough buyers so you get 'bots' or weirdly anonymous profiles ( probably Poshmark staff) to buy from your closet. The only way to make real money is quantity and trends- the more you have in your closet the better. Also a lot of buyers are cheap driving price down below value, I made that mistake! Don't bargain with cheapies!
My first experience will be my last. Bought a bag described as excellent condition - however it is soooo old that the color is completely faded. After sending two sets of photos at their request, they decided I was wrong and kept my money - outrageous
Bought a used purse in "excellent condition." Received purse in "good condition." Visible marks on the purse was a deal breaker for me, especially for $155.00. Contacted "customer service" for refund. Took 2 days for them to notify me that they had to review my case and I also had to send pictures - what a joke! Then they offered me a $25 credit on their site to keep the purse. Um... No?! Then I had to wait another 2 days for them to approve my case. Not good customer service. Any company who gives customer hassle about returning an unsatisfactory item is not worth shopping with, IMO.
I bought a ring returned it. It was part of a trade that the seller refuses to return (a pair of Rayban sunglasses) saying they need PM to contact them. I even mailed stamps back to the seller to cover postage to return my glasses. The seller has now BLOCKED me. I am so frustrated and discouraged with the lack of customer service provided. There is no phone number to call for customer service or questions. My emails are ignored. As a buyer you have ZERO recourse. Stay as far away as you possibly can from the website. Learn a lesson from me being burned. If you ware looking for an honest company that sells AUTHENTIC LV or designer items fashionphile is awesome and at least eBay protects the buyer. I do not have one good thing to say about Poshmark.
I listed several designer handbags on here NWT for a low price since I work at one of their stores and get discount. People were offering me no more than 100 dollars for bags that sell for over 350-400 dollars. I was a top 10% seller on here and proved authenticity. I left Poshmark because of the lowball offers and people expecting expensive items for almost nothing.
This was a fun, easy to use site.
I found some lovely items, sold
Things I no longer wear.
Then the rules regarding retail selling
Were changed.
The site is now overrun with overpriced
Low quality Asian clothing & jewelry.
Sellers on Posh follow the 'buy it for $2 -
Sell it for $40' rule.
Save your $$$ & buy from the same places they do,
Ebay, Wish, Sammydress etc...
I am a seller on Poshmark but my review has nothing to do with that,-here are my honest thoughts: I started as a frequent buyer when I was shocked on so many awesome deals; but I had many unsatisfactory purchases- BUT, that is not Posh's fault- it was the poor sellers end OR mine for not clarifying all questions prior to purchase. Now with experience of what I look for when j buy I try to offer the best to my buyers. This app is great but ask all your questions ahead of time, make sure they respond before you purchase, verify tags and condition. Look at the reviews. Poshmark is also nothing like other apps it is UNIQUE and my absolute favorite aspect is the social part of it- it brings a whole new definition to online shopping and fashion. I think they charge a little much for commission but other than that- and timeliness in responses great- I think it can do great things.
A lot of the reviews on here are either raves or just giant rants. Poshmark is just a market place like eBay or Amazon with different sellers. Use common sense, ask questions check their about page, see how long it takes them to ship and if they've gotten any love note reviews. There are great sellers and their are bad sellers. Good sellers usually take time and effort to photograph their own pics that look clean or add the actual item to the stock pictures. Seriously people... It's like any other market place. If you use good common sense and ask questions and make sure to look at little cues of a good seller it's okay. Unfortunately there are a lot of bad sellers as well. What I do like about Poshmark is that it's super simple and easy to find what you're looking for.
Trying to return a fraudulant item is ridiculous. Their customer service sends out robotic emails in reply. Stay away from this site, as a lot of sellers misrepresent their items and the return process is unbelievable. I tried to get a fake Tiffany necklace returned, and I had to do more work then the seller to get it taken back.
I have just deleted my account after one year buying things. I purchased approximately 12 things, over half of the transactions were major problems. Two different purchases were mailed to wrong persons and I had to mail them their stuff. Three separate items went in the trash. Sellers don't respond to questions for days, delay shipping for days, sell dirty wore out wrong-sized items and sell things that are of less value with high priced flat shipping of $4.99! Bundled items are a joke where the sellers tell you it will take 2 shipments. Sellers call you rude in comments back and forward where others can read it when ask for measurements. I'm done with them and I've went back to eBay for good.
I signed up to see what this was. No such thing as customer service. I did not buy or confirm a purchase and was basically told too bad. After seeing other bad reviews, I would have never even checked out the site. Now I'm stuck with a so called purchase, and cannot reach anyone to resolve such a fraudulent transaction. Don't be fooled.
Be careful when using poshmark. My experience with this website has been good so far, but I have heard of many bad stories when it comes to this site. BEFORE you buy anything from a user, DO YOUR RESEARCH ON YOUR SELLER. Go through their closet, and make sure what their selling is legitimate. Also, go through their hearted comments, and see what type of comments people are leaving. Of they are only saying vague comments, the comments probably aren't from real customers. The really good tip I have learned from other skeptical customers is to MAKE SURE that there is a picture of the product BEING WORN. If it's just a stock photo of a model, that doesn't count. Make sure it's being worn BY THEM, so you can see the product is real. Overall, just be cautious on poshmark.
Had I seen all the bad reviews before hand I would have steered clear of this site. At this point I wish I had. I bought a north face jacket off the site that was tagged as being in like new condition. This was supposed to be a present for my daughter for Christmas. Why I received was a pair of used sweatpants. I immediately contacted customer service and was assured they'd fix the mix up and I'd get my jacket. That was on 12/17/15. As of this review 12/27/15 I still don't have the jacket and now they refuse to reply to my emails. There is no phone number I've been able to find. This company is a giant scam and should be shut down for defrauding people.
Love the great bargains I get in this web site. Easy to return. Always a social friendly site. It is fun and very friendly. Much better than eBay or others. Love second hand items. Lots of great prices for brand new designer stuff. Making friends is fun.
I had just started using posh mark and only had under 10 items in my closet. I listed a pair of Louboutins I had purchased from a high end resale shop. I took multiple photos and provided information about them. I wasn't even trying to make a profit on them. I only asked what I had paid for them, which was under $100. Aubrieholmes bought them and then opened a case against me saying I sold counterfeit shoes. Posh mark gave her a refund and sent me the shoes back and threatened me with suspension. They never heard my side nor did they ask me for any photos or proof. They automatically sided with the buyer and accused me of being dishonest. It was humiliating and degrading. I told them to close my account. I strongly advise not to use this business.
No other place will you find a middle man market that takes 20% of your profit. Ebay and amazon dont take anything but a fee for using their website. POSHMARK DEMANDS YOU PAY THEM 20% OF YOUR PROFIT. To put this in respective terms. They will take 40 dollars when you price an item at 200. That leaves you with 160 profit for an item worth 10x the amount you are already selling at a discount. Large corporations and business deals dont even make percentage cuts that big, and when they do, they are marked as thieves all over the news! Dont play into their gimic. They are a million dollar company who wants to take even more.
I like the site but the costumer service has creepy mafia style tactics. They resort to harassment if they want you to do something. However, if you need assistance they often go MIA. Honestly, most people stop using the site because of this which is why I am deactivating my account as well. If anyone were to create a service that is similar but with more customer support, it would be incredibly successful.
When you sign up use code JQAQA and you will automatically get 10 dollars off your first purchase! They have everything, and you can negotiate proces! Fashion forward with all the couture brands of clothing, shoes, bags, makeup and more!
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
