I love everything about Poshmark except the shipping costs. Time to boycott it til they offer more options. Seriously, $6.49 no matter what item?! Ridiculous. No one wins. Buyers pay more. Sellers sell less. And the company wastes money.
BUYER BEWARE! I'm surprised this company doesn't have a class action lawsuit against them! They keep items posted that they know are no longer available, tell you the saler has 5 days to ship & if they don't you can't even request to cancel your order until after 7days then it takes customer service a few days to respond then another cple days before you receive a refund! So postmark has your money sitting collecting interest on it for about 2weeks! One thing to watch for is if you notice the comments are from months ago on a item do not buy! It's no longer available!
I have been buying and selling on eBay for years and have had very few negative experiences. I only approximately 100 transactions as a Buyer on Poshmark, and I have been burned more than I have been pleased. First, the shipping is ridiculous. A three-ounce necklace costs $2.61 to ship First Class. Poshmark charges $6.49. For everything. Second, there is ZERO quality control. The descriptions are vague, which should not be allowed, forcing customers to ask a slew of questions before evening making an offer/purchase. If I had the time to wait for Sellers to get back to me, I would not be shopping online: If I see something I like, I want to purchase it then. I have received a slew of tarnished pieces of jewelry--that I pay double to ship (vs. EBay) and receive half as nice of quality. Third, there is no way to speak privately to Poshers. Everything is public, which gets awkward. I also wish you could add a comment to the offers, explaining why something might seem like a low-ball offer. I have had Sellers block me for asking a legitimate question. Who does that? Finally, there is no way to get a partial refund if you'd rather keep a damaged item that you'd prefer to keep but for a lesser price (e.g., I bought a necklace that I had to get fixed!). I spend thousands online each month, and Poshmark will not be getting another dime of my hard-earned money. There are a slew of options; spend your money elsewhere.
I keep seeing reviews of people on posh complaining" "it took months for my item to arrive and when it did it was too small..." Ok--number one, you did NOT wait months for anything from Poshmark. Plain and simple. Sellers are required to ship within one WEEK or the buyer can cancel the transaction--and if much goes past a week, POSH cancels it. So that's total BS. Number two, it is very clearly stated in the guidelines that you are to ask questions about size and seek measurements from the seller BEFORE you buy. Its a no returns site--always has been--unless something is misrepresented or fake, etc. If you are too lazy to ask a seller to give you measurements for an item you're buying at a heavily discounted price, then don't be mad when it arrives and does not fit you. Jeez... some people just want to FIND something to complain about. Poshmark is GREAT, and has been an excellent and supportive place for me and many other women to succeed in business on our own terms. Those of you who have such problems--maybe look inward. Many of us are quite happy and have no issues at all adhering to the very simple app guidelines.
First off, shipping went up because shipping went up at the post office. So many whiners and people that don't pay attention. I get free boxes, the mail person comes and picks my stuff up and it gets there in a couple of days. I love that. And as a buyer, I verify everything before I buy. You can ask questions in the comments and there is your documentation that the seller told you correct information. If it's not what they told you, poshmark can go look at those communications. The only thing that bothers me is that some people will give you a bad rating just because they didn't like it after they got it but instead of just sending it back they give you a low rating. There's the same issues as there are with any of these sites. People are either decent and honest or they are turds. You have to be smart, plain and simple. As for fake items, there much more fakes on Mercari. Poshmark has way more class.
It's just not worth selling used clothing, getting more and more boutique/China import friendly. Shipping rise and fees are too hight, poor costumer service!
DO NOT BUY HERE UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO AUTHENTICATE WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. I SEE MORE FAKE BAGS, FAKE JEWELRY, FAKE MAKEUP THAN REAL ONES. SELLERS CLAIM ITEMS ARE REAL WHEN ITS CLEAR THEY ARE NOT. IF YOU COMMENT OR ASK IF ITEM IS REAL, POSH SENDS EMAILS THREATENING TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT. YOU CAN REPORT AND ITEM AS FAKE BUT POSHMARK WILL NEVER REMOVE IT. THEY ASK THAT "YOU SIMPLY SKIP OVER THE ITEM AND NOT BUY IT". THE SALE OF FAKE ITEMS IS ILLEGAL AND THEY ARE ALLOWING IT, DUE TO THE SIMPLE FACT THAT THEY GET 20% OF ALL SALES. THEY KNOW HALF THE ITEMS BEING SOLD ARE FAKE, SO IF THEY STOPPED THAT, THEY WOULD LOSE OUT OF THAT 20%. SHADY SHADY UNSAFE SITE
The size of the shoe is rarely in the title so you have to go through the entire brand and look for your particular size at is extremely annoying. And anyone who takes a picture of their own feet with their toenails tattoos excetera it's ugly and I bypass it immediately.
Poshmark USED to be really great. It was a fun concept, being able to find items no longer sold in stores or something you specifically need instead of browsing, you can narrow it down. That's one thing I love about online shopping. I don't mind buying used if it's massively discounted. Anything washable! But they're starting to become very greedy. Shipping keeps going up and up. With each increase, I sucked it up and just paid for it. A few days ago I bought an item with $5.99 shipping. I check back today and it's once again increased to $6.49 this time. I'm sorry, but this is where I draw the line. Shipping is more expensive than some items and it's ridiculous to pay that much for a tiny chiffon tank or something that could weigh an ounce! They should at least give us a choice. Most of us would happily wait a few weeks and save a few bucks. I will no longer be looking to expand my wardrobe on poshmark, but maybe to find a rare item I can't find anywhere else, other wise it's not worth it because of the outrageous shipping.
I have bought and sold many items on poshmark and when anything went wrong, for example a package got stolen at the post office, they refunded the buyer in full and paid me in full for the item. I also filed a claim with the post office and got another $30 on top of what poshmark paid me, they offer free authentication for items over $500, sometimes it takes customer service a few days to get back to you but they eventually do. I have made $2,900 in the last year from selling on here and that's after they took their 20% commission fee, which is kinda high in my opinion but I won't complain cause I sell there more than any other apps like vented or Mercari and can pretty much find anything I'm looking for on there as well for a fraction of the price. I would definitely recommend Poshmark!
Never had a problem with postmark ever. Until today. Had a user send me fake uggs. Were not *******@lehman12 never buy anything from her she is a scammer
Poshmark should be amazing but it's not. Shipping is absolutely outrageous. Why am I paying $6.49 for something that weighs 3 ounces? Also the app is not friendly or fast why can't I add all my pictures at once? I'm glad all these new platforms are launching like fashion stash, Vinted, etc. so everyone can move away from posh and stop getting ripped off
I've sold and bought on PoshMark for three years. Recently, I purchased a 14k cross cross ring, but when I received the ring, it was stamped. 925. I've sent several emails to PoshMark and even called their voice mail, but I have yet to receive a response back to resolve my issue. I reached out to the seller, who assured me the ring is real, but I took the ring to a jewerler and she confirmed the ring is not 14k. Very upset and disappointed. I will not purchase from PoshMark again! Buyer beware Poshmark does not offer live customer service.
When I started buying and selling on Poshmark the shipping was reasonable, $4.95. It went up a dollar last year. They just announced that it's going up again to $6.49! That is so rediculous. I understand that you get 1-3 day shipping but I think at this point we should have a choice of shipping method. This is going to affect everyone's sells because shipping is now more than some of the items. Makes me sad but I think I'm done buying with Poshmark.
Improvements need to be made as far as communication between buyer and seller as well as improve shipping times.
Sellers should have a visible rating with feedback on their pages (one could argue that buyers should as well). Sellers have 7 days to ship an item and for that time period you are in the dark. Even when it ships you have to wait a few days to get notification from USPS with your tracking number. It's a long, tedious waiting period. If ratings for seller were visible, shipping times and consistent service would improve.
I'd highly recommend staying away from buying from Poshmark. I tried a couple different times, thinking if I bought from a different seller. However, I've been very disappointed in the items (poor condition, fake items, & no return/complaint process via Poshmark). I've deleted the app & will not buy from again. I bought a Kate Spade bag, only to receive it & it was a fake. The Kate Spade label fell right off. And most of the sellers are selling items well above the price you could go to the store & purchase it for. What I believe started out as a good idea has turned in to a complete rip off.
I bought a pair of Birkenstock Papillio sandals on this site. I have bought many shoes from many internet sites comfortably, because I sold "Euro" shoes for years. When I recieved them the toe hold would have fit Sasquatch, it was 4' around. I wrote Poshmark and sent photos thinking they would give me a credit in the very least. They wrote me back with "no deal". Paypal would back me but I would have to pay shipping to return them. I will have them repaired (which is not as good as new) for around $45.00. Add that to the $35.95 I payed for the sandals, plus my frustration = never again, Poshmark is not internet friendly... and the price of the sandals after repair (and hope they last a while) I could have bought a "tried and true" new pair.
STAY AWAY! What is a clothing site on line that does not accept returns! All sizes are not the same on different clothes. You will loose your money! I can't make it more clear!
I have ordered three blouses from Poshmark in my size. They took months to arrive and though the sizes marked were correct, none of the blouses fit. They were at least three sizes too small. They also did not look like the pictures, and one of them never arrived at all. Poshmark isn't a business, it's a scam.
I recently purchased a watch from Poshmark. When I received it, it did not work. I took it to the jewelers to see if it just needed a battery. The jeweler said the back could not be opened to replace the battery. The watch was $125. Poshmark said there were no returns or exchanges but they would offer me $20 on my next purchase. Next one? No thank you.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
