I have been on Poshmark since September of 2015. I have sold numerous items, most of which earned 5 star reviews. I recently sold a dress I bought from The Limited for $6 to this person who filed a claim about it saying "it's not as described". I was furious with the claim as I thoroughly inspected the dress and found nothing significant wrong with it (there was a small snag that was denoted by the "near perfect" condition). I am assuming the clowns that run this site are going to side with this fool who begged me to lower the price. I will be deleting my closet after I get this claim reviewed.
Got a pair of Jo's Jeans. Apparently they were hemmed really short. Ask for refund and sent a picture in. They still ran the credit card and asked for more pictures. No refund. Poor service and no protection for buying.
I've been selling on Poshmark since January of 2015 and have come across some scammers. However, last week I sold my Michael Kors Satchel to a buyer and upon arrival she claimed that the MK FOB was not on the handbag. I purchased the handbag from a retail store. The person who purchased the handbag did not have listings and there is no way to identify the person other than through Poshmark. Now, Poshmark is returning my authentic bag without it's FOB! I am coming off this site after this and several other close calls with scammers and closets selling fake MKs, LVs, KSpades and the like!
So I've been wanting a certain pair of shoes for along time but the price was just out of my range until one day I came a crossed them on "Poshmark" for just the right price so super excitedly I whip out my prepaid visa and purchase them the website claims 3-7 days shipping so I wait and wait a week goes by and my order still says "processing" another week goes by and no change when I email them they say I'm sorry we could not get ahold of the seller you can cancel if you like and wait 1-30 days for your money back thanks Poshmark for nothing but disappointment seriously take the old ads that haven't been updated OFF your website so people don't have to experience disappointment it really sucks when you think your getting what you've wanted for along time just to be let down and on top of it out of your money til god knows when! Really scared to order from them again and considering deleting the app
I've decided to thin out my closet, and thought this would be a fun way to do it. I'm not really there for the $$ but, it's nice have a bit of cash for little things now and agin that I find interesting. Also, one of my father's clients is in the habit of paying him in high priced fashion items from their stores, and he gives me things. Much of it is too big, I have really small feet, or things I'm terrified of using for fear of destroying. They own a consignment store I think, as most of it is gently used. So, I put this up at Posh. So far, so good with the selling. I made over $400. Granted, I price with shipping in mind, plus the fact that I myself haven't paid for the high priced items I'm putting up. It's just for fun for me really. I've even redeemed $300 of it to my bank account without a problem, and kept $100 there for buying things that interest me.
Buying is where things get hairy there. I've learned to stay out of the boutiques, as quality is poor. Also learned to read comments of sold items, and love notes. From someone's closet, I got a Michael Kors phone case that was exactly as described, and I love. From a boutque I got a dress that looked nothing like the pics in terms of quality. They deleted my love note review as well, when I complained as well, when I complained a bit. READ COMMENTS as love notes can be deleted. As a private closet seller, I rely to questions asked, and I point out the flaws in anything that I'm selling. You buy from people like that, I think you'll be fine.
Like so many people on this page, I went through the countless emails of describing my problem. There is no phone or chat so you can readily get things taken care of. It is a long waiting process to get a problem taken care of. I ordered shoes from an irresponsible, incompetent seller who couldn't even get the package scanned at the post office. Even with the USPS website available and it stating no package for them to ship, I still had to wait 19 days to get my refund. Here is the happy note, they just as of today refunded my money for this horrible experience. With that being said I would like to express my sincere empathy to all the people on this website that never got refunds and were taken for even more money than they gave consent to. I think it overall boils down to the seller you choose. There is no rating system that I can see for sellers with feedback so you know if these people are okay or not. Oh, also of note, my seller was able to somehow block my messages so I could not correspond with them.
In the end, however, I gave them a 3-star review because they did do the professional thing and refund my money to Paypal, the ordeal it was.
Maybe they will implement more suitable criteria for sellers. But I'm taking my account down.
I am closing my closet because the platform has drastically changed. I keep my prices very real. Brand new, very current denim is under 20.00... but, if you follow any poshmark Facebook page you will see that so many women aim to actually make a living doing this. Boutiques are now everywhere and they are ridiculously overpriced and the inventory is exactly the same. Quality is poor, poor, poor. If I see one more pair of legging paired with a cold shoulder tunic, I think I'll puke! The site experiences frequent hacks and banking info is compromised along with credit card fraud being rampant. Customer service is overseas, so any support takes 48-72 hrs and is mostly copy and paste responses due to the language barrier... not at all helpful. I really feel your best bet is still in retail shopping. You get excellent customer service and if you don't you can resolve issues on the spot. I'm no longer a fan and feel it's cashing in on the ease of online shopping that leads to over shopping, that leads to money problems that leads to desperate women needing to resell their clothing... or shopping remorse that causes people to then destroy items and open claims for a refund... it's filled now with scamming and unethical shoppers. NOT WORTH IT.
Don't sell on here, I entered my correct routing number and account number to my baking account and never received a penny I earned. This is such a horrible scam. Very disappointing.
First purchase was a great experience... made an offer, it was accepted... shipped out next day. 3 days later it arrives... little short on quality but it served its purpose. 2nd offer was accepted... 4 days it still hasn't shipped. 10 minutes after my purchase my email gets hacked! I go looking the next day, another guy has same listing with exact same pictures... it was a watch, the times were even the same... I asked him if he really has it he said yes but have yet to see it. I still give it one last try thinking maybe just a scammer but whatever. Made offer on a 3rd item, accepted... the NEXT day get a cancellation with no explanation... had to ask why... she accidentally hit accept. I had already told the person that I got it for they were going to get their wish... then tell them no... I'm sorry not shopping here again,,.
This is almost no different than shopping on eBay, Etsy, etc. The shipping is expensive. And the seller doesn't get payment until you, as the buyer, click through your profile that you got the item safely.
I have only bought things twice on this site and I'm not very fond of the site. I don't recommend it.
Seller misrepresented men's shirt size. Tried to return an Poshmark would not allow a legitimate complaint. Do not buy from any one on this site!
I used the site to purchase and sell items at a steep (Poshmark gets 20% of your sale) price and the shipping continues to increase! I sold 2 pair of jeans recently and never received my payment. Ive sent SEVERAL emails with no response! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME-TOTAL SCAMS!
Purchased a dress on 2/25/17, never received it or any word at all from anyone. Had to contact customer service twice, took them a WEEK to get back to me, then an email how I can cancel. So I did. Supposedly they will refund my money "in a couple days". We'll see. At least it was only $14.00. It's a shame, it could be a great site for clothing purchases/sales but never again for me!
I love this app, I have been using it for years and have made over 1,000 sales. The best way to avoid issues is to read and understand Poshmark's rules and policies. Follow the directions for contacting them. Be patient for the response. Don't sell fakes. Ask questions before purchase. Don't take transactions offline. Check sellers love notes and average ship times, and ask if item is available before making purchase. If they don't respond, move on! Or else your money may be tied up until you can cancel 7 days later!
App works fine, but if you have questions, or an issue with an order, or anything for that matter don't expect support. It is not an exaggeration that say this is the worst customer support system ever experienced. What a shame because it's a good concept, but Custer service, frustrating, not timely, not clear, doesn't read the request or issue... the worst, save yourself some frustration, use eBay.
My first order and my daughter wears a size 10 Tory Burch shoe. When we got the shoes they were size 11. Too big, but denied return!
I've sold a few things on Poshmark, and everything went fine. BUT when I've tried to buy on Poshmark, it didn't work out as well. The first time I tried to buy a pair of boots and was immediately refunded my money with no response or explanation why. The second time, I got a pair of boots that smelled so bad I had to keep them outside (my grandmother was a hoarder and things that came out of her house also smelled this way). Every time I submitted the form for a refund, I got the same form letter email back, but no refund or return shipping label. That was $96.
Waste your time with follows you did not make and with no sales potential. Stupid website and app with annoying feminist comments. Why does poshmark even exist?
I shipped my beautiful Louis Vuitton artsy
I never got paid
Can't talk to anyone
They keep sending me the same old generic email

I think i got scammed
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
