Our recent trip on LUCY was magical. The team from Portland Roads briefing, support and guidance was exceptional. The comfort of Lucy made our holiday very relaxing. We would highly recommend Portland Roads if you want to sail and explore the whitsundays.

JUST AWESOME!
September 27, 2018

JUST AWESOME! I had so much fun... and with perfect weather gifting us with a good breeze, we had the sails up and enjoyed the tranquility that only the ocean can give. The cabins were roomy and comfortable and there is nothing as peaceful as being in a calm anchorage at night looking out of my hatch at the stars and feeling a world away from everyone. The food was devine. Fresh fruit, real coffee and restaurant style food made this trip unbeatable. Everyone was engaging and couldn't do enough to make my trip so comfortable and so much fun. I will do it again and recommend this charter as a great way to visit the Whitsunday Islands.

We are just back from a 5 night sail on the Due West, booked via Luxury Escapes. Stop looking around and just go with these guys. Their service is AAA+ from start to finish. The boat was in fantastic condition, like new, everything you need to cook and live on board is there for you. Deano will talk you through the sailing but we were inexperienced sailors and spent 98% of our time on the motor. Petrol was only $140. Just listen to Deano about where and when to swim and the best spots to visit. You can't go wrong and you'll have the trip of a lifetime. We can't wait to come back. Thanks Deano and Portland Roads.

What a great part of the world; and what a great company to charter with in the Whitsundays. We LOVED our boat œPortland Roads and we recommend this holiday AND this company to everyone. So much fun! Not enough stars to rate this as our favourite holiday ever. It deserves more than 5 stars. And for anyone thinking they cant do this, Mike will teach you the ropes and is there for you every step of the way with great ideas for places to go. Next time, can we please order some dolphins. Thanks again

A wonderful 10 days sailing the Whitsundays on Portland Road. The boat is spacious and easy to sail when you get familiar with it. The galley is well equipped although leave space in the fridge to ensure they reach a cold temperature. The boat is air conditioned but this doesnt function well enough in the cabins to keep them at a comfortable temperature during hot summer nights, but this wouldnt be an issue in the cooler months. Without air conditioning the port cabins can be a little stuffy. There was constant support from the team on the twice daily checkins. This was a great experience

Had a wonderful time on Ruby Sunday with 3 other couples. The Whitsundays is a most beautiful place, and being able to spend time in the secluded and sheltered bays and inlets, while snorkelling and fishing was a real experienced that ticked off a long standing bucket list item. The Portland Roads team in Mike and Deano offered us all the help and assistance we needed, while not being too intrusive into our daily activities. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. The Ruby Sunday was to operate and the sailing easy once the crew had completed the rudimentary sailing training, as most had never sailed before.

I would like to thank John, Mike & the team@ Portland Roads for helping provide the greatest experience that my family & I have ever had! The boat and support was second to none and we are busy preparing our next adventure aboard the Portland Roads sailing the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Having little experience with sailing we were a little concerned how our adventure would pan out, however, with the expert tuition provided and a boat that provided every creature comfort of home we were left not wanting the holiday to end! Put this on youre bucket list guys, you wont be disappointed! Julian Pearce

Cruising around the beautiful Whitsundays in Portland Roads was one of the best holiday experiences. Portland Roads has fantastic facilities and plenty of room. The beds are very comfortable and spacious. We were able to visit many beautiful spots in the Whitsundays thanks to our wonderful skipper John! John exceeded expectation and was the best skipper anyone could ask for! Definitely a must do trip!

We had an absolutely fabulous experience when we had our week away on board Portland Road's Lucy last week. Lucy is an incredible craft - luxurious, well maintained, and extremely comfortable, whether at anchor or under full sail on a windy day in choppy seas! We had an awesome time and thoroughly enjoyed sailing, motoring and living aboard her. Deano was our briefer and he too was exceptional. Highly recommended - WE would LOVE to do it again!

What a fantastic 5 Days on Portland Roads Lagoon 420 Sailing Catamaran "LUCY" the 7 of us girls had. It's a great boat, very easy to sail, well set out and made it even more enjoyable for us to relax in the perfect weather we had. Having the expertise knowledge from Deano explain how to operate the vessel, give us thorough instructions for the daily routines involved in the boats operations made it so much easier for us.We are already planning our next trip! And will certainly be letting others know what a great experience we had. Thank you to all who contributed in make our trip such a pleasurable one.

An excellent experience, thank you to Mike for the great briefing and assisting us on the leg to Hamilton Island. The boat set up and advice on where to visit on our sailing adventure was excellent. We started out as six novices and after just five days on the water we are feeling pretty confident with basic sailing and would love to do it again. Id highly recommend a sailing holiday on Portland Roads for a group of six to eight people. A basic knowledge of sailing would be an advantage. Thanks again, well be back. BZ, Ÿ‘Ÿ‘

What an unforgettable experience. The relaxed, friendly and professional service from Mark was 5 star. We felt very confident as we sailed out of the Marina after Marks thorough induction and sailing training. Knowing that we would hear from him twice a day was reassuring. Couldn't recommend this experience more highly. Wish we were still there. Dave and Andy & Co

From the business

In short, we give you one of our million-dollar boats;
You’ll grab up to 8 family and friends to join you (loosely called your crew).

Then for as little as $199 per person, per sailing day, you will become the skipper and sail the Ngaro Waters and Islands of the Whitsundays (74 islands, but who’s counting?)

For 6 days / 5 Nights you will live in and on the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.

You will slip into Whitsundays time where your week with us will feel more like the most relaxing month of your life. You will live aboard one of our Lagoon Sailing Catamarans, sipping bubbles at sunset and cooking up a storm in the galley.
You will leave as a new custodian of our extraordinary reef and realise that adventure still lives in us all – No experience is necessary!
