We have just returned from a fantastic 5 nights aboard the Lucy. Absolutely fantastic experience. Deano ran through everything after boarding and made sure we were familiar with the operation of the vessel. He was always contactable for suggestions as to route and other issues that cropped up. The Lucy has everything you could need for a comfortable cruise, and each bedroom with its own bathroom was an appreciated luxury! Highly recommend taking up the early boarding and late departure options - the facilities at the marina were very welcome after our cruise, and we didnt feel time pressure to board and unpack. Can also recommend Fishi for seafood - excellent service and advice, and they delivered to the marina the morning of our departure. As two families with young children and minimal boating experience - we couldnt fault Portland Roads and the Lucy. We are already thinking about another trip... Thanks again.

From the booking through to boarding was seamless. The boat was in exceptional condition and everything worked perfectly.

The trip was thought through to ensure we saw all the highlights and were in calm conditions every night. We swam with turtles and saw heaps of coral and fish. This was the best holiday we have ever had. I would recommend Portland Road to anyone. Very easy and top class.

What just happened? That was amazing. I tagged along with a mate, not really knowing what l was getting in to! What an eye opener. From the natural beauty of the Whitsundays, to how well this company does everything. The history, the indigenous stories and their efforts to help the Reef. I'm a little embarassed that l found this on my back door step and never would have gone without my mates invitation. Portland Roads was such a beautiful boat. You can see and feel the care and attention to detail. I learnt to sail and have never had such an opportunity to just kick back and relax. I loved the effort they've gone to in gently reminding us that we can all do so much more to help the orb we live on. You'll be seeing me and my family next time. Thanks everyone, ***.

Anybody considering a bareboat trip to the Whitsunday Islands should use Portland Roads. We chartered Southern Man and this was the most beautiful catamaran that I have sailed. It had plenty of space and storage, easy to use sails, auto pilot and plenty of fuel, water and energy. Mark Mcpherson was excellent as our briefer and made us feel confident and at ease with the boat. He also assisted with transfers and the use of his van for the pick up of provisions. He facilitated our scheduled call ins and provided advice on weather and entry to bays and coves. I can't recommend Mark Mcpherson and Southern Man enough. Easily the best bareboat charter opportunity in the Whitsundays. Well done on making our trip one to remember.

Incredible experience on Portland Roads! Portland Roads is a luxury catamaran immaculately fitted out like a five-star hotel on water. It's a lot easier to drive/operate than what we thought as you have all the sat nav and depth sound equipment and you need not put up the sails if your not confident, but it's awesome if you do. We were surprised how little fuel we used, so no problem if you dont wish to use the sails. We loved the barbecue at the back of the boat and the large spacious outdoor/undercover dining area where you could enjoy being one with nature whilst dining in your secluded remote-like setting in whatever inlet or bay you decided to moor/anchor in. Our suite was immaculate and comfortable with a skylight above the bed and ensuite. Fully-equipped kitchen and plenty of fridge/freezer space. The owner and his staff were super awesome, with communication and the whole booking/briefing process was made very easy for us.We saw plenty of dolphins, turtles, sting rays, giant trevally and plenty of other marine Life. One gets many great experiences on a trip like this from sitting up on the deck at night in your soft portable cushy deck lounges, staring in awe at the billions of stars, with cold beers and great friends.
