The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

Amarillo and surrounding areas are about >>>>>Somehow people are fooled like myself into thinking, hoping that POF would be a more kind gentle place to meet people NO, NOPE, and NOWAY!
80% are just looking for a hookup and the other 20% for a place to live. I'm serious. RUN RUN NOW! AS FAST AS YOU CAN
I went through jerks, pervs, one ok relationship and a few more jerks before finding a man that I talk to for a week, met dated a week fell in love and less than 6 months of dating got engaged! I am happily in love with this man just as we both gave POF one last chance. It takes failed relationships but so does relationships not found online.
There's nothing on this site that I wouldn't find in real life. I admit most guys are shallow or liars, some are just nasty or already have a woman. Great site for cheaters, but not for good people like me. Still trying though, because meeting people in real life takes too long.
I can't blame POF, but I was on for about 1 week and was contacted by a male that seem like a dream come true. Out of curiosity I searched the web for anything that may be out there for him. Totally frustrated, I put in his listed occupation and a scam site came up that had the exact wording this man used. I have since been hit by 5 more scammers. They end up asking for money. POF was one of the top dating sites used by male and female scammers. What sucks, is you have to be a member on these sites to report them. I reported him to POF and did not get a response. The women scammers are under stopscammers.com. I find, men want trophies on their arms and sex, no regard for the female's needs. But I can't blame POF, we just need to use caution putting ourselves out there. Oh I'm still out there, just a lot wiser.
I wanted to place an ad on this site. I submitted my ad and paid the money. They emailed me back saying that my ad was not accepted and would not refund my money. They told me that is their policy. That's called theft in my books. Don't pay these guys a dime for advertising or membership.
Nothing but a scam, no one ever replies and you have to pay to find out who wants to meet you. I wanted to find a girl to talk to that would allow a gentlemen as my self to show them how a lady should be treated, and not treated like a sex object by many men as many do. I just want to find me a lady that I can talk to and will give me a chance to show her that not all men just want to hit it and quit it but actually want to know them and build something special together. On POF that will not happen apparently!
I have been happily using for a few years. Now all of a sudden my password is wrong? When i try to reset my email naddy doesnt exist on there system. How to contact help? Well you can't ffs
Here a lot of guys were pro gun and country like. Well, a lot also expressed no fat girls or women of color. Same with the men of color. So, I looked out of town and landed in Texas. So I told my mom ( mind you I'm thick, didn't lie and I am pretty. And I have a good career, never divulge that) I was going to Texas to meet him. Family was great we are still cool. But he looked disappointed when he met me... he was way bigger than portrayed. So he drops me. Then we get back together... the fifth time I go to TX all the truth comes out. And he doesn't want to care for himself... no way. One good thing, But I'm moving there because I love the city! 2.5 million people, I better find a date! Six month rule always applies! Good luck people.
I joined POF on the 10th of Sept and upgraded. I had met several people and a mutual interest existed. We made appointments for tentative dates. THEN - - on the 13th of the month while I was exchanging msgs with a friend, she suddenly noticed odd questions asked of her and that I would never ask her. The person asked for her phone# and address saying he had lots it. Sadly she gave it to him.
She called me and I checked my profile. Some guy had posted his pics to MY account, he then contacted well over 100 women (at last count) he then changed MY Date of birth to his, MY location to his (in another country) changed work and income status, Then MY name to his. I tried to contact POF "Customer Care" and wrote very polite letters (3) asking them to help. Finally I could not even access my own account at all! He had changed the password and eventually the user name! That was three days ago. I still have not heard a word from POF! ***This guy now has MY name, phone, address, photo's, e-mail info, credit card info and anything else I provided POF with.**** Apparently they are not concerned. But he has contacted several people I know as personal friends and got some of their into as well. My integrity is at risk, my personal ID, my credit score, etc. ALL potentially gone!
A company with concern for their clients personal information and safety would take ALL necessary actions to prevent this crime and protect the client. POF doesn't even call or write you back. The first two days I was happy with them... NOW - I URGE YOU TO STAY COMPLETELY AWAY FROM THEM and yes legal ramifications are in the works as I write this.
This site will only let you contact people it thinks you should be interested in. If your unable to communicate with people you would honestly be interested in chatting with, why go to this site at all. Oh, so they can pad their numbers on the "amount of people who use their site". You will have better luck on a phone app.
I had luck meeting a man from Pof in 2009. Relationship last for yrs until it recently ended. I thought try again in 2018 finding luck on Pof. Now Pof is becoming plenty of trash. Some of the member quality is slipping. Too many men uses lazy meet me, instead of writing a message. Meet me is useless, unless you pay to view meet me. Men are after sex or want women to give them money. Some of the good men left.
Half the men have a nothing on profile or writing "just ask." Half the men lie about their age. Some men are actually in late 40s-50s lying about their age from photos. There are same members with same photos. Even members uses cut and copy messages of tired lines.
The same day I created an account, Pof deletes the account hours later. You cannot sign in, because PoF block email -- no one couldn't re-create another account. Good part is that I'm glad that I didn't paid to upgrade my account.
Impossible to contact PoF pursuant to a hack of my paid account. If you NEVER have a question or problem, PoF is probably OK. Hacked and username stolen *******. Lost all my contacts, communications, etc. PoF response to multiple emails = none. Had to open a new account... do not pay! Use a search engine to read about PoF hacks. Lots of them. Apparently, hackers can obtain your bank info if you paid for a membership.
If you're male, they will block you without notice, citing offensive behavior, I've always been polite. Have noticed after seeking who is in my area, all females who have said pretty offensive things, offering sex for money (even written in their profiles), insults about your looks (wtf? I'm not judgmental but you should see some of these women), are allowed to continue membership whereas men are blocked without reason. If you have met someone nice, they will block you before you can exchange numbers. Due to their policy, if you ask for contact info, they will block you, too. So what's the point? They keep your photos after they ban you, too. Most depressing and loathsome dating site I've ever seen.
Seemed like a fake site. The site would try to convince me that certain women were a match. When I'd message them, I wouldn't even get responses back. And if I did, it was it they were high on something. I couldn't even understand the response. And despite telling the site I wasn't interested in some women, they would keep putting them back into my yes/no folder. I wrote POF about this and got nothing but a staged answer back. Not will administered at all.
POF has finally hit rock bottom, After implementing age restrictions, photo restrictions and losing functionality in general, they have recently removed the interest search, and changed emails to block the user name of people who would like to meet you. The site has lost pretty much all of it's functionality, and it would be great for its next replacement to come along to put POF out of business, with all the great features POF had in the beginning.
I have really read some dumb reviews on here. Some guy moves in with a lady after three weeks and then SHE complains? Somebody else gave some girl he barely knows a $35,000 credit line? None of this is POFs fault. You could have met the person in a bar or ball game and still gotten the same results.
COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!
As for me, I met my current wife on this site. Married in 2010. We just had our six year anniversary.
I went out on a date with my future fiancé after meeting him on here. I had talked to a few other men on here, but had not gone on a date with any yet. It was nice to be able to weed through what I was looking for in a person before talking to them/him. I met my current fiancé in October 2010. We hit it off immediately. We moved in together a year later, had a baby in 2014, and got engaged May 2015! I wanted to try pentyoffish first because it was free and was skeptical about paid dating sites. I'm glad I did!
The downside: At first, I was bombarded with e-mails from men. Most probably wanted a hook up and others were not at all what I was looking for. A lot of them wanted to meet up immediately when I wanted to take my time getting to know and trusting a person before meeting them off of the internet.
Note** I used the free membership and didn't pay a penny.
Guess being chocolate means you get matched with all the fat, jobless white f#$#s
I'm a decent guy. I'm kind. I'm not unattractive, but don't consider myself to be superior.
But, the women on here are, for the most part, scary!
Enough with the tattoos, Harleys, no teeth and no education.
I signed up for fun yesterday. The damn site won't let me delete my profile yet because it hasn't been 24 hours since I signed up.
The women who contacted me were angry at life, about men and frankly, in my part of the states, disgusting! Maybe it's different in other places geographically... but from the majority of reviews here, many are experiencing the same thing.
I don't go out to bars. So, it's time to join some local activities and meet some real people! This site is just... FRIGHTENING! I'm going to try to delete my account again. I can't get out quickly enough!
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes its possible
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
