This site is a joke and you should stay far far away from it. I am sure that some of the people on it are real but most are not. I had one profile hijacked by some woman in Australia and I got more messages in two minutes then I had gotten in all the years I was on that site. My phone was blowing up and then I saw that they were all men and I knew I got hacked. It took weeks for them to figure out how to help and they concluded I should set up a new profile, yeah the help department is weak over there. No phone number for customer service and I swear the emails I got from them were bots.
So a couple of weeks before my upgraded status ran out I changed my profile, and said the site was full of fake profiles and I give up. I didn't a single view for my last two weeks on the site. Now that I am a standard member I see they changed the site so you can't see who viewed you at all now the last time they changed you could only see the last three people that viewed you. So now the money grab is complete. Correction you can still send a message for free.
Now lets talk about the meet me feature. I live in Ashburn, Va which is Northern Va and when I click the meet me option 90 percent are more than three hours away easy. I sent them emails but they came back with there is no way to change the distance Sorry.
So what about the Search option, well it's just as bad and maybe even worse. You can select 5 miles and then click search, yeah the site changes it to 50 miles on it's own. I mean why even have the option if you are just going to change it to what ever you want. I mean come on why do I want to see the profiles of women three states away from me?

I have registered with POF 3 times in the past and I always wondered why there were so few replies when my messages were respectful and positive. Occasionally I would get a message from a member that had just closed their account so I began to piece the vague evidence together.
I think the vast majority of profiles are fake. I think POF is behind this because all of the scammers use Google text accounts that look like phone numbers. Many of these so-called members just start asking personal questions just like a hacker trying to collect information. They come on real strong if that doesn't work they magically disappear the next day. This makes sense only if there is a scam going on.
As far as the real profiles. They are the bottom of the barrel types of people. Women in their mid 30's to 50's who have listed their longest relationship as being 2 or 3 years. What does that tell you? That should be a red flag for any man seeking a long term relationship and not thinking with his $#*! all the time. In other words for you who are slow on the uptake. It implies that the woman sleeps around a lot, has commitment phobia, or both!
I don't think POF gives a damn about the integrity of their dating site because they merely sell their lists of millions of free members to advertisers, and that's where their revenue is generated besides conning guys with fake profile replies that get them excited enough to upgrade their account. READ THE REVIEWS EVEN ON THEIR OWN SITE THERE ARE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY DON'T EVEN POLICE COMMENTS MUCH LESS THE SCAMMERS, RECRUITERS OF PORNO HOOKUP SITES, OR PROSTITUTES. They booted me for 2 reasons. 1) Because I reported all the scammers I came across. 2) Because I called out all the women who had fake profiles full of contradictory verbiage that did not make sense. For instance 90% of all profiles say, " Casual dating but nothing serious" or "Want to date but nothing serious". What conclusion would you draw? Then some of the women actually said, "Am in a serious relationship but just want to date someone on the side. Don't judge me or you'll be deleted!" What dating site that had any integrity would allow such BS?

I am an attractive in shape man who gets along very well with women. Here though it is different. Mostly overweight women, the attractive ones are few and far between and most likely 90% of them are fakes. The very few real women on there have the whole websites men throwing themselves at their feet and therefore pretty much nonresponsive unless you are a 25 year old millionaire male model. Most of the time you are speaking with a chat bot or POF operator. It is a trick. A trick that exploits lonely and isolated people by playing on their emotional weakness. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS SITE IN ANY WAY IS MY RECOMMENDATION!

This site should be called Plenty of Fakes and they don't take actions when I report the fake profiles/scammers

Stay away from this website there are a lot of guys out there that wants money from you, especially the ladies that are looking for true love. These guys prey on the lonely, I know because it happened to me. The man I met on here took me for everything I had and left me in utter debt. If you see the name Joseph Durmus BEWARE! He will take you for everything you have. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR TRUE LOVE.

No point leaving a review on Trustpilot as since covid POF has gone from a rating of 1 (which is bad) to adding 25,000 reviews from either bots or people with very bad English and their rating is now 4.2 ( great) Which is absolutely untrue. Its tantamount to deception at the very least

If you manage to find a woman who fills their profile bio in (most claim to be looking for a relationship yet can't be bothered to put anything about themselves and say ASK) it'll be full of generic stuff such as they like going out and meeting friends and holidays, the same as everybody, absolutely zero creativity

The women I saw on the site were very average or even below average looks but more importantly the were demanding, rude, aggressive and very very picky. Lots were 5 foot tall yet had the nerve to say if you were under 6 foot and you messaged them you would be blocked. Such a polite happy cheerful attitude. Not only unattractive but also have a huge chip on their shoulders and no class. Not a winning combination
I have never seen so many single mums on here too, it's like they churn out children without thinking or caring, yet in their bio they too are ridiculously demanding
I've yet to meet a man who doesn't see this as baggage.

I got a message from someone who I didn't find attractive and she told me she gets 15-20 messages a day and on the first day alone she got 19 pictures from men with photos of their genitals. Seriously, it's bad enough the desperate men messaging these women but sending those kind of pics? There is no chance at all any decent woman would stay on the site getting that

It did make me smile when a lot of the headlines say 'Covid made me do it' Yes I'm sure when there's no pandemic they must get inundated in the real world by men (sarcasm) wanting an overweight nasty women to date

Total waste of time. Its full of dreadful women with desperate men giving them attention which makes them think they're great. Most seem only on there for an ego boost

I used Plenty of Fish for a couple of months - back in 2018 - my view is that its actually pretty good -
I got a few dates on it, and although there are a few doubters - I did well -
I recommend NOT paying for it ( you don't need to) and just give pleasant replies / messages -
And see what happens - frankly there are far worse out there!

I'm a decent looking guy with a lot to offer and every girl on here even the ones below average have a huge entitlement syndrome even the ones who are not great looking but said hello to me,, don't waste your time these girls are both nasty in looks and nasty in character. They are on here because they flat out suck and no good guy would date them,, most smoke are jobless but require you to be perfect. Forget this site don't waste your time and the other girls on here are just nasty trash

He use this dating app try to cheat women go to hotel. He is 160 short. 48years old. Walk just like duck. One leg look like longer than another leg. Big stomach. Talk balabala. IT job. Live Toronto. Always wear dark sunglasses cover his wrinkles eye. He will change another account cheat more women. Everyone protect yourself. Don't fall for his tricks.

Have used match before, and thought I would try POF. In 2 days i received 4 scammers; I am a guy looking to meet other guys and more than once did the app insist on me looking at a woman's profile... from 300km away at that. I had selected the 75km radius, and checked all the boxes for dude seeking dude. Using km for an American user is a little disingenuous as well, I'm all about the metric system, this is not the place. I also received messages from women, to whom I had to explain, no not interested... but yet when I attempted to message a guy, the app would not allow it based on his criteria? Wtf? The few text conversations I ha with seemingly actual guys came to no good end. I don't think the paradigm of 'increasing your profile's popularity' has anything to do with actually finding somebody.
One week: 4 scammers, 2 wrong gender, 2 flakes, 2 guys peaceably parted ways with because we clearly weren't a match... but I was 'liked' by 69 other... user profiles, hey maybe they were people, maybe they weren't.

Frustrating. Waste of time, effort.

Guys, first quick sign of scammer is when yu look at where they live- if it's local, keep moving!

Do not use POF. They will delete your profile after you've paid for no reason. I contacted a lawyer to pursue a class action suit. This has happened to me over 2 years and many more people. If this is the case, please contact me. *******@gmail.com

I admit I've been on and off POF for over a decade. Yes, I have been in committed relationships during that time and was engaged at one time. She unfortunately died. Several years ago, everything on POF was free. You could search for who exactly you were looking for. Get togethers were held weekly and so me times more often. Scores of people came to these events. Then charges started. If you wanted to see a full profile you had to pay. Discussion boards which offered advice and critism of POF was taken away. The ability to hold gatherings went away. You could no love Niger tell how long it had been since someone was on unless you paid. People fled the site. If you're going to pay then pay for a better site.

Plenty of Fish used to be a good website, but it now has become an environment that supports sex trafficking, pimping, prostitution, child porn, and fraud. Victims of human sex trafficking are all over the website sending users advertisements for web cam signups, meetups for sex in exchange for money, soliciting child sex, and more. I don't understand why the FBI has not shut POF down, but people need to be made aware that the owner of POF has been complicit in rape culture and human sex trafficking by allowing such behavior on the website with minimal effort to weed them out. There simply is not enough being done to protect consumers and to save child and adult female victims. Craigslist removed its personals while the FBI took down Backpage. It is time for Plenty of Fish to be taken down next.

I've noticed that the legitimate profiles on this site are blocked by the site, and there is a pop-up message stating that those men only accept messages from paying members.

I, personally, know some of those men, and they told me that they did not authorize such pop-up message on their profile. They said they saw the same message on my profile, which I did not authorize.

The only men that are available to receive messages, are the ones with a fake from profiles of men who live overseas.

Based on that information, some of us are wondering if POF is a legitimate dating site.

In viewing POF listings for the Southern California area (LA, SD, Santa Barbara, etc.) I have noted a lot of listings for women in the 55 to 70 y. O. age range that have been compromised by hackers. That is, photos of women in the 20's attached to profiles of women who are much older. And please note - these are NOT younger versions of the older women. They are the only photos posted. If you respond to it, you will be harassed by the respondent.

Apparently POF cannot be bothered to police their site, as this is rampant.

I posed a simple question to POF on how to block someone as the directions on line do not show on my desktop computer. I was told to do something, but was not told how to do it. This question has gone to 4-5 POF team members who again tell me what to do, but not how to do it. Send us a screen shot they say. How do I send a screen shot. Use your phone and take a picture. My landline does not have a camera in it. And, I do not have a cell phone as I have no use for one. Being on a fixed budget, I do not need the added expense of a cell phone when I am home all the time. All messages have been direct to my email and not through the POF site. And, because I am upset at them through direct emails, they have blocked me on the POF site from sending messages to others on the POF site. Nothing derogatory was said or conveyed. But because they have the control button, then have censored me. Just such a lack of professionalism from POF.

Sadly the site is now being bombarded by fakes and scammers, It's got worse since the Covid-19 pandemic started. Also, there are reports from returning genuine members that they've had profiles hijacked, And this seems to be true... As the profile wording seems normal (plenty of effort put in) but then has photo's of some 20 year old girl when the genuine person was 50 years old. I've seen so many say... "Back again as profile was hijacked"... There are also 1000's of new profiles where the persons photo's have been copied from Russian dating sites. My advice to POF... Step up your game before your site becomes as bad as some of the other well known awful sites that are 80% full of fake profiles and devious scammers.
Devious as in... They are copying a photo... And are then rotating it so the person is looking the opposite direction... This is to fool. Google image search. So they can't be caught out... Luckily, YANDEX image search is quite clever and still brings up the image no matter which way it's facing.
