We have not used this service for well over a year now and they keep charging us! They stopped for a while after we called, but theyve begun doing it again. Shame on these people for taking advantage of alresdy vulnerable families. If you have a loved one in prison- stay away from this service.
This is by far the best service out there to keep in touch! My bf has been gone about a year and this has saved me a ton of money and headaches when it comes to staying in touch. I saw some of the negative reviews but decided to try anyway and am so happy I did!
I never write negative reviews but the one and only time I used this company was 3 years ago and every 2-3 months $19.99 is charged to my account. I have contacted them to have it removed at least 5 times and thank GOD my has them flagged as fraud but if they just add 1 cent you have to make another fraud report this is ridiculous and there should definitely be a class action lawsuit by now, enough is enough...

I asked the company to remove my card on file in July of 2019. Feb 3,2020, I get a pending transaction on my credit card for 19.99. Mind you, I have a block for this merchant on my credit card. Today I found out my credit card company can only block a merchant for a specific amount. So, this explains why the 19.99 went through. So now they are blocking that amount. I've asked numerous times for pigeon.ly to give me proof that they deleted my card from their system and they have not done it. I will be calling them again tomorrow.
I'm really really really bummed to write this review. I want to support people who need second chances in life and was happy when I read it was run by former inmates. My friend got in some trouble and I was happy I was able to have a way to stay in contact. $7.98 a month and I was able to send my friend letters. Except I noticed, I got a charge for $7.99 one week so I look back at my statement and notice there are several more from earlier I hadn't seen. I contact their very nice customer service who promptly removes it. A couple of weeks later, the same thing! Customer service is always nice about it. But then after the next unlawful charge, I decided I can't continue with this company, so I decided to cancel. Three weeks later, another charge! So now I've officially blocked the card from being able to connect with my bank.
These people have took forever to send a letter, after a month and when you call them to cancel and close the account the keep charging you bank account, and now a year after they still charge you for an account that has been closed. Very poor customer service and will promise to refund you but never do. They give you a run around and a hard time to resolve the issue.
This company does. Not service co. Jail or any jail as far as I can tell they are scammers! They took my $ wont return emails
This company has took over a $200.00 dollars from me. They will not respond to emails or phone calls. They will keep you on hold for hours and hang up on you. They have took 20 7.99 payments and 3 19.99 and 3 14.99 payments. They are taking money out of my account a couple of time a month. DONT USE THIS COMPANY!
Always use a prepaid debit that will only be used during the time your friend/family will be in need of the services. A couple weeks after I used the services my card started being charged $19.99 every 3 days until I had to report it stolen and get a new card! Preditory service be careful. Bank did refund all unauthorized charges.
They took money several times double and even triple times for nothing. Even a year after cancelling the account they still charged me $20 out of no where for nothing. Dont trust this comoany!
I called and canceled my services then they charged me another 19.99 after that. They say they will refund the money but haven't seen it yet.

I signed up for a free 3-day trial and decided to keep the service since the pictures I sent were not received by the end of the trial so I was charged $4.99 as agreed upon then directly afterwards was charged $19.99 two separate times and had to call their customer service and stay on hold to have them say yes we incorrectly charged you and they gave me some crap about how it happened when they changed servers I imagine they make their money by doing this to people who don't have the time to call back for the refund of the money stolen buy them.

Those are fees that are automatically charged to Pigeonly accounts depending on your subscription type.The good news is our refund policy is simple so if you were charged incorrectly the appropriate department will correct the issue and refund the charges right away.
The process to receive a refund can be as quick as 3 days but can take as long as 14 days, depending on your bank.

There is not enough explanation. Not worth the effort. Letters are delivered late. They are "processing" for almost a week. Even after you get a confirmation that the letter is sent the program still won't let you send the next letter. Says the other letter has to process. So you can only write 4 letters a month.
As an update after my review, I received a refund for the extra amount and have not been billed any more for that. I am very pleased with the services I have which are the phone numbers and sending photos. It makes it much easier for me to stay in touch and send photos to help my loved one through this time. I know some have had problems like the one I had, but I don't get why they haven't been helped if the company is taking money they shouldn't. Contact your bank and change your card, also inform the bank to not pay anything from this company. They should not charge anything for the new card and may have a small fee to put a stop payment in place. If the company won't fix it, then there are ways to fix it with your bank. One other suggestion is to never use a bank card for anything online. It's dangerous to give access to your cash. If you don't have a credit card, you can buy a reloadable one at wallmart that is a visa/mc. Then they can't steal your money. I hope you are able to fix it with them.
I love being able to have these services with my loved one. She calls me and her daughter regularly now and I've sent many, many pics for her. She's much happier and more content to be able to do her time.
My problem is that I only have 2 virtual phone numbers and photos. That is $7.99 + 4.99 + 4.99 which comes to $17.97. I have it on autopay, so I should be getting $5 off making my bill $12.97. Right? Well, I called the guy and he said that the $17.97 IS with the $5 off -? (Can't do math?) But on top of that, For the last 2 months, I also get a charge of $7.99 a week earlier. For what, I don't know. This is costing me and extra $12.99 and they can't/won't fix it. If anyone here knows of a better company to use for Fed prison, I'd love to know about it. I really DIDN'T sign up for this. I will change this to 5 stars if I can find someone there who will help me and can math.
I recently got a pigeonly account and immediately regretted it after i read all the reviews here. So i drafted up a letter anyway while i still had my 3 day trial to see if it'd send. After sending it is when i reached out and called them myself that i wanted to close my account and remove my card info due to all the overpricing and "scams" i was reading about (onyl reason i took a star away). The rep did that with no problem, well, i still actually have a login but she did remove my payment method. Which i was happy about. However, to my surprise, my husband got my letter a week later. As much as i want to write another one, with all the scam reviews, im still skeptical about it and dont wanna think of myself as the "lucky one" here to not have issues. YET. I will write another review if i do happy to add my payment method back and try it for a 2nd time. But my overall first experience wasnt bad at all. Got the trial, was able to send a "test" letter out free of charge, and it got delivered.
I signed up to see what it was about supposed to be a 3 day trial well in website says you can cancel after you see the charges for monthly subscription then 24.99 I think for a number well I never got the number when trying to cancel kept taking me back so I emailed was called after the 3 day trial and said i never agreed to the 24.99 number still got charged. Many people after i learned this told me there all over charged and its multiple charges in one month. I would advise you just go thru the jails system and not here. This place is a complete RIP off. And all these false good reviews. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. I've turned my complaint over to better business bureau it's bad enough its expensive to talk to a loved one in jail and send things to. And you have a company like this that rips you off. They will blow you up with emails too.

Without this business there would be a lot more unhappy and lonely people in the world. I am pleased I can send photos and cards to my husband this place takes away some of the worry by allowing people on the outside to be able to a put a smile on a loved ones face.
I think the staff at Pigeonly make you feel valued, worth their time and that having an account with them, actually matters.
Answer: Hello: To all who have suffered multiple, unauthorized charges by Pigeonly. I have submitted all necessary info to classaction.org to initiate a class action suit. My request is being reviewed by lawyers who will let me know if Pigeonly's actions warrant a class suit. You can go to classaction.org to review the process. You may also want to check out the current suits and settlements to see if you qualify as an injured party entitled to a portion of the settlement. If the lawyers decide we have a valid case, they will draft the complaint and file with the appropriate court. The judge must approve the class action before it can go any further; the lawyers will reach out to injured parties, and/or post the suit/settlement on classaction.org, newspapers, etc. If you aren't contacted, please make the effort to join this class action once it's posted. It doesn't require an appearance in any court, nor much of your time. These people are lining their pockets at the expense of so many of us already forced to deal with unfortunate situations. Answer: I have it and for the first month worked fine now not working so I just went and got a cell # in his area and said forget it not paying for a service that does not work And when you call customer service they keep saying they are working on the issue and it has been 5 days since my first call saying it wasn't working they are letting you get through for about a month then assigning the # to someone else attaching it to that persons number a big, Ole scam do not use them
Answer: You can send a postcard or letter to your loved one and include your assigned number. Or give them the number the next time they call. Also a lot of jails have implemented emails.
