It took us a year to decide getting another cat after ours of 15 yrs crossed the rainbow so onn 7/12/19 we went to our local PetSmart to look at adoption kittens/cats. We found one that seemed purr-fect for us and adopted her. She was slightly over 1 year old. Before leaving, I asked for ALL her medical records and was told that what they gave me was all they had. (she originally came from a rescue in TN and then was moved to one in VA then to PetSmart for adoption). She took over our hearts and house but we were okay with that. She is fantastic. We noticed she seemed to sneeze a lot and would become out of breath after only a couple of minutes of play. We took her to our vet for a wellness check and found out she has a grade 2/3 heart murmur. It was recommended to have a cardiac echo (costs between $400 - $700). She may require heart medication for the rest of her life depending on exactly what they find. We have no idea what her quality of life may be or even how long it may be. We are devastated. We are on a fixed income and this will put a great burden on us but we will do everything possible to give her the best life possible. Our vet told us that with the grade murmur she has it would have been picked up months before our adoption and her vet visit. Is that why there were no medical records for us to have? In all probability YES. Our vets office also told us that one of their staff has called PetSmart to warn them about the vet they are using in VA as she is less than "competent". We were also advised NOT to adopt any more pets from PetSmart. Well Richmond, VA Petsmart, Fredericksburg, VA vet and rescue, you took our money - let's just hope you haven't taken our hearts and that our beloved "CAMI" lives a long life with us. We will never patronize your stores again.
I brought my dog on 10/04/19 to GreenAcres PetSmart Grooming. My dog's (Buju) groomer name was Jules C. I paid $80 to get my dog (Buju) bathe, cut and to clip his nails. When I returned I noticed that they did not bathe him. When I complained I was told that the groomer Jules C had left for the day. I was so upset because I had paid extra for them to bathe him with a specific shampoo. I told the manager Lisa what had happened and she told me to come back and they would bathe this time for me. We brought him back the following day and when he was picked up he had a blood shot eye. I am devasted! They abuse Buju because they were upset with me complaining about the service. They need to be investigated and locked up for animal abuse! Please review your camera for 10/05/19 when he was brought back in.
Our dog escaped Winnipeg Petsmart grooming area while we were waiting for a staff member to show up at the groomer counter; after a store customer opened the grooming area door & our pet escaped the Petsmart building. Our pet was unleashed, however due to the grooming area being next door to the exit doors, there was no way I could catch our dog, as both exit sliding doors happened to be open during our dog's escape from the grooming area. Unfortunately Petsmart staff did not remind me to place our dog on a leash or offered a leash for our dog.
Petsmart staff made little to no effort to chase after the loose dog nor did they offer any assistance to help find our dog; as I am disabled. Petsmart never reached out to us for the next 24 hrs. Approx. 18 hrs later we notified Petsmart that we had found our dog safe at the local dog pound.
We had incured some dogpound fees and asked Petsmart if they would consider reimbursing us for some of the costs. A week later, Petsmart informed us that they would not offer to reimburse us for any of the dog pound fees as they deemed us 100%@ fault.
Pet Owner beware, not all businesses consider your pets their responsibility when in their place of business,
Dog Owner (X Petsmart customer)
I picked up my little 6 pound Shih Tzu after her grooming appt. In the car, she curled up on the seat vs. being happy to see me. I could tell something was wrong. When we got home, she couldn't walk. From her waist down, she seem paralyzed. Her head was hard cocked to the left. Her body seem bent in half sideways to the left. Her left ear was bent weird upward compared to her right. Her tail, instead of curling up on her back was curling horizontally to the left side. Very unnatural looking. I immediately took her to the emergency hospital. $1000 later, they explained she was clearly damaged. It would cost $2500 to do an MRI to confirm she may have been dropped. I couldn't afford it. They said she could have been dropped, they could have also gone in her ears and caused damage to her balance. WIthout the tests they couldn't be sure. They gave me meds and said to give her some time to see how she does. Even with the MRI there would be little they could do. Now a week later, she can walk, but her entire body tilts to the left. Her ear is still cocked and her personality has changed. SHe has no patience and she tries to attack you if you touch her hips. She doesn't want to be touched at all. So, I keep hoping she will continue to improve. I spoke with a regional manager at PetSmart who said to send the vet report. I never heard back from them. Now I will have to sue them. Gees. I then went online and research PetSmart problems and there are many people with similar stories. Just Google it and you'll see. THis sweet little girl has never had a sick day in her life. I bred her and was there when she was born. Her mother was a Champion Shih Tzu.
1. Dismal selection of fish and half of their aquariums were empty
2. Dumbass employee failed to tie off my friend's fish bag correctly causing most of the water to spill out in the car.
3. Bought 2 fish and both were sick causing one to die in my aquarium. Not only that but one of my paleatus corydoras decided to start munching on the corpse and soon after caught the same illness. Also dead the next day. Had to throw out the other fish (I bought from said Petsmart) because she was so ill that she would soon be belly up as well. Tank is now dosed with meds so hopefully the rest of the community survives. $#*! you Petsmart for half assing your $#*!.
Word of advice: don't $#*!ing buy fish from Petsmart (or at least not from the one in Grand Junction) because you'll get $#*!ed
DO NOT ADOPT FROM PETSMART. I adopted a kitten from Petsmart/Lil Bit of Love. The kitten ended up being very sick and contagious. It was obvious that he was sick because he had very bloody diarrhea which I noticed in the litter box. Petsmart should have noticed this before adopting out, as it was VERY OBVIOUS. Not only did the kitten have a parasite, he spread it to my other cats. This has resulted in hundreds of dollars worth of vet bills for not only him but the others as well. The vet got rid of one sickness but it appears that the kitten has multiple! I am still having to put this poor kitten on multiple medications and have had multiple visits to the vet. I called Lil Bit of Love and left a voicemail, they have not returned my call. This behavior is negligent and unprofessional. Since the sickness is contagious as well, I would wager that all of the kittens they are currently adopting out have this sickness, since they are not caring for their animals or taking proper cautions. DO NOT ADOPT FROM PETSMART. They will sell you a sick animal. They will not help you. They will not return your calls. They are an irresponsible and negligent company.
I regularly use Petsmart feature of ordering items online and then picking up in the store. Unlike Petco, Petsmart offers a discount on ALL items whereas Petco selectively offers a discount for certain, non-expensive things. I place my order, get an email confirmation that it's ready usually within an hour, and just pick up in the store and then I'm on my way. Very convenient and I love the extra 5% off. Well worth it!
The management of supplies is weird and very unsatisfactory. Petsmart used to be #1 store I went to for my cat's supply for many years. I finally stopped using it few months ago due to inconsistency of supplies. For past several years, cats food and litter supplies are not stable. I brought to stores managements' attention these issues, but always was given the same response at different stores location - I was told that Petsmart corporate office decides how much and which supplies to route to a store based on popularity of products. Thus, it led to elimination of POPULAR products TOTALLY! I asked store managers to bring to corporate's attention that even if it is thought (for some strange reasons) items stopped being so popular, they still should be supplied to stores with the lower quantity, the least. However, nothing has changed. For example, I used to buy Dr Elsey's Senior Cat Litter and Dr Elsey's Long Haired Cat Litter for 11 years, at the same store. It always was supplied before in good quantities and always was sold very fast, which means these products are popular. The same was with different kinds of cat's food, for example Royal Canin Persian Food and Royal Canin Hair & Skin 33 Adult Cat Dry Food. Lately, I feel that long hair cats are discriminated by Petsmart company. I am now using their competitor, Petco and other online sources to buy these products. Such attitude in business leads to store closings and I am sure this would be this company's near future.
The are ok just a little more expensive on most stuff. You can find some good deals with sale items or clearance items. But they do have a good selection.
Took my Tommy friend at Doggie day camp and it was hilarious. The event is really a great day in a great environment to unlock the love from pets. I enjoyed it
Bought our first ball python from PetSmart and in the same month we ended up buying another ball python from Petco. We noticed that the one from PetSmart was sneezing a lot more than what seemed normal compared to the other. Then we started noticing signs of a respiratory infection. We returned the snake and got our refund which sucks that they don't offer any kind of help like Petco does to keep the snake and provide veterinary help. The same exact thing happened with our bearded dragons. Bought one from PetSmart and it didn't live even a month since we bought it and it always seemed more lethargic and stargazing compared to the one we bought from Petco. It's pretty obvious they don't care for their animals as well as they put on and I'm done wasting my time buying their animals just to have them die.
Petsmart is a terrible company who's policies are outdated and childish! Would never recommend buying or supporting this company!
We live across town in Ypsilanti Township and were just having one of those " running sorta behind days". We've NEVER been late for any other appointments with Pet Smart in the past. I called ahead, letting them know we'd be 15 minutes behind. Although, it was 10 minutes longer, pass their so called grace period. Upon arrival, we were told they could not groom our (23 lb.) Dog because we were late! Kimberly, acted like she didn't care at all that we were displeased! My dog has come home with burn marks from the razor, bleeding toenails from too short nail clips, itchy from not rinsing the shampoo out good... But we showed patience, giving Pet Smart a chance to remedy their inadequacies. Where is Pet Smarts patience toward Loyal Customers who may be running slightly behind on a particular day? DEFINATELY WILL NOT use them ever for Boarding my dog or Grooming him again!
I love cats and this website has many products for pets. I like to go for shopping with such a variation of products. But their costumer services are so compromised like some of their team members have attitude and do not bother to guide completely.
In the last five months I I have had to replace my bearded dragons basking bulb about 7 times. The bulb I use keeps going out and it's not my fixture I just got a new one because I thought it was a fixture. It's ridiculous having to buy a new bulb every month when it should be every 6 months to 7 months. And any time I go in there to replace the bulb they get nasty with me. I'm pretty sure I will be going to paw Mart near me. They are better at customer service.
I like dog VERY MUCH. I am so happy to know this website, thanks for their customer services, i understand my friend(my lovely dog) more, and we have a happy time every time. Hope my friend happy every day.
The staff here has a lot of knowledge about their products and animals
I like to go shopping here such a huge variation
We have started the dog food for the puppy and i see that our dog like to eat that all dog but some time he don't like to eat i don't no why? Whenever i use to bring the new food she don't like it
It seems like PetsMart is heading down the same path as K-Mart and Sears. Lousy customer service, they have an, "I don't care attitude" and the management is awful. I have been to two different PetsMarts here in Albuquerque and it is the same in both places. Today, December 24th I was scheduled to get my Morki groomed at 9:00. When I arrived they said I did not have an appointment. After reading the reviews, this seems to be nationwide. Spoke to two different managers and their attitude was basically that they didn't care whether I shop there or not. You loose one customer, you loose 10, that 10 becomes 100 and that 100 becomes 1,000 and on and on.
I grew-up in retail and I would NEVER think of treating a customer in this manner. I will never step another foot in PetsMart again. And what is interesting is that in Houston when I lived there, it was the same attitude at PetsMart. You went into PetCo and they treated you like royalty. You went into PetsMart and they treated you like dirt. I wonder when they will declare bankruptcy because you don't run a business like this! Especially in retail.
Bye, bye PetMart and it not been nice knowing you!
Never taking my dog back to this grooming salon again. Today, I found out by one of the groomers that our babies are put in kennels right after their bath, while they are still wet, so they can air dry while the groomer gives baths to other dogs. I know this is a business and they care more about making money than taking good care of our babies. This is why they provide the express wash for $11.00dlls more, which includes the blow dryer. I thought the blow dryer was included in the price but apparently that's an additional price. God knows what else they do with our babies behind those walls!
Answer: Way over-priced in store and on-line. Their treats program on-line is a joke.
Answer: I have no knowledge concerning your question. At our Petsmart in Sacramento they sell animal products; it's a store; not a place where dogs go to play. Dogs are allowed inside the store to 'shop' with their person, but the dogs must be on a leash, contained, etc.
