Terrible level of customer service. I had to call to schedule an exam and some of the staff had problems with English. Twice the connection was simply dropped during conversation. During the exam the proctor was rude and unpleasant, also i barely understood what he was saying at all. Luckily he could write in chat. Avoid persons vue if you can.
These guys are horrible! I had the most painful experience with Pearson Vue. 30 seconds into my PMI exam and I was disconnected by the Proctor for reasons unknown, and now it's showing I failed my exam. I seldom leave reviews online but wow, what a nightmare, Pearson Vue. Horrible customer care service as well. I can't grasp how a company so incompetent and so poorly managed can stay in business. There are no words that can truly express my disappointment!
ZERO STARS! Tried to take the Florida Real Estates Sales Agent test 3 times through their online site. What a total $#*!-show. You have to take a bunch of pics with your phone via a text message link they send you to check in for the online test. Had to take the pics of my face, my ID, my pre-license certificate, and the test area- I had to take the pics over and over and over again for 45 minutes but they still wouldn't accept them so I gave up since they say if you don't check in within 15 min after the scheduled test time you can't take the test. Then the next time after take the required pics over and over again I almost gave up but somehow they were good enough to check in and a live screen finally popped into my computer with the proctor, who spoke such broken English that I couldn't understand him so he had to start a chat with me. Then he told me that the picture I took of my pre-license certificate had to be a picture of the original certificate not a picture of the certificate the school emailed to me so I said that the pearsonvue site says that if the original certificate was sent directly to the state (which it was) that a photocopy of it can be used. The proctor then told me I could leave the screen and make a photocopy of the certificate from the copy that I had downloaded from my email. I told him that I don't have a copier and said what's the difference whether I take a pic of the certificate on my computer screen or download a pic of the certificate from my computer to print out and then take a pic of that piece of paper. He said that pearsonvue policy is that it has to be a pic of a copy of a paper copy of a certificate not a pic of a copy of it from the screen of my computer. I was pissed, so he got his supervisor on, and then she got her supervisor on- both just repeated their idiotic policy and told me that I can't take the test. If you want to save yourself the drive to an onsite testing center by trying to take the test online, you will be in for a lot of grief and aggravation. So I paid the $57.xx online test fee 3 times, and still wasn't able to take the test online due to pearsonsvue's screwed up web system and stupid policy. Now I have to pay again and will have to drive 2 hours to an onsite testing system to finally take the test. It's hard to believe that Florida state and other states use this screwed up company to proctor their tests. Par for the course I guess.
Just trying to book an exam using the Pearson Vue website, but after approving the payment on the banking app, the appointment then is no longer available - this has happened on 6 occasions.
The Customer help portal is well hidden on the website and difficult to find.
Even though I was able to contact them using the chat window. The department that could help was not available...
I used Preason Vue online proctored exam for my PMP certification and I do NOT recommend. Find a testing site. I know this testing site is going to find me at fault but I did a system check when I first received the email and no issues. Day before I tried to run another system check and I kept running into issues and I was told by the testing site to wait 30 minutes prior to the exam to contact them with issues (no pressure for a $500 dollar test). As you may have guesses, I was not able to get into my test and take it the day of due to system issues. It should not be this hard to take an online test. Do NOT recommend. Find a testing site.
Disgraceful proctoring, disgraceful service. Choose a different company at all costs. Do not study any certification if it requires the use of this company. They will steal your money
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service I received during my recent CompTIA Security+ examination at Pearson VUE. The experience was highly unsatisfactory and left me feeling cheated and mistreated.
During the examination, the webcam was not working properly, and I was unable to see myself on the screen, It was black the whole time. I received two warnings that I had moved my head, even though I made sure not to move for 50 minutes straight. Additionally, the chat function was not working correctly, and I was unable to get any assistance or clarification.
When I needed to use the restroom, I attempted to use the chat function to ask if I could leave the room, but my message was not sent, and the proctor kept talking to himself while I could not answer at any question. Shortly after, I was revoked from the examination without any reasonable explanation. This entire experience was unacceptable, and I find it highly suspicious that everything shut down in a matter of seconds.
As a recent law school graduate, I have gone through 16 years of education and have never seen anyone getting revoked from an examination because the examination platform was not working correctly. This experience left me feeling cheated and mistreated, and I refuse to pay again for an examination that I was unfairly revoked from.
I would appreciate it if you could rectify this situation promptly and provide me with an opportunity to retake the examination without additional fees. I am willing to provide any necessary documentation or evidence to support my claim.
Sincerely,

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Portal is buggy, they had me rip my desk apart just to try to get a far enough visual of my desk instead of panning. After question 1, the test exited and I cannot get back in. There is no customer service #. I'm out $400 unless I go through my credit card company to backout the charges.
The worst customer service. Impossible to search for certain test types. Customer service phone operators continually transfer you to departments who either dont pick up or transfer you elsewhere.
Terrible!
They are terrible! Do not schedule a proctored exam to take from home. The proctor will not show up!
I went to a Pearson testing center to take an exam. The lady at the front desk directed me to skip a portion of my exam to get to the portion of the rest of the test I needed to take. Didn't sound right to me, but I did what she told me to do bc she said this just happened and this is what I should do. She sat next to me the entire time and led me through it. Turns out she was wrong and she apologized and said I will definitely be getting my money back. Pearson refuses to refund me my money and says it it's my fault and I should've known better. The person I spoke with in the phone to try and resolve it was so unhelpful and condescending. Said things costumer service should not say, so rude, no one was willing to consider refunding me when this was clearly the fault of their hired staff. So dissatisfied not about the money, but the way I was treated.
If I could give it neg stars I would. Honestly, the worst company operations, support and software I have dealt with…likely ever! And I have worked in IT for 10yrs. Taking an online exam would be the biggest joke if it wasn't excruciatingly frustrating. Don't bother showing up on time to check in, you'll still wait at least a half hour over your start time. Then if something isn't correct or they decide they want a better picture, your back in the queue. You'll be lucky if your not right around 300+ ppl waiting. Hourish waiting there, they get to "next up" and.wow, a connection issue! Of course. Even tho I've been online all day, streaming all day, etc. just so happens another promblem…back to the top of the queue with another 300 ppl! I called twice, support is utterly useless. "We'll def take a look at your access code" lol…sure. Pass all pre exam diagnostics just fine, twice in fact. But they can play this card all day. They don't give a F about you or your exam. No ownership, no responsibility, no support, no exam. In fact do your own homework, go google "pearson vue sucks" and you be the judge. Same horror stories over and over. Just go take the exam in person and be done with it. I doubt I'll get my money back either as I never actually got to take the exam, and then their support closes at 6pm my time.so good luck! Sit in the queue for another Hr in hopes you might almost get a chance to talk to someone. I'd say this is the new post covid world, and maybe it is but this is Microsoft's trusted partner?! Wow!
I had some issues due to that I got married and name was different. I tried to update the system it did not let me and I called them and got nothing. The person in the chat ( help desk) did not help at all and when I was trying to type to her she closed the window down and I was not helped now, I don't get my money back to or reschedule and could not and did not take the test. SO RUDE!
The worst, absolutely the WORST test taking vendor I have ever had the misfortune of working with. After being told I was eligible to take my exam, I was emailed a user name and password that DIDN'T WORK! Calling customer service, I was transferred 3 or 4 times to various people who had no idea what I was talking about or how to help me. They seemed bewildered at life in general and confused overall with what their job was exactly. Visiting the customer service page, I found no phone number or email despite the fact that the webpage stated that both would be found on the "contact us" page. I started a chat and was put on hold for an hour. I had to get back to work and when I returned to the computer, the chat was closed due to inactivity. This company is run by the most inept and incompetent human beings in the world of business. If I did my job half as bad as these people do, I would have been fired on the first day.
I had 4 online exams with Pearsonvue, and I can confidently say I will not use them again. I took the CompTIA A+ and N+ exams. The 2 A+ exams were a breeze I never suspected they had a dodgy system, I was just lucky I guess.
My troubles started when I took the N+ exam. I simply could not check in through the mobile app, it kept giving me error messages when trying to tap to the next step of uploading my ID. I checked in with my webcam in the end but as it wasn't an autofocus webcam so the pictures were quite blurry, I tried to reason with the proctor to give me some alternatives, but they just revoked the exam. I thought it would be easy to just rebook the exam as I had no chance to do anything I was wrong. I tried calling them as others mentioned don't bother, it just hangs up or they can't hear you, or they put you on hold and hang up. I finally got an email a week later that I broke the exam rules, because I provided an invalid ID, not that I could provide any ID. I was told to pay again and rebook, so I took it up to CompTIA who sided with them after a 2 week investgation. It felt like they never read my email or saw the evidence I provided. That's is a big F for comptia as I really like their material.
I had no choice but to rebook for £220, I bought a new Logitech webcam for £80 with autofocus. I borrowed 2 more mobile phones. I thought there could be no trouble now to retake the exam, boy I was wrong.
My 4th exam was an utter nightmare from the start.
The mobile check in app did not work again, and I tried it on 3 mobile phones. I signed in with my new autofocus webcam. 20 minutes into the test they restarted the exam, and they did so 3 more times claiming they could not see my webcam feed, although the system test did not show any faults with my equipment.
Every time they restarted the test it threw me back to the end of the queue, so the whole exam lasted for almost 4 and a half hours, not to mention losing my focus every time.
I was threatened that at the 5th time they would revoke the exam, in my final desperation I turned off all security on my PC, and connected the camera to a different USB port again.
At that point I had 40 minutes left to complete 50 questions. I am sure you agree that's not how an exam should be conducted; it is a miracle I did not fail.
All in all, avoid and go to a test centre, that's what I will do for my S+ exam, I prefer drive a 100mile roundtrip than go through this bloody nightmare again.
Was in the process of reviewing my answers to the exam and suddenly could not advance to the next question. My test was completely frozen. I contacted customer service and was not helped at all by the first rep. The second did help and submitted a review of my case. I will now need to wait to see if I will be allowed to reschedule without having to pay for another test. Groan. The SPHR test is difficult! Not looking forward to having to repeat that..
Their software is buggy and crashed during the middle of my exam. Now I have to retake it. Their support is even worse than their software. I would have given it 0 stars if I could have.
HORRIBLE platform. Got kicked back to the end of the line several times while waiting to sit my exam with it accusing "network problems" (which I really didn't have). When I FINALLY get in (after literally 2h), screen loading times of the order of MINUTES, then the application just accuses another network error. Call the proctor, SUPER RUDELY he tells me to force quit the app and relaunch it and hangs up on me. App tells me I'm breaching security. Launch it back again, can't get in because it doesn't accept my access code anymore. Contact Pearson VUE support on their webpage, they can't log me back in and can't reschedule my test. Tell me they escalated the issue and I'll be contacted back. Can only give me a number to rely on, not even an ETA. Call them, and when I finally get someone to talk to, I can't understand a word they say because of the HORRIBLE sound quality on top of a broken English and very heavy accent. Someone calls me back and hangs up immediately, from MASSACHUSSETS (as if I was gonna make a international call back). Leaves a message - can't understand ANYTHING with the background noise, poor sound quality and again a different kind of broken English and heavy accent.
Seriously, how is it that Microsoft uses them for their certifications? They can't do ANYTHING right! It's insane!
I have tried to take my PMP exam twice, and both times, I had technical difficulties and was only able to complete 1/3 of the exam. I was refunded the first time. We'll see about this time. The first time, the camera stopped working so I was told to shut down everything and log back in… problem was that my login had expired and the link no longer worked. The phones are only answered on weekdays. So, I was stuck. The second time, I started the exam by asking for some type of contact in case something like that happened again. I couldn't get one but they noted my phone number in the chat. A while into it, I came across a question that required me to enter a value and noticed that my keyboard stopped working. I contacted the chat, and they just restarted the test. That didn't work, so someone else answered and they told me to do the same. During the exam, I was in contact with 5 people… and spent almost 30 minutes trying to resolve the issue. Only one person bothered to call me on my cell phone. Plus, getting passed around, I'm not sure how much got passed along. I had to explain my issue again and again, and without being able to type anything, I'm not sure how much they caught. I had used the service years ago, and it was much better. It seems like they've tried to cut costs, and service has suffered tremendously. Everyone's solution seems to be to get you to restart the test so they can hand off the problem to someone else. The one person I was able to talk to on the phone had me hang up because use of phones is prohibited. But in doing so, I also lost contact with him.
System kicked me out right after my last question! Wouldn't show me if I passed and now it is stuck in an "in progress status". You can't speak with anyone, only a very slow online chat and still no answers! This is terrible! A 2 hour test and no answers! Terrible system!
