PayPal Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

Fat cow is a domain name company.
If you register a domain name with them, they will raise invoice against you for the rest of your life that you did not authorize and take in out of your pay pal account. Pay pal wont dispute this, they wont listen to your dispute, because they get paid on the volume of transactions. They are both theives. Do NOT trust them.

Bought a product, when it arrived it was not what I ordered. Opened a complaint with paypal. They required me to return the product, which I did. But because the seller was in China and did not verify the return... they decided in his favor. Now, no money and do product. Does that seem fair? NOPE

Always too greedy
October 5, 2018

I have used PayPal for over 10 years both as a buyer and seller. Since recently, they began applying security holds for ALL withdrawals. Regardless the amount. Using same IP, same card for withdrawals.

It is clearly a tactic to hold on to our money just a little longer. Especially, because bank transfers in Europe became instant.

Currency exchange rates, seller fees, etc - make this company so irritating. They are very efficient but so greedy too. An eBay seller pays seller fees twice - first to eBay, then to PayPal. Regardless jurisdiction.

Thus, the 1 star. They should be ashamed and put out of business by younger and honest businesses.

September 20, 2018

Terrible company. Do not vet the people they deal with and can send your money to scam sites. Customer service is appalling. Messed up 2 out of 3 orders that I placed with them recently. Pay with a credit card don't use PayPal.

Using PayPal has been the most frustrating and time consuming experience!

They can take 10 days to transfer funds from your bank account. Even if you cancel the transfer they still take the money out of your bank account days later and freeze your money for seemingly ridiculous reasons.

In the United States I have found Google Wallet to be SO Much better (they are faster, they don't freeze your money, and they don't charge fees). For transferring money between Canada and the US, using a bank draft is a great option it can be the same amount as PayPal but so much faster and the bank will not freeze your funds.

I had been using Paypal for over a year to receive payments from my
Secondary revenue streams, which are mainly selling t-shirts on
Redbubble.com and doing some side jobs on Fiverr for two regular
Clients. Out of the blue, I received an email informing that my account
Had been "permanently limited" and that my only "choice" was to wait for
180 days to retire the funds available. I tried to clear the situation
By providing all the invoice and client information necessary, but their
Reply was that their decision was final (without any argumentation) and
Then give me the Paypal legal department info in case I wanted to take
Things further. Please don't trust Paypal with your work and your money,
They just don't care about you and aren't going to think twice to screw
You over.

I have gone to a Paypal reload center to reload my Paypal Business Debit cart. I performed this reload on September 8th at 5:41am. Until today September the 10th, I have not received the funds. I have been on the phone with PayPal on a daily bases at least twice a day. I always connected to the Philippines, and there is always a huge communication barrier which adds to my frustrations. This is after at least a 1 1/2 hour hold time and then being shuffled between departments back and forth for at least another hour. Today I am told I may have to wait another 24 - 48 hours to receive my funds. After uploading the receipt for my reload, and waiting a couple days, I even asked for a provisional credit since there was no error on my side. I was told that this in not possible and I would just have to wait. It seems that PayPal is definitely not the correct decision as this has been a very horrible and taxing experience.

Stay away from PayPal!
September 7, 2018

This is what happened over 10 years ago but it still has big effect to my life. I was using eBay that time to sell some items. Everything was running smoothly until PayPal freeze my account and it was not only that. I was lucky that I got new card from my bank just few days before when this happened and my old card was not valid anymore. From top of that few thousands what PayPal got my money by their actions they even try to charge over one thousand USD by using my card and they even kept asking that I should update my new card details there. For next few weeks I kept following their instructions by sending passport and driving licence copies and all kind of bank statements and all other stuff and did my best to make them happy and unfreeze my assets but without success. Finally when I went through those endless rituals few more rounds I just gave up. I was praying them to stop spam my email because I got literally hundreds of email from them. And it did not end to this. They even contacted Ladbrokes where I had small transaction to my poker account. I was playing few months there and got also decent rake back at that time. There was about just under 2000 GBP in my Ladbrokes account and Ladbrokes freeze my account because of request of PayPal. And no matter what I did with Ladbrokes they just said that I have to deal and straighten things with PayPal and they can't do nothing before they get confirm from the PayPal. And it was only one or 2 hundred what I deposited to Ladbrokes through my PayPal. There is lot of big companies like Skrill and Neteller who can freeze accounts but none of them don't put so much effort to humiliate You or punish You mentally by using those psychological means and endless email spamming. This was just my experience with few lines. Suffering was something in magnitude that I could write few books about that. PayPal has done similar actions to person who I know. She did not have power to do all those endless rituals and she did not even understand what they wanted. I was able to help her with my experience and she got her account finally unfrozen and transferred her money to the bank and has not used her PayPal account anymore. This happened to her about 2 years ago.

3 days after receiving a large sum of money that I NEED ASAP I am still getting this error message when I try to transfer my money. I called them multiple times. Spent hours on hold. They have the worst customer service imaginable. Their entire company is based on wearing out the customer, in order to use their money interest free for as long as possible. They should be shut down!

I run a medium size ebay business - around $35,000 in sales a month. Paypal found an issue where they said I was non- compliant and my account would be disabled if I did not resolve the issue in about 10 days. I immediately resolved the issue, which takes 72 hours for them to review. 5 business days later, I received the exact same message about non-compliance. I call Paypal and an employee confirms, "it looks like they didn't review the issue, it looks like they assumed you had not fixed the issue yet, I'll submit it for review again which can take up to 72 hours". By the way, nobody will even look at the issue over the long weekend. 5 days later, my Paypal account is turned off. Can't accept payments, withdraw money, anything. I'm literally losing thousands of dollars a day - I call PayPal and they assure me there is nothing they can do, the department that actually addresses issues does not accept calls. I will just have to wait another 72 hours for them to review the issue AGAIN - And now I know their 72 hours is a standard five business days or more - so I guess I'll just take the week off work without pay.

Paypal customer service has been some of the slowest and most incompetent I have ever witnessed. I am immediately looking for payment alternatives. Avoid Paypal if at all possible, they can shut down your business at a moments notice.

We run an outdoor festival. Due to weather conditions (a record high temperature), not all aspects went as planned. This is not unusual for an outdoor event... the weather can change a lot of things.
One customer demanded a refund because "the product was not as advertised",

We attempted, repeatedly, to make this customer happy, but the paypal
System just kept deleting our message and we got a "error on our end" message (meaning that the paypal system was unable to process our response to the customer)

We send a message to paypal through their "help" system, explaining that we were unable to get a message through their system and that we had even taken the step of contacting the customer directly (the customer did not reply), We only got a form letter from them telling us to use the resolution message system (um... that's the point of the message through "help"... the resolution system isn't working).
The end of the story is that the customer got refunded everything and it was made out to be the result of our inaction on the account.

Not cool... we will be deleting our paypal account and using eventbrite in the future.

1 Star Is Far Too Much
August 31, 2018

This mob are a pack of thieves relying on your money being in their account to gain interest over time. The moment you get more than $1000 in your account they restrict it and make you jump through all kinds of ridiculous hoops, some of which are impossible. They are criminals and need to be shut down. DO NOT USE PAYPAL IF YOU CAN AVOID IT USE A DIFFERENT WAY TO RECEIVE MONEY. They make you refund buyers who have already received item and have no problem and steal your money. PAYPAL ARE THIEVES and it will be a very long time before you see your money if you see it at all

Easy & Useful

For me personally, I have never had an issue with PayPal. Though, I don't get a large sum of money put into it or taken out of it. It has been easy for me to use and navigate through their website and everything is pretty self explanatory.

Long story short, PayPal takes $85 out of my bank account 8 days ago. I made a purchase today for $4 today which they charged to my bank account. I am on a medical leave from work and my income has taken a huge hit. That $4 put my bank account into a negative. So now my bank is charging me an NSF of $45. After spending close to 4 hours trying to get this sorted out, PayPal has promised to give me a "letter to give to my bank which will hopefully get them to reverse the charge. Their customer service representative Ryan, was an insolent, rude and impatient jerk. Because of their incompetence I was unable to purchase a necessary food for my fish fry. I have lost more than $500 in livestock, $45 in nsf charges, 4 hours of my own time, and probably 2 years off the life of my heart. After speaking with 2supervisors, Gerry, a very inconsiderate, apathetic individual told me that he was the highest I could go and his supervisor would not accept phone calls from the public (or wouldnt even call me back). You stole $85 from me, not to mention everything else. Karma can have a way with dealing with criminals like yourself. But I see its already doing that with E bays recent decision to go with another company and finally scrape the trash like you off the bottom of their (pretty trashy, too) shoes. I'll never buy another thing online again.
