The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

Scammed out of a $1500 printer, then burned alive by Paypal who returned payment to scammer:
Purchaser paid for item with Paypal account, picked up item and signed Bill of Sale. Four months later, complained to bank that transaction was not recognized. Paypal asked for tranaction details, in particular shipping receipts. As I did not ship product, I was deemed "guilty" and Paypal refunded money.
Paypal claim that because the scammer complained directly to their bank, they cannot not force the bank to refund funds. The supposed "seller Protection" is a total sham and would not compensate me for their error in ignoring the proof that the customer had picked up the goods. Be very wary. Use extreme caution and be ready to loose product and funds with Paypal. My suggestion- find an alternative to Paypal.
Their suggestion to me: go to local "authorities" to get my money back, but without the bank name, address and account number (because that's confidential) -nothing can be done. What rubbish!
We ordered a product key for 64-bit software on Bonanza. Unfortunately, the key we received was not working with the 64-bit software. When we complained to Bonanza we were advised the merchant was removed from their marketplace. So we requested a refund for a "product not as described" from PayPal. The claim was denied since "the product was delivered". Escalating the claim with additional explanation emphasizing the fact the delivered product was not what we ordered was denied. And our appeal was denied as well. This is the most ridiculous customer (dis)service experience I ever came across from any service provider!
Bought a sweater/paid same day/ usps delivered to wrong address/paypal denied my claim. I paid for nothing. Would you not think that it is up to the seller to get the package to me. NOOOOOOO.
THINGS HAVE CHANGED. NOT THE SAME COMPANY THEY WERE. DO NOT USE
Absolutely horrible customer service and no seller protection. I will be cancelling my account and never using again as soon my horrible situation is over. I sold an expensive item through eBay and an international hacker bought it through a buyer's legitimate account. Now I am out not only the item, but I had to refund the original buyer the cost of the item because the purchase was unauthorized. This is a PayPal issue because eBay claims it cannot assist me since the claim was through PayPal. After around five hours of talking on the phone to representatives, I have been told that there is nothing that can be done, and my money was automatically withdrawn to give to the buyer. Thanks so much for all of your seller protections, you did an absolutely horrible job and I will never use PayPal again. I highly recommend others to look towards other online financial options that actually protect their customers and work for them.
Over the past 3 months, I have ordered products from companies and used PayPal a method of payment. The items were always shipped to my current/new address. Last week I ordered several items from Groupon, and the items were shipped to an address that I no longer live at. I went to the address and the people there communicated that they do not have the products, and the post office stated that they were delivered. I contacted both Groupon and PayPal, and PayPal refuses to credit my account the money for the lost/stolen items. PayPal's customer service is outsourced to another country, and the people that I engaged with are a negative reflection on PayPal Brand. They are very argumentative and no not understand what the issue is after I explained it numerous times; I do not have the product, I have not lived at that address in the past 11 months, and I should not have to pay for products that were stolen/lost. I asked PayPal to close the account and they refuse to stating that I have to pay the balance due first. Really? Do nott use PayPal, if you have lost or stolen items that will assume that you are lying regardless of what you tell them. It appears that they are robots reading from a strip with no emotional intelligence. Visa, MC, and Walmart would have credited your account for the lost/stolen items.
They blocked my account without any reason, ibwas shocked. I never expected from PayPal. That's really shame. I was happy, not any more.
I ordered something online via PayPal. And the guy never sent me the goods! I was pissed! Anyways, within the 180 days of purchase, I asked PayPal to get my money back and they did! LOVE PAYPAL! They're creating accountability in online business situations. Highly, highly, highly recommend them!
This company is the biggest corporate scam I've ever seen in my life. I been with paypal since 2007 and my company processed over 250 thousand and recently they started holding our money on every single transaction. They ask for information for so called security purposes, we provide that information and they will still hold your money. Keep in mind paypal is not an actual financial institution but they can hold millions of dollars of people's money without an clear explanation.
HAVE HAD 4 DEALINGS WITH PAYPAL AND 3 HAVE BEEN A DISASTER. I BOUGHT AND PAID FOR ITEMS ONLINE USING PAYPAL, 3 OF THE ITEMS NEVER ARRIVED AND I TOOK OUT A CASE WITH EACH WITH THEIR "RESOLUTION CENTER" THEY WOULDN'T RESOLVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING,
ALL I GOT WAS AUTOMATED RESPONSES TO MY QUESTIONS, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL.
USELESS SHOWER OF CLOWNS, KEEP CLEAR.
They put my money on hold since November 23rd, 2018. And they were asking me to wait for up to 180 days and even give me a date I can take out my money "August 15th, 2019 they said" and until now I can take my money, it's about 400 USD.
The monopole of internet payment in the hands of a Mafia,
They will blvok your account and keep the funds for years, they do not reinburse you, they dont pay taxes in Luxembourg and they ripped off people account per 100 000...
The monopole in the hands of thiefes.
I contacted the Police of Luxembourg they have a special office for paypal there.
People do the same thing, call the cops in Luxembourg to report these jerks,.
This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. They will make up ridiculous reasons to hold your money for days. Their customer service department is ridiculous and reads from a script. They do not help in any way. The agents I have spoken to because I had the same exact problem three times, barely spoke English. They did not help in any way. They want you to get frustrated and hopefully never withdraw the money. They are ridiculous. This is the ONLY site that I have ever answered their "security" questions incorrectly. Apparently, PayPal knows us better than we know ourselves. Even if you can prove their questions are bull$#*!, they refuse to help you. Every time I tried to get my money, I had to wait another 48 hours. There is no way in hell that I will EVER use PayPal again and i will tell everyone and anyone what crooks they are and how their agents are rude and not helpful at all. Its ridiculous. And don't even bother trying to use the chat option. It's even worse than calling. All scripts, no real answers. They give you an answer to a question that you didn't ask. And when you tell them that and ask for an answer, they still give you a scripted response that doesn't help. And every time I asked to speak to a supervisor or someone who isn't reading from a script, I was conveniently disconnected or told no one was available. This business is horrible. Shame on you crooks.

I bought on a online site and PayPal was in on the scam was,
I bought on a online site, the items where not what I ordered, I contacted the seller who did not want to give me a refund or pay for return shipping. PayPay stated I have to send it back on my own, I did they said it was the wrong address, so they ruled in the sellers favor. I did not get the package back. So I'm out the shipping from the seller, the return shipping, the cost of the items and the items. This is a scam on the part of PayPal. I contacted them again and they said sorry can't help you. I feel like I have been raped, beaten and left to suffer alone. I will never use PayPal for online shopping again. If a site will only sell you something if you pay with PayPal, be very afraid. This is a scam and a rip off, and PayPal is in on it.

I found due to needing to call PP about something that my telephone number is linked to a paypal account - I do not have a paypal account.
Over the course of three weeks - obsessive - I have telephoned them to get the account removed from my telephone number; I found it disturbing after all what other details are linked to my number, bank, name, address...
Not one I have called have helped, I have had dubious excuses thrown at myself as to why, but no unlinking.
1... I have paid for something online and the online merchant has used paypal behind my back - as I rebutt when you purchase something there are clearly at least two ways to pay, paypal or a proper online card merchant, and besides surly a paypal payment would show on my bank statement - to which the phone is slammed down by them.
2... That I should contact my telephone company to have them do something about my telephone number being linked to a paypal account - rebuttal why does everyone else have to run around for paypal changing their records? - phone slammed down by them.
3... I have called paypal before.
I could go on and on with the scams and fastones they have pulled, but suffice it to say that this is a company that the employees think they can do what they want.
BTW also can not make a complaint, unless you are a member aka have agreed to their conditions and rules - WTF!
Also keeping one in a telephone queue for as long as they do is rude.
After trying different option to process my credit card sales, I came to the conclusion that PayPal has no rights and no reason to ask such privileged information. (as listed above)
If PayPal get hacked there could be some serious consequences on my business. Any scammer would be able to get large business loans because they would have absolutely all the information needed. PayPal was hired to process credit card payments and make sure it get in my bank account. I don't plan to give them any information other than my business number and my bank account number.
I since used both Square and Stripe to replace PayPal. They have work fine for me so far. There is many PayPal alternatives out there, so why give all this very sensitive information, take chances that one day they will be hacked (just a matter of time right?) and have to deal with all the risks and troubles this could cause. It's actually a little suspicious from their part. I have absolutely no regrets and don't miss Paypal what so ever.
I've been with PayPal since 2003. Always used them to process my credit card sales. All linked to my bank account as a verified seller. Over the past 16 years we have processed thousands of sales without issues. We are an honest business.
Lately I received an email stating that my account was suspended and I needed to provide a whole bunch of proofs about my business.
Paypal is a credit card processor, not a bank or government agency. The money in the PP account is not covered by CDIC. Their job is to process the credit card payment and put the money in my bank account. I feel that the information requested is none of their business. These are the information requested:
Business
Add business contact information
Proof of business registration
Officer declaration
Beneficial owner declaration
Director declaration
Identify third-party agent
Beneficial owner
Add beneficial owner
Officer
Officer information
Account
Purpose of your account
Really? Way to much sensitive information. Who would have access to this?
So, I open credit card processing account with Square and an other one with Stripe. I already processed payments in both USD and CAD. No need to give any deep business or personal information.
In conclusion I think with so many PP alternatives available there is no reasons to provide such important info to simply process credit card payments. Rather than closing it, I decided to let my Paypal account dormant. Good night PayPal... see you again in 10 years?
So i bought a game account from this seller from fortnitegenration.com and the seller immediately after sending the epic info changed the login and reset the password so i open a case with paypal as "not received"... i pointed out to them that the mail was incorrect and that i never received it but guess what paypal favours this scammer and in the end i lost both the money and the game account... im fuc*in done with paypal... i lost 150 usd... buyer protection? All B. S... thrash logic, reasoning... that seller prolly has 100s of dispute against him but you dont care or consider right cause you got zero fuc*** sense... you wrote "This decision was made because our records show that the item or service associated with this transaction was delivered to you" the actual fuc** so anyone can send random words on mail to proof as payment... yall didnt even bother to investigate or check the ip address of the mail that was access and no wonder ebay pull out from this shi*** company... fuc* you paypal
Do not deal with these people because they will treat you like a criminal if you are seller on ebay. Sold an item with no returns to a merchant who decided he didn't like it he went to ebay to return and ebay closed the case and he went to paypal fabricated a story about the item and they made me give him his money back even though I could prove everything he said was a lie. He open the item as apart and he did 3 deep scratch and i send them the whole information with the pictures I have never been through a more frustrating experience in my life.and this is not the end after return and refund the buyer and they charge me fee twice first when i sell and the second when they refund the buyer, but before that couple days i took screenshot to my paypal account showing the activity and the balance then after refund the buyer i took another screenshot and i call the " professionals " on paypal they don't know where is the different and after transferred me from one to another they found the different and right a way the refund me the fee. It's not about the fee how many seller they cut from them twice and almost no one paying attention! They are stilling money from the buyer and the seller (((( be a ware keep far if you have another option)) and everything like they said when you call PayPal is recorded?
I was calling to chase up my refund and was put on hold for over 2 hours! I gave up and tried again later. This time my patience wore out after 34 mins.
Had a dispute with a company know for fraud, called Agoda, they claim to be a hotel booking agent, they change the dates and they ask for more money, etc, this is all over the web, so many similar bad reviews, classic bait and switch. Paypal did not stand behind me, I am long time customer. I cannot be more disappointed in paypal for standing behind a fraudulent company such as Agoda.
People think that to buy in ebay is safe due to the feedbacks, and all the fortune of ebay is based on this
But this is false, for these reasons:
1
The feedback are anonimized, you can't see the nick of the ebayer who released a feedback and is impossible to contact it in order to ask for clarification
2
The feedback is too short, just 80 characters, so impossible to describe whats happened
3
Ebay remove the negative feedback of the sellers with a good business, at the request of the seller
4 often the unhappy buyers, do not release a negative feedback, because they are afraid of receiving a negative feedback from the seller, for this reason, seller wait until the buyer release a good feedback, and only then he release a good feedback for the buyer
DO NOT TRUST EBAY, AND DO NUT BUY NOTHING ON EBAY, AS ALL THE PRICES ARE CHARGED OF 14% (10% EBAY FEE PLUS 4% PAYPAL FEE)
EACH PROFESSIONAL SELLER OWN A PROPRIETARY WEB PAGE AND THE PRIVATE EBAYERS ALMOST ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME ITEM LISTED ON OTHER SITES, AS GUMTREE FOR EXAMPLE, SO SIMPLY SEARCH THE SAME ITEM OUT OF EBAY, AND YOU WILL SAVE 14% OR MORE
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
