Not great
December 29, 2020

Very difficult to contact Our time in the first place. They send you photos of men who are older than you've specified or far away at the other end of the country. They could make helpful suggestions to their members (particularly men) who could try to smile in their photos, or they are so far away from the camera you can't see what they look like. They should also make it obligatory to post a photo on their profile. I don't like having to pay for all the extra bits, they should just charge one price for everything.

I established a membership with the "Our Time" Dating website by telephone, with the assistance of an "Our Time" employee on November 18,2020. That was the absolute last time that I was ever able to get an employee on the phone. Calling their toll free number always resulted in a hang up. I found on line customer support to be completely useless. I was not given any sort of an instructional assist as to how the website operates, in particular, the member communication choices. I was never able to communicate by phone with anyone, even after paying an extra fee for that option. I finally figured out one week before my membership expired that the "on line" texting option was the only way that I could reach other members. And even then it was questionable if my messages were ever received. They have a message verification option available for an extra cost.
The one and only member correspondence that I was able to establish turned out to be a scam.

UPDATE
I disputed OurTimes charges on my credit card. My credit card researched and contacted OurTimes. My credit card accepted my disputes and refunded all of my money. I'm so happy I have a great credit card!

Date of experience: November 5, 2020

I paid the money for a 6-month subscription.
I discovered that when I send an email I get the notice, "Let Her Reply For Free." This cost $8.99 per person. So if you send 10 emails it will cost you $89.99 for her to write back to you.
The other horrible thing is that if you click the "Let Her Reply For Free", to see what it says, it automatically charges your credit card. So now I have all these extra charges on my credit card.

I did file a complaint and OurTime responded with a generic response that didn't address my issue.

Only being on this site for about 1 week, I've dealt with several people who were scammers. Not sure how this can be completely avoided, but for me, it's not worth the hassle of even trying. Maybe it's enjoyable for many, just not me. All I can say is GOOD LUCK!

I joined OurTime early September, 2020. By 23 September, my account information was reset by an unknown person. From my personal account they contacted me via text on my cell phone saying their account was deleted. He called himself Tony and called from *******886.

24 September, someone changed my photo and contacted over 100 men as me. This person changed the alerts and dating criteria so I had no clue until I checked on the 26th.

After posting a note to these men and on my profile my account was hacked, i asked several of them for the phone number they were supposed to contact. It was *******886 aka TONY.

28 September contacted OurTime. "Jamie" took me through several steps to change my pasword and other settings to kick this scammer of my profile. The attempt was unsuccessful and I just cancelled the account. My personal information is not safe with his site.

OurTime does nothing to stop "Tony" saying there are risks on all dating sites.

But you can't see them without signing up. And when you DO sign up, you discover that about 147 of those "messages" are auto genearated and sent when someone looks at your profile. You can't tell if the person you are sending a message to is a member or not, so you have a way to "insure" that they can reply for free... it only costs almost $10 per person. And that only ALLOWS them to reply... it doesn't mean that they will. And it's either a poor advertising technique or it's really slimy because if you look at a profile and close the window, a message pops up "find out when she opens it". I can't stand POF, but at least there your membership allows you to see when they read an email. This site is kind of like the airline fees... want to see who messaged you? Sign up. Want to see if they opened a mail... theres' a fee. Want to allow them to reply (not knowing if they are already a paid member)? There's another fee. And there are a lot of fake profiles. How do I know? Because you will come across a LOT of profiles that are word for word identical to other profiles.

Ourtime.com is a Total Scam
September 15, 2020

This site sends random multiple flirts to your profile professing to come from people who like your site. Rarely does your "interested" flirt return your message.

Occasionally the profile pic looks 40yrs younger than they claim to be( see attached picture).

Another example: After only two days aquaintance, Annie from Galveston, TX tells me she will be moving to TEXAS soon and wants to know if she can stay with me for free! Really!?! RED FLAG!

These people are preying on senior's loneliness. Please save your money!
I am returning to old-school techniques for meeting new people. I may still get scammed by an insincere lady, but atleast it won't be a computer assaulting me with random false profiles!

Be wary!
September 13, 2020

This site is full of scammers and when reported nothing is done. They send 6 to 8 notifications a day about your 30 matches to view even when you viewed them. They pay no attention to the age brackets you pick and send whatever including the same sex as you. When asked to cancel subscription and a refund they refused. They use old profiles to send with matches as I had several that said the were getting off 4 years before. The last week of my subscription I started having 58,47, or 28 views per day when normally less than 10. Very disheartened with my first experience of a dating site.

Recently I paid off my PayPal Credit Card. I caught a charge from PeopleMedia for a 3 month subscription of OurTime last night. I had not been an active member since March so I called & asked for it to be credited and they did. But when I saw they billed me for 3 months In June I also asked it to be credited. First they said no because They said I didn't check the box to unsubscribe which I knew wasn't true. So I called them back, this time they said I reacted to an email which only took me to a page stating I needed to subscribe (which I choose Not to) so I was charged for three months because in their contract they can charge you for reacting with their site! Beware! I don't want anything to do with a website that charges you and you reap no benefits from that subscription you didn't want in the first place! Match.com has never done that. To take a step further if you pay through PayPal and didn't cancel subscription with them Ourtime can pull money out every month as well as any other vendor you may of paid out to. Buyers beware!

Avoid - It's Terrible!
August 24, 2020

For anyone thinking of upgrading to the subscription service – forget it!

As soon as you do, the "Views" and "Likes" dry up, unless of course you pay again to "Boost" your profile.

You'll be presented with loads of ‘matches' who live literally hundreds of miles away!

You'll be blocked by some users without even interacting with them!

You'll be ignored, just like the free sites.

Ladies: No matter what they tell you, putting up a photo and a few words in your bio will not attract some George Clooney/Brad Pitt look-a-like to sweep you off your feet. Get real!

Guys: honestly, you're as well heading over to Plenty of Fish. You'll be ignored there as well, but at least you don't have to pay for the privilege.

They Ripped Me Off
August 22, 2020

I signed up for this website and canceled it after a month, 4 or 5 months later I realized they were still taking money out of my checking account so I called them. The person who answered the phone said he would make sure it was canceled but they couldn't refund me at all. I asked for a supervisor so he put me on hold then came back a few minutes later and told me they could only give me a refund for one of the months. I told him that wasn't acceptable, I had canceled my membership after using it only one month. He hung up on me and I never got me money back. I believe this site is purposefully trying to scam older people.

Very poor technically! Problems with security! Even bigger problems with scammers and gold-diggers. In other words, it's scammers' paradise, they feel great there and run rampant. Customer service ignored all my attempts to report a scammer. Do yourself a favor chaps, just stay away from them!

The bottom line is that Ourtime team makes money on recurring payments and overcharges.
They provide no real service but they just don't let you cancel, using all kinds of legal and illegal tricks. Ourtime is a hoax, maybe it was a good concept once, but its execution is very poor now, it's ridiculous. Trust me, you will do yourself a big favor, if you don't go near this "service".
