My identity got stolen and someone used my card. I had completely paid my credit card off and closed my account, I spoke to (Clair) to cancel my card also on APRIL 27th, 2021 I was charged a $38.00 Late Fee on JUNE10th, 2021. My next billing cycle is on JULY 9th, 2021 which I will get another Late Fee of $38.00.
I called today JUNE 24th, 2021 and spoke to Ms. Rhonda (RH 5) and her supervisor, Lagarie (LH 8), they are both telling me that "my card was never canceled and that a supervisor would have to listen to the conversation to take care of this and that would take 7-10 business days." I am extremely upset as this was already taken care of per (Clair) on APRIL 27th, 2021. I told them that I don't want to be charged again! Their response was "It shouldn't be but it "might" because of the 7-10 business day and the supervisor has to take care of this.
So NO, I wouldn't get this Credit Card.

A secured card was good for my credit situation. However, payments take over a week to post and reflect an accurate available amount. The second you go over the limit (sometimes via their own charges i. E. the $3 one) they report it to credit bureaus. They then wait another 4-5 weeks to report an updated balance. A few weeks ago I used the card for a security deposit for uhaul and the amount is still not credited back to my account. If you have no other options it's fine, but unreliable and inconvenient.

Satisfied so far

I am completely satisfied with this card so far! I am using it to boost my credit score so I can buy a home and within the first month 2 bureaus went up... one 39 and the other 51. It does take about 5 days or so to post payment to account so I would recommend paying no later than a week before the billing date. I just had Hulu auto pay my card and make payments online to opensky via my checking account. I would definitely recommend this card if you need a credit boost!

OpenSky/Capital Bank -- Thank You for reversing a 20 point drop in my credit which happened when I paid an old bill. Paying an old bill during CoViD just after fighting a 4 year legal battle against the worst corruption in the world should increase credit score not drop it.

I tried to close my Open Sky credit card. First, you have to wait an hour for customer service to answer because you can't close an account online. Then they say it will take TEN WEEKS to refund your security deposit. There is no earthly reason it should take that long.

WARNING: poor performance. Those who set-up this LLC "open sky", designed to bring 'poor-quality' to the end-consumer.
YOU wish to waste your time, energy, effort, dollars, precious resources and get your CREDIT SCORE WORST -- your CHOICE.
This company is designed to charge fees, when it is the COMPANY ERROR, and then you are contacting them to let them know, they DO NOT WISH TO RESOLVE, but instead reporting you to an CREDIT BUREAU for their own ERRORS that they made.
THIS Company took $70 dollars, failed to provide what they promised -- We will find a BETTER WAY to build CREDIT SCORE, but not through a 'SCHEME COMPANY' like "OPENSKY".
This company is GARBAGE complete TRASH, recommended by CREDITKARMA.

SOLUTION: go to your local bank, get a SECURED-CREDIT card, and you on the way BUILDING ACTUAL CREDIT.

Late payment fees
April 22, 2021

It took 22 days for Open Sky to post a payment. An electronic payment from my Bank. So they charged me a late fee and reported to the credit bureaus making my score go down over 100 points. My credit limit, (my original deposit of $300), was also shown as being over the limit after they charged me the late fee. I called and complained and asked if they could change the info to the credit bureau and was told no. I made 3 payments during the month, over $300, but none showed up.

A Joke to consumers

I've had services for 2 months. Spend only 90 bucks but because of their poorly operational system I've now gained 80 in charges. They suck. Looking for something a little more solid.

I have canceled my account with Open Sky and asked for my deposit back of $200 dollars I was informed that I had to wait 8 to 10 weeks. 12 weeks have passed and I still haven't received my refund. I contacted Open Sky and they said that they couldn't identify me I had to demand to speak to a Supervisor then I was finally identified stating that they had sent out a check earlier. These people have unscrupulous business practices buyer beware.

I opened this secured credit card because it was on credit karma and it has been a total nightmare. They transposed the numbers on my bank information and I kept trying to pay them and they never told me the problem. They took my payment then said it was returned so they took it out of my security deposit until it was gone. Then they charged me even more. I called over 6 times to talk to a supervisor and every time the supervisor got on the phone it hung up. They owe me over $300 now. Then they closed my account so they could keep my money. BEWARE they don't help your credit they take advantage of people with lower credit scores.

I opened this card to IMPROVE my credit. It did the exact opposite. I got billed before I got the card for the annual fee, then a rep told me to not pay my bill because I had a credit on my account. I didn't. Then I go to pay my bill and the system takes TWO PAYMENTS! So I call my bank and stop payment on those and Open Sky shuts my checking account down for information that THEIR REP TOLD ME! What kinda BS are they pulling? I'll take the credit hit and cancel this card immediately. So at FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
I just kept thinking that this is a SECURED CARD, not a credit card. So we're talking about MY MONEY, not nothing that this company gave me, I sent the money in, out of MY POCKET! GTFOHWTBS!

Just plain horrible

I've been building my credit back up by paying off my negative items. I couldn't get a real credit card so I figured I would give them a try. Now with out them I got my score from 505 to 656 in about 6 months then I gave them a try and when I pay off my balance they take over a week to process. And then added a negative item saying payment was not on time. But I'm fact my payment was early but they didn't process it right away. It's crazy like it's my money I put in and then when I paid it my balance was the same for over a week. If anything they have not helped me at all. So any of these good reviews are bull. I had a friend have the same thing happen. I'm paying it off in full and want my money back. Open sky you really are a horrible company. I should have done more research.

Still waiting

It has been almost 2 months now and I still never recieved the card or my refund check of $300 but I have received 2 bills the mail. How can I be billed for services I never retained but every time I call all they can say is the check is in the mail. I'm obviously not a rich person if I tried to retain their services to rebuild my credit and now I am out of $300

My card has not arrived after the timeframe given in the terms. The statement with the annual fee to be paid has arrived, though. I waited on hold for 10 minutes to report the card lost. Was told to either wait more time, have a replacement sent (extending the time to another 10 business days), or pay $50 to have a rush put on sending a replacement. My deposit was taken right away and has been setting in their account all this time but I don't have access. I've cancelled the account and will wait the 9 weeks for a check for my deposit (that is part of the terms and I'm sure it will take that long). I don't advise using them if you really need to begin using the money right away.

Just what I needed

I've had this card for a year now and I've not had any issues. My credit score is up 200 points and it's amazing. The card itself is nothing fancy, takes a while to report so you have to be careful of when you carry a balance and when you pay it off, but once you get the hang of that it's easy. It also takes some time to update the balance before you can make a payment and after you make a payment so it's not for someone who intends to financially rely on it. I've never had to deal with customer service so I'm not sure how they are, but I'm not sure why I'd ever have to talk to them in the first place.

If you just need something to build your awful credit, this is the perfect card. If you're looking for something to be an actual credit card for financial stability or large purchases, this is not it.

In July, I made an ACH paying my account. It processed, deducted from my bank. Come August a mark on my credit report was on there! No one could give me answers. Then, in November I sent out a payment. My bank notified me it was cashed. OPENSKY lost my payment! My bank has verified everything and still yet, Opensky won't make it right. Again, this month, I sent out payment and at the same time, sent out a payment for another card I have. The other card has already processed it and reflects on my account, Opensky still "does not have payment" which is a lie bc my bank notifies me when they received it. THEY HOLD YOUR PAYMENTS TO CHARGE YOU A LATE FEE! I've contacted my states attorney general and I'm moving forward. I have all the proof. These people are scam artists. They have illegally charged me $135 in late fees, has illegally and wrongfully reported a late charge on my credit and has ruined the chances of me getting a house. They're neglectful.

Credit increase

I received a credit increase of $4,000. T
Hey want me to put $4,000 in their account so I can use my own money. I didn't mind the first $1,000 because it was tough for me to get a card. I went over by $3.00 one month by mistake and they reported it to my credit report. So much for helping out with improving your credit. They have no intension on helping you. They just want to use your money as it sits in their account. Sucks!

I got email to apply for opensky credit card I pay 200 on November 2020, I receive a email to sent my identification and I ask them to get the money back opensky sent me a email on December 17 2020 they sent me the refund, on 23 December 2020 I call them they said my money already sent to my bank account sent that I being called them they tell me the same thing I need my money back
