The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

So I had a listing of mine flagged by the robots for violating the terms of service stating I can't selling animals. It wasn't an animal, it was a door hanging sign with a silhouette of a gecko on it. I wrote to customer service asking for a real person to review my listing... they then decided to remove 36 of my listings stating I violated the terms because I am not allowed to sell ready to make items or items that require any additional info from the customer- which isnt true at all... all of my work is original and 1 of a kind art sitting in my garage waiting to sell. I did put my ig name which is my art account to prove to customers I'm a real person and these are real items I personally made because the page is FULL OF FAKE/SCAMS. I wrote back stating that my providing proof I'm real person and clearly all of my items are original and ready to sell. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor because it feels the employee that was assigned to me was being spiteful... that request turned into them fully deleting my account without a further word to me. So apparently they are staffed by entitled spiteful children and allow essentially nothing but scams and fakes to both by and sell. I love the concept of the page but it SEVERELY needs improvement. I'd give 0 stars if I was allowed to.
I I have never dealt with so many stupid people, I post a picture, condition of item, size, if it is for child or adult, I do not hold items, I do not ship items or deliver items, the price and if it is firm or negotiable and finally the location and area I meet. People do not read they just look at a picture and say I won't and then they start asking questions that can easily be answered if they would just take the time to read. The other thing is people will comment first I won't and then look on the very first line and see my location and just stop responding back. Could they just not take the time and say sorry you're too far away but thank you. I have had people want something for nothing. A brand new pair of Timberland boots I posted for $80 I had more than 10 responses asking if they could have them for $25-30. You can report them as scammers or block them they just use a different name and get right back on there. I have been cursed out, harassed etc. Because I will not hand deliver something, donate, drive 1 hour one way, take a EBT card etc. This site is not managed well at all. Not worth the time and trouble dealing with stupid people.
They are full of scammers and I reported them yet they were still not removed... All of the metal detector ads are scams. They almost ripped me off and offerup could care less.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Never in my life have I seen such poor customer service app. I do mean NEVER. App bans accounts (friends and my own) without any explanation. Furthermore, they not only ban the phone number and email, but also the physical phone! Meaning, if you buy a phone with a previous ban, you can't set up a new account with a new email and phone number, without that account being 'shadow banned'. Basically, this means your posts won't be seen and your messages won't be seen either. The fact that the app functions this way is beyond sad and the senior leadership that came up with this should be fired. From a canon, into space. I can't wait for another app company to come by and put this app out of its misery.
I have been using offer up for a while now and within 5 months of messages to people, not 1 actually replied. No one should use this app, you should use Facebook marketplace instead. Every message I send I get a response at-least within 40 minutes. But there is more, offer up banned both my account when I did absolutely nothing neither messaged anyone or put any posts up whatsoever. Horrible app and is very easy to get scammed. GET RID OF THIS APP NOW!
Site used to be good but every since they merged with letgo things has went down hill a lot of scammer messages, long delays on deposits, and they delete items saying they are counterfeit when they are not, and they no longer respond to any messages when someone message the site with issues. And last but not least the site crashes
I've sold over 500 items and bought quite a few. After trying to post something and it being "prohibited" I emailed them in regards to why and they blocked my verified account. Instead of giving me an educated response so I could correct my post they simply blocked me for voicing my opinion. Childish customer service, reason they don't put their names in the email like any reputable company would us they lash out when asked questions. Good luck OfferUp. Marketplace is a lot less ghetto anyways.
OfferUp is run by a small group of 500 incompetent staff & a CEO who has no idea how to run an online sales platform. Thousands of complaints about the Company an F Rating from the Better Business Bureau. It's pathetic this company Scammers are still operating.
I used to use this ap when it was LetGo and it was good. But This is pretty bad. I uploaded my ad and it did not show up on the site. Their tech "support" is only available by email and it takes a day for them to help you. They emailed me back that the issue was resolved. But it wasn't. The thumbnail for the ad is there but you get an error message when you try to open it and they have yet to solve that issue. They emailed me generic advice about restarting my phone, completely ignoring the fact that I TOLD them I could see other people's ads. Just not my own. I guess I'll have to go with eBay or have a garage sale.
You going to buy anything and pretty much everything is a year old post it's ridiculous
I rated 0 nada.one star because is mandatory
They obviously are trying to get control of your cell phone or ipad. They have a scam so you have to go through there site to comminicate with any sellers or buyers, because they don't allow you to give out your contact info. Run from this idiot run site……..
Zero of four purchases worked out, only one of four sellers even responded and said he does not use this site. I paid for things which were never even shipped. This site appears to be a spoof site where pictures are uploaded after being downloaded from real sites like Etsy or eBay. They got my phone number and now I am getting aids sent to me by text. They collected a lot of personal information and of course, my credit card to pay for the item which the owner likely does not even have.
Offerup will ban your account without notice and without reason. Offerup will accept your money to post an item but will not post the actual item. After you complain and wait about a week they may refund you your money. Offerup's customer service is truly horrible. Craigslist is a much better option. My review is honestly based on my own experience with Offerup.
It is impossible to add content from a browser. Only the phone app allows content to be added or edited. This is pure garbage written for teens. Not worth anyone's time.
I had a very good experience with this site I have sold over 100 items and had a good rating from the people who I had sold to and I still have a lot of items listed on this site but back in January I filed out their request for my information to meet the new federal law on income reporting when I did this I forgot my password and I haven't been able to get from them the reset link to reset my password I have over 20 request number from them with the same response we are aware of the problem and are working on it this is now may I have sent letter to the company with no response I just requested help from the Washington state attorney general office and I have just received a response from them that offer is not response to them so their is no help if you have a problem at this time I would recommend that you stay away from this company
A terrible place to buy anything. Sellers do not answer offers nor questions. They do not remove sold items. The site only allows two days for filing a complaint/claim, and sellers may well attempt to stall buyers past this brief period. I have been through enough frustration with sellers and the system to ever want to deal with it again. There are much better on-line markets out there. Use them, and forget about this miserable excuse for one.
I Sep up a time to get a mattress from a seller sone months ago, but the seller gave me a fake address. Waiting for a long time, texted him, but no show at all.
There's a bunch of flakes on offerUp they want to argue with you about the price you should sell something for they want to price it for you. Then if you buy something you're lucky if you get what you paid for or get anything at all. Now anything you sell on OfferUp $600 or more you will receive a 1099 in the mail for taxes. They want your ID your social security number and every other detail and there's no phone number to reach them by so you're giving this to some person in an email who you don't even known or what they're really doing with it for all you know they could be selling it to someone in another country for identification purposes. It's been almost 3 weeks and I'm still waiting on nearly $300 of money that I am owed I have taken everything off since and will not do business on OfferUp ever again there's a bunch of Craigslist leftovers there there's no phone number anywhere on the net to reach anyone at offer up you cannot find a phone number for this company anywhere..
I'm trying to sell some items and I only get Scammers or stupid people asking stupid questions! Waist of time! No real people! It's horrible!
Hey racist $#*!s, nobody cares if you won't attend out of the US. That doesn't mean you can outright restrict people from reading a link if it's shared. Not happy with that you put your trash cloudflare out there to block requests?
KILL YOURSELVES.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
