The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

Do not purchase furniture on offer up. Remove legs from dining tables and chairs please! Bought one in Bakersfield CA. Roaches came from everywhere, BEWARE!
I was disappointed in the type of people this app attracts. I tried to sell a piece of expensive furniture at a low price because I have no room for it. I asked for $50 and was asked if I would sell it at $30 and later, $20. I probably will not use this app again.
Is it part of a scam running with the help of Offerup?
DO you think you will be safer if you give ALL your sensitive information to offerup?
It seems that Offerup is getting paid for Every information of an ID, Phone number, Name, Address, Email, Credit Card and Social Security number.
When you sign up for an account with Offerup, Offerup requests an EMAIL verification
Then they request your ADDRESS, then they request YOUR PHONE NUMBER verification, then they request your Payment verification (CREDIT CARD OR ACCOUNT), then if you sell, Offerup Requests your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER for Tax, Then they request a GOOD COPY OF YOUR ID front and back and a GOOD FACE PICTURE OF YOU.
Why do you think they request all that?
Don't you think it is suspicious?
When you have an IDENTITY THEIFT, remember you made the mistake that all financial institutions and government offices warned you NOT TO DO IT.
I strongly believe, Offerup is part of a scam.
Do not tell me they request all your sensitive information for your safety.
Not even your Banks application, PayPal, Amazon, Ebay, Craigslist or any other selling and buying website request all these private and financial information from their members. If about physical safety then sit at home lock all your doors, windows and do not communicate with any one, even if you do all that do you think you will be safe?
Do not tell me they promised they will not sell my information. Let me see what you are going to do with that promise after you have an identity theft and many of collection agencies are after you to pay for something you did not do.
So I just want to say that this has been a miserable experience. I had recently sold one of probably the last pairs of Nike SB P Rod. Shoes in the world and dropped them off on a Saturday at a UPS. Now they only give you 2 days to ship, and if the package isn't scanned in, then the order is cancelled. I dropped it off no more than 2 hours after the order was created, and the mail service doesn't run on Sundays, and that Monday was Labor Day. So my order was cancelled and my shoes were sent. I had to file a report, because the shoes were missing and didn't get scanned in until 3 days after the order was created. I get an email that they aren't paying me for the shoes, which would have totaled $150 plus shipping. So I not only lost a piece of sneaker head history, but also a good chunk of money. I couldn't believe that they weren't willing to work with me, and I will never recommend this website to anyone, in fact, I will go out of my way to sway people from using this service.
Horrible results. Paid for boosting a post and it got nothing. I mean nothing. It didn't meet not even a quarter of views they mentioned it would reach by paying
I sold on this app for a few years, and it was all good. But then they combined with let go and started having ads for new items at places like Walmart and others. Then they started blocking all my posts from being seen or sold. Which is totally unfair business practices! And I'm sure they'll deny they did it, but I know for sure they did. I will not do business with such people and would recommend to any and all to avoid doing any type of business with people or apps that are as shady as OfferUp is now!
I haven't had any good experiences with selling on Offer Up! People have flaked after I went to meet them. People are always trying to low ball! I haven't sold not one item on there. My prices are reasonable for what I'm selling! I think I'll remove all my items & sell them on Mercari! OFFER UP SUCKS!
I signed up for the free trial of their promote plus feature. I wasn't impressed with the results and attempted to cancel the subscription before being billed. Problem is that OfferUp doesn't make canceling an option. Therefore the free trial becomes a $19.99 trap. I reached out to OfferUp. They didn't remove Promote Plus and did not refund my money. Avoid OfferUp.
Told them when they were " Let Go" website before merger, over and over about false scam car sales ads. Like 2019 Honda Accords with 50,000 miles on them, selling for $ 1200. 00. That $ 1200. 00 price was popular even for Bugattis. Somehow it was a favorite number scammers liked using. You could count on a car going for 1200. 00 and could only respond to their fake emails. And then they end up spamming your email, address. It was a "steal, spam your email and phone number scam" running on this sales site. Suspended me forever for explaining all of this to them. They took offense to it I guess. Love other more reliable sites better. You got to pay $ 5.00 to list on Craigslist. No scamming there. Lt costs creepy scammers too much. Lol. This place no better than them cheap FREE dating sites that pop up, all over the place. All day long where all you get is fake, try to take your money rob you, ads there too. Waste of time at BEST, that only want you to send them money over internet for. Nobody regulating them either except the scammers and thieves that run them. Careful about sites that are free. I never bought anything of this site, because I spotted the scams right away. Too smart of the type of customer they looking for. Lol. You pay a price one way of another. Or risk the consequences. It is what it is. Nothing in life is free. I have to write about myself sitejabber asks. I am a great and honest no B. S, kind of guy. Not easily fooled. Enemy of scammers.
I have used offerup since the beginning and it started out with both good responses and eyes on postings while also being able to find great deals. But since the merger with letgo, it has continued to slide downhill. First, they changed their tile layout where it was fun to see the different shaped postings before. Now everything is square and uniform and it loads slower. There are way more ads now which are more and more of a nuisance. But worst of all, very few eyes on any posting now vs then. Unless you pay the promotion fees. Its like 2 views where before any posting would be dozens and sometimes much more. So selling anything or even the free item posts fewer people are seeing. And now the buying items are more junk than before where if people have anything good they would choose another method. I used to like this ap and found cool stuff and had sold a few items, but performance has really gone downhill.
I mean you can't get any help when you have problems selling your items online and you try to contact all for up they give your number but it's a scam it's not real so I need to stop messing with offer up it's no good way of selling your items from your house
I have reported over 100 scammers offering Rolex and other high end watches for under $500. They all have account dates of July 2022 and tell you to respond off platform. The accounts are all different, but the embedded contact info is always IG hypetime00. Apparently, they must get value from allowing these scammers to exist as they never do anything to stop them. Just look at the hundreds of newer Honda cars advertised for $800... At least Craigslist hammers scammers almost instantly.
I saw that OfferUp was a potentially good site to sell items. I posted several items and then OfferUp shut my account down alleging 'We noticed activity on your account that violates our Community Guidelines'. I guess posting end tables and chairs is somehow a violation. What a waste of time. I got 2 views but no other activity ie. I'm not sure how that constitutes a 'violation'. Don't bother with OfferUp. I ended up selling on Nextdoor and Facebook Marketplace.
Trying to load photos and contents, it took approx 20x tries before doing any editing. It kept on shutting down. I Wasted a few hours to keep on trying. Prior, I spent so much money on up to 3 days and Promo Plus several times, but none works... no bites. Just a bunch of BS fraud responses. This company needs to be investigated.
I attempted to download, sign up, and place an ad. Every time I attempted to do this my ad was removed. I attempted this several times. After the last one failed, I decided to emIl support for help. They were no help at all. They informed me that my postings were deleted because I was violating the rules by posting the same item multiple times. They then went on to threaten banning me because of my violation! Don't worry, I will never use this platform again. I sold my item on 5miles today! No thanks to Offerup.
I have been purchasing on Craigslist, Ebay, etc. In the short amount of time that I have been using Offer Up I had a buyer send me a false address and then she disappears. In the meantime, I loose money in delivery fees and gas reimbursement... mind you gas is at 6 + dollars a gallon. To hire a crew that uses a truck to pick up items is not cheap. I also had another seller who I inquired about a product and she demanded I pick it up. An inquiry does not equate to a sell. This site is a bit odd and has interesting characters. I have not experienced this on any other buy and sell site. Buyer be ware and very weary of purchasing from those on offer up.
Email from them - BEFORE using the site to buy or sell anything - literally no activity... saying
"We noticed activity on your account that violates our Community Guidelines As a result, we've removed your account from OfferUp" I'm assuming my account was hacked
Because I haven't even logged in since I opened it.
So inquire. 6 msgs before I received a very thin reply:
"It appears a technical issue caused your account to enter a locked state. We've made some changes that have resolved the issue. Good luck buying and selling!" LoL (as in good luck, you're going to need it!) I get the feeling it's not a very secure site, lots of reviews with spam issues and being infested with scammers. I closed my account. Craigslist is also scammer's ghetto, but we're used to it. I think the offerup ppl are just too green, and don't give a rat's $#*! about their legit users. Just saying
They deactivated my account without warning - all I've done is post Free furniture in last few days since we are moving. Apparently giving away nice free furniture is illegal according to this stupid app!?
No way to reactivate account either! Horrible, don't use them!
If you feel like being disrespected go ahead and deal with OfferUp. They don't have a problem with deleting your account without an explanation. Nor do they have a problem with ignoring your request for an explanation when you go to the customer service. Don't expect a response at all. Cuz that's what you're going to get is no response. Personally they just they deleted my account for no reason and no explanation. But they allowed me to download app again and allowed me to upload a bunch more of my items which is time-consuming and then they didn't post any of them. I don't know what's really going on with this OfferUp site but I have noticed that some people have not sold a single thing or bought a single thing but they have anywhere from 500 to over a thousand followers and following them how does that work? I don't know what's really up with this site but I know that I'm pissed and I and I feel totally disrespected time is money and I don't have time to be wasted when I'm trying to make money. When my account was active I did lots of business but I was trying to give away some free toys when they and the people kept telling me they were at my house and they weren't and pissed me off so I told them where to go and I reported them in the next thing you know my whole accounts wiped out. Not only that but when let go joint offer up they didn't bring my stuff from let go to OfferUp they just deleted my whole account then. As if it don't take time to post this stuff. And to add insult to injury now offer up keep sending me stuff via email and telling me how much big money other people are making and telling me they miss me and ask me where I've been. I wish I could get somebody on the phone but I'm thinking about just going up to Bellevue and giving them my opinion first hand. I used to think highly about her up but now I know they're just freaking a joke with no answers.
Number one platform and supporter of scammers, hackers, and criminals. They allow their platform to be utilized by these types of users and refuse to disable their accounts, remove their posts, or utilize Block to get their users money back! They are the worst! Safety concerns ignored. If you are a scammer this is the platform for you. You will not get caught and if reported you will not get penalized. You are protected 100%. This is the place to scam people and get away with it easily.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
