Site for BEGGARS

All offers for listings in this community are less than the asking price. On an average of 30%. This scavenger site and it's members are oblivious to average mark ups on consumer goods, which is far lower. DO NOT USE, unless you intend to give away your belongings, and in that case use charitable organizations. You will spend far less time than dealing with low ball offers from people that don't follow through. Deleted my account 11/24/19.

PURCHASED A ITEM THROUGH THIS OFFERUP SELLER/SELLER SOLD ME A DEFECTIVE ITEM/TRIED FOR SEVERAL WEEKS TO GET SELLER OR OFFER UP TO REFUND MY MONEY. NEVER GOT THE MONEY BACK THOUGH I RETURNED DEFECTIVE ITEM AT MY EXPENCE. OFFERUP HAS A TWO DAY WINDOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT. TOOK THE SELLER THAT LONG TO DEACTIVE THE ITEM HE SOLD ME SO I COULD CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURE TO MAKE SURE IT WAS DEFECTIVE. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFULL BUYING THROUGH OFFERUP. THEY DO NOT USE PAYPAL SO NO HELP IN RETURN OF BAD ITEMS/USE EBAY AND AMAZON WHERE YOU HAVE HELP FOR THE BUYER.

Absolutely awful company. There is ZERO buyer protection. Its a very scammy company. I will never use it again. I purchased a product with BUYER PROTECTION and it came broken and unusable. The Senior payment specialist sends me an email saying I have 3 days to respond with pictures of the product. On the 3rd day, I sent the pictures and they said the case was closed because I took to long to respond with pictures even though it was the 3rd day from receiving the email. KATIE IS AWEFUL IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. I deleted the app and will never use again and not recommend it to ANYONE!

Here is another complete failure that is shared in a large part by the sellers. The biggest joke I see when someone is trying to ship something that weighs in excess of a hundred pounds and it's so obvious and OfferUp shipping rules Clearly say the item cannot be in excess of 20 lbs. And here is well the sellers don't like to answer questions or even reply to messages but these are self-inflicted wounds because their description of the item they're selling is so vague. Real simple solution to major problem is to make the ads expire after 30 days hello? This is not rocket science. I've seen ads on there that are more than a year old totally unacceptable.

I AM POWER SELLER ON OFFERUP BEEN SELLING OVER 5 YEARS AND I HAVE SOLD OVER 500 ITEMS ON THIS SITE. BUT I WILL NEVER SHIP AGAIN I TRIED A FEW TIMES AND MY ITEMS WAS COMPROMISED MORE THAN I WAS PAID. THE COSTOMER WILL GET YOUR ITEM FILE A BUYERS PROTECTION CLAIM AND STATING THAT THE ITEMS IS NOT THE DESCRIBE ITEM AND OFFERUP GOES WITH THEY WORD NO MATTER. WELL I HAVE QUITE A FEW EMPTY BOX AND OLD TRASH BACK AND OFFERUP GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS AND CLOSE THE CASE AND NOTHING YOU CAN DO THEY KEEP YOUR ITEMS AND MONEY!

I keep getting burned on this site as a buyer. I'll drive miles out only for no shows and sellers are selling me defective items with no consequences or refunds. Waste of time and money. I'm done.

It's been 11 months and I still haven't been paid for several items that customers received, but because the tracking didn't update in their system they cancel the order the customers received the item and bonus for them they get it free of charge. Then you try and explain the situation to the nonexistent customer service department and you get blocked. It's a couple hundred dollars and to some that's nothing but to a struggling single mother it was deciding to pay rent or get my child a Christmas present last year. I decided the later that eventually I ended up losing my house. Its not offer ups fault, but they contributed. Stealing my money and then robbing me again by blocking my account. The hours days weeks spent just gone. I just hope this review helps one person decide not to participate in this app. All I can say is check them out on BBB

I have been on OfferUp for three years I have five stars I have almost 500 positive reviews. Recently OfferUp has started the shipping program. I have over 2,000 items I decided to start shipping and at first it was excellent then I started noticing that the money was not being deposited. At last check I was over $200 it appeared that right when I started complaining about why they were not releasing my funds that is when I was banned. I am a single mother it has been over one month I have not received one email one phone call not one thing from OfferUp. Also I still have not received my money and all of my customers have the product and are satisfied. How is it possible at this company can make commercials and I know for a fact that they've done this with other people that when you Google them it doesn't show up it's disgusting and it's despicable they're taking advantage the everyday American. The fact that they have hundreds of millions of dollars they think that they are untouchable. Please be wary please do your research look at the Better Business Bureau they have so many complaints and they have not responded to one.

I text and email... no... no... reply at all... its terrible... and the repost fee, to repost a car... woooww... but they sure did charge me... but the post never showed up at all. Twice in a roll... i was so so disappointed in all this... they should have a team working on all there problems. Cause if they do... they should be all fired and hire a new team... cause this app could be so awesome... peace out...

Worse then blocking you they also dont tell you youre being blocked so you cont to sell or shop without knowing it until you realize your not receiving any messages and the items your selling arent showing up. They are the worst with no customer service if you run into problems. Go suck it Offer Up from someone who used to be a loyal member. I hope you go out of biz soon which Im guessing will happen reading any reviews about you. A great promise of a company that for some reason stopped caring and failed.

Extremely frustrating to use as a Seller. Items are randomly and arbitrarily flagged. There is no clear guidance from Support on what is and isn't allowed and half the time it is a coin toss when you contact support as to whether or not your item will be reinstated, regardless of whether or not you are following the written rules or not. Basically, it seems all authority is given to individual support personnel which leads to completely arbitrary application of the rules. I've literally received several notices from them with contradictory statements in the notice and when I asked for clarification was simply brushed off.

I posted a item and I did the research of what this was selling for, it was a brand new item. This idiot guy emails me and offers 20.00 on a 85.00 item and then tells me he saw it on eBay for 30.00 but yet still lowball me, cheap people trying to screw the seller. I checked on eBay before I posted it, this guy is so stupid he said eBay does not sell used items, either way my item new went for exactly what I posted it for. I even went on eBay and forwarded my same item for the exact same price. Idiot kept harassing me. I did block him and reported him... so sellers beware. He said he was from Lakeview, ca. CHEAP GUY

Sold an item. Buyer tampered with it then files claim with offer up for defective item which they upheld these ppl are nothing but scsmmers!

The biggest problem is OfferUp's Support is near non-existant. I'm a power seller, meaning at any given time I have 500-1000 offers listed. I'm constantly having things taken down mistakenly. When you can get a response from Support, I've always had it reinstated. But it has often taken me 5 different emails to support just to get a response of any kind. Secondly, there is a hugh problem with fake buying accounts trying to get you to go to some other site or take communication off OfferUp. Lastly is the whole limitation of only being able to list offers from your phone? Why the hell would you do that? Its a shame because OfferUp really could be awesome. But it feels like it is just getting worse and worse.

Most of the sellers are scam artists or never deliver the products you buy. Customer service is a joke. If you report sellers for misrepresenting items or never sending your stuff, the seller will just give you a negative rating as a buyer and OfferUp will refuse to do anything about it, even with chat transcripts and pictures showing the seller is clearly lying.

This site will be out of business shortly. But in the meantime, STAY AWAY FROM OFFERUP!

I think you're better off mowing your lawn at your house at least something got accomplished. Everyone on offer up once items for pennies on the dollar and most of them never even show up after setting an appointment! I'm sick of offer up giving me notifications on items I don't want to buy!

The actual process of posting a listing is fairly easy, however, there are some oddities. Weird thing #1: your allowed shipping price is based solely and only on the item price.
#2: The maximum allowed listing value is only $500. This part was weird to me.
#3: you can view, use, and buy on the website or phone, but if you want to list, you can only use your phone... this was both infuriating and a bit stupid. I give this site a rating of 3/5 and its only redeeming itself because of the buying experience, otherwise it would get a solid 1.5/5.

People message you saying they want stuff, I write back and **crickets** it's like the people aren't real people. I can understand 1 or 2 not writing back but it happens EVERY time. I think it's a big scam app.
