The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

I was a seller on OfferUp. I sold several items including an antique Greek olive jar, which you are required to use OfferUp's USPS mailing label, which I did. I packed the jar in layers of bubblewrap, boxed it with more bubble wrap and labeled the box on ALL SIX sides: FRAGILE. The item arrived to the buyer broken, the box was intact but the item broke, this was over Christmas 2020, obviously USPS dropped, threw, whatever to the box and broke it. The buyer texted me via the OfferUp site that it arrived broke and she was surprised as it was 'wrapped and packaged well'. OfferUp would not support their shipping and told me THEIR observation was that it was not packaged properly, BS. IF they used UPS, there is a auto, free, max $100 insurance. Using their label, USPS, no insurance, I could not buy insurance, OfferUp would NOT stand by their method of shipping and lack of insurance, all for a $75 item! HORRIBLE, go with Chairish, 1stDibs, BUT STAY AWAY FROM OFFERUP!
Buyer beware there's more scam artist on here they post the same pictures of the same stuff they're selling and have different names out there good luck if you buy. I am pretty much done with the OfferUp they Cannot control their side. They take pictures of my credit card and get all the information in the world on me. But nothing on the thieves out there and they're so easy to spot and they still won't get them all I'm finished with it. Look at the pictures I posted same phone by different people.
I purchased a generator for a total of $558 with shipping. I got a tracking number, a few days later it
showed the item was delivered however I never received it, I immediately contacted OfferUp they told me to file a claim, normally you have 3 days from the receiving date to get it done; I did that the same day and I got a message that "the time allowed to submit my claim had expired". I contacted the seller and he acknowledged that the package ended up somewhere else, I sent that information to OFFERUP and they still would not reverse the charges, now I'm sending all the proof to my credit card company, hopefully I'll get my credit. Also while browsing I found exactly the same pictures of the generator that I purchased listed by other people. I notified OfferUp I got a "thank you" for reporting the issue and they'll investigate. Too bad I can't give them less than 1 star.
WORD OF ADVICE
Beware of scams, only deal with local sellers that you can pick up the item and pay in cash.
I sold a cell phone through OfferUp it was the first time I use them for a long distance sale. They brokered the sale took a percentage and sent me a shipping label. Shipped it out during the weekend. I guess shipping label didn't get scanned until Monday as I live in an area considered rural and the post office doesn't work over the weekend. Long story the transaction was canceled after After I shipped and I was never paid. I have tracking saying item arrived to buyer and written confirmation that buyer received the phone. And they've refused to pay me saying they issue the money back to buyer. And will not investigate or do anything about it. I've attempted to reach out to them 3-4 times about it and nothing. Very horrible service. Not trust worthy not one bit. Will never used them ever again.
Now it is cluttered with many subcategories and ads, runs slowly, notifications don't work correctly. They need to go back to the simpler format they had. The app just plain sucks now...
The new OfferUp let it go app sucks I cant find anything fast or easy like before will not use anymore
After looking at ads for days I realized that almost all the ads are old some as much as 2 years old. Why would a site keep old ads?
Offer up sucks. All they try to do is get you to pay to advertise your stuff in order to sell anything. On let go i sold tons of different stuff super fast all the time. That all changed when it got bought by offerup. Im deleting my offerup account. Its sucks and is a waste of time.
I am very "scam conscience" but I did purchase something thru offerup that was too good to be true. Long story short... I got scammed. I knew it very early on so I contacted offer up but they gave me zero assistance. Calling the cops is their only advice. I deleted the app and suggest you to do the same. Merry Christmas yall.
I live in a rural area and am interested in purchasing a used washing machine... I was very excited to find the offer up app and see many used washing machines in my immediate area... So I responded to several of the listing using the ASK function and had one response out of five... and that response took 3 days for the party to say YES when I asked if the item was still available... I quickly responded asking the party if we could set something up so I could look at the products she was interested in selling (washer/dryer combo)... Never heard from her again... and the other four listings i inquired about never responded period... So I am baffled as to why people would list stuff and make no effort to sell... Another thing I noticed is that I will see stuff listed with a SOLD sign next to it... Who cares if something is sold it is gone... period... Craigs List is much more professional and I have had decent success using this website... Regards... VSR
I use to love offer up and was on it several times through the day all day long seeing what's new. But for some reason they decided to change the app after they got together with let go. It is a strong word I know but I Hate the new app so much I'm maybe on it 4 or 5 times a week now. Can't seam to find things easily anymore so I went back to Craigslist.
I bought a Google nest mini for $15 ( Actual cost is $30) Received a sealed pack as mentioned in the listing. Shipping charges for genuine $3.29.
Offer up doesn't really appear to want to investigate scans. I have tried to find a way to report a scam through their website after 5 minutes of searching I could not find any way to report a scam to them. There service is terrible.
I contacted both seller and Offerup immediately with pictures regarding an open package as well as spilling contents... further the seller never even sent what he promised... Offerup ignored all requests until AFTER the 2 day "period" at which point they told me "it was too late" I can't begin to describe how clearly unethical and fraudulent this company is. They purchased Letgo and since then, there are numerous reports of this company failing to mitigate anything online. They will not honor the "protection" and they will lie to your face...
Offer up charged my buyer but did not pay me my money!
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
I mailed my item to the buyer but the post office was late scanning it in so Offer Up cancelled the sale. Yet the buyer received the item I mailed!
Anything messed up at all and they tell you tough $#*!... I have to get the money from the buyer!
I have made 9 offers to 9 different customers over a 1 week time span, several messages to each. I have not gotten one single response. This can not be a coincidence! The site is at fault!
You will quickly realize when you start to use OfferUp that the site makes it easy for scammers and as hard as possible for legitimate customers. They got it all backwards. Do not use this site for anything except local meetups otherwise the odds of you getting scammed or losing money is not worth the risk.
FORGET about customer Service if you have an issue. Their own instructions to request a refund do not show up where it tells you to go and click. Their support is less than Pathetic. I've had 2 good purchases where I picked up... BUT not worth anything for when you run into a problem... (and you WILL)... You'll find so many repetitive complaints if you google Complaints and reviews for Offerup.com. I recommend Highly for you to Not use Offer Up.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
