The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

When they purchased Letgo, the percentave of items that were scams skyrocketed. It's blatantly obvious that their ambitions are bigger than their ability to protect the buyers and sellers. Two days just isnt enough time to verify that a laptop or smartphone is no blaclisted or have some hidden issues. Sellers can have a buy-it-now option but just decide not to ship and the buyer can't even leave a review for the terrible experience. If you can only leave feedback when a process completes, most will never be warned of scammers or those with terrible customer service.
Offer up always been a great websites to sell stuff and
I dont know why people said bad thing aout them and some reason
My sells been down and hope it get better by christmas and
Thanks Ryan long time seller
Every time Offerup 'updates' their app (forced update, no option to stay old version), it GETS WORSE.
Examples: deletes ANY DIGITS from ad text. BLOCKS me from posting ads, as if they're banned items (THEYRE NOT).
GETS SLOWER with all the garbage ads.
User interface GETS WORSE.
AND NOW I CANT POST OR EDIT ADS ON A PC, which requires using a phone app, which sucks!
Now, on to 'customer support". There is none. They have no phone, no chat support, and NO ON EVER ANSWERS if you submit a ticket for help.
No wonder offerup bought out Letgo.
If Offerup keeps sticking it to consumers, i advise ALL users to go elsewhere.
Offerup would be worth more if you put it in a trash can and sold it. Offerup is a sorry excuse for an application. It is digusting at the very most, there is not enough words in any language in the world to be able to articulate how utterly garbage this "thing" for lack of better word is. Offerup is like a kid you aborted but was born without you knowing when you took a $#*! and survived in the sewer. My Nintendo 64 has a faster smoother feeling UI system then this piece of $#*!. The fact that I had Offerup installed on my phone makes me want to consider burning it, freezing it, than throwing it in the middle of the pacific ocean, than nuking that entire radius of ocean. Offerup's management quite literally told me that if a customer buys replaces and than returns another item to you that they don't give a $#*! and that its completely my fault. $#*! Offerup don't use it use something that's worth calling an app.
Seems all the second hand online buy/sell apps are nothing more than scams these days... again the internet making the world worse off.
Should really add a zero star rating.
Cancel account with no reason don't answer your questions and banda you and don't And don't try to So please do not recommend offer up to anybody and OFFERUP
I have made (1) successful purchase through offerup. Trying to sort through all of the ads that were posted over 1 or 2 years ago or contacting sellers on an item that was sold but the post wasnt removed or marked as sold is just to frustrating and a waste of time. There should be a way that offerup could improve on this.
Offerup is the worst selling app I've ever tried.
They won't allow you to list your phone number or email.
They are the worst place to advertise anything of some value like a vehicle because you won't get any serious replies even when you pay up the nose and promote.
I will no longer do business with them. Their app is too dysfunctional the buyer somehow requested a refund but I clicked on their inbox it says forbidden error 5gg143v4
Their two day protection has expired so when am I getting my money? Even though it's $10.00 no biggie I still want it for gas or something.
Will not scan any credit card. Kind of defeats the purpose of any ecommerce site if you can't pay for anything. Waste of time. What a joke. No wonder items are still listed after many month on that site. Support is nonexistent. Don't waste your time on this site.
This site was created by and ran by scammers. I looked up a product and 99% of the products I saw were scams. Don't waste your time on this site.
This app for some reason is horrible. I get messaged everyday by someone saying they want to buy my item and i reply and then i never hear from them again! I have so many items that are inexpensive but nothing gets sold! Never had this problem in california with other ones. And theres no way of reaching them to figure out how to fix/ block all the scammers and getting their help. What kind of business leaves no way of communicating with them?!
There are more scam ads then real ads. I have asked OfferUp why they let the obvious scammers to keep posting but no response from OfferUp and of course they do not delete any of the scam ads. I am so tired of people saying I can't respond through OfferUp you must use my gmail. OfferUp promotes scamming.
1) 90% of the users are scammers
2) 8% of the users are flakes (when you ask questions, they don't respond, when a deal is made they back out, or if you meet them in person its the wrong product or not as described - i. E. "new")
3) The remining 2% of sellers are legitimate but not nearby (when it comes to make a purchase, the App does not work as at checkout it asks to scan my credit card with the OfferUp App, which freezes - I tried 3 different credit cards and 1 debit card). Other users have complained about the OfferUp Credit Scanner not working.
4) Poor customer service (when you call their customer service line, you cant get a hold of a live person or leave a message). When you use the OfferUp App to get help, you receive an email about 4 days later with "links" to their help section on their help webpage which does not have any solutions. When you respond to their email, their customer support will send you a Bot email to the same useless links.
5) The OfferUp App is slow, large in size, almost 270 Mb, uses up RAM, and a battery waster for phones!
* In summary, this App is a waste of time, not safe, and one cannot make a purchase through their App. Don't waste your time!
It's the worse place ever to sell something. They will make things impossible to sell anything there
And they will remove your account with no explanation or reason. Customer service SUCKS! You will never talk to anybody and they just make their own removals just because!
THIS PLACE SUCKs!
I was selling my iphone 12 pro max and I did everything over OfferUp and finally met up with the person he scammed me out of 700 dollars mind you I'm selling the item because I needed the money so not only did he take my merchandise he gave counterfeit money I reached out to offer up and they are no help can someone help me out to who I can report to I made a police report and I reached out to my carrier but Im just assed out of my money and my merchandise!
Advertising from 3 years ago, ridiculous app.
A lot scan ads, nobody take out old ads.
Scan scan scan, and old ADs.
I've used offerup for 3 years without issue then the other day I posted my firestick for sale. First they removed my ad and sent an email that I violated their policy. They didn't say what policy, so I messaged them back that I didn't think I had violated a policy since there are numerous streaming devices on the site. 10 minutes later they closed my account. Wtf, talk about an abusive site, don't reply what if any violation was committed, just close the account for questioning. Horrible service. Unfortunately some businesses become this way when they get to big. I don't think I will return to them in the future. Horrible business practice.
After spending almost $200 on an item I didn't get it and offer up did not allow my refund even though I claimed it well within the time period. This site sucks! There's no customer service number no way to get a hold of them it's just f****** ridiculous you have no protection when you buy from here!
This joke of an app deserves ZERO stars! I was scammed out of $650! No way I'm getting my money back. Their customer service doesn't care about you and protects the scammers instead of the consumers. Please don't use this app ever! The offer that I was scammed with has created over 40 scam accounts on this app with the same or similar description, different variations of the same name or new names and different locations dating back to April 2021. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. If you want to be scammed and never get your money back then this is the perfect app for you. I reported all the fake scam accounts and posts but this company doesn't care enough to stop them. If you don't believe me look it up on Google. There's tons of review websites with complaints about this app. OfferUp has been getting this types of complaints since 2018 and haven't done squat to fix it. A person even tried to sue them which you can see as well. The CEO went as far as telling people to post about their experiences on YouTube when clearly all they want is the free advertisement. STAY AWAY! This app makes MILLIONS. And they will forever scam people even during a PANDEMIC! Take your hard, earned money elsewhere. You've been warned. Highly disappointed.
P.S. If you liked LetGo who has merged with OfferUp then you (buyer or seller) will be scammed as well.
*Note: I added a few of the accounts since there's many as proof. I'm sure they're creating many, many more to scam people from all over the country. They've been doing this for almost 6 MONTHS!
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
