Comfortable place to stay with many attractions for the kids like a lagoon pool only about 1 metre deep, a warm outdoor spa, fully-self contained with kitchens etc, some aircons, a small arcade machine/pinball room PLUS right opposite the sandy beach of Coolangatta. Coolangatta is a beautiful surf beach with a long expanse of white sand patrolled by lifesavers if you swim between the flags. This beach has shark net protectlion. At the Oaks Hotel, Calypso, Coolangatta, you get what you pay for. Top 4th Floor are the executive apartments which do not come cheap but have fantastic sea views over two levels with balconies. Ground floor apartments have garden patios and the 1st Floor well many of them face the street so are cheaper. Some have interconnecting rooms. I have stayed there twice so I know the setup. Many restaurants and cafes surround this huge building. Beautiful tropical gardens around this place.
