Bias newspapet
July 7, 2022

Liberals love drinking the koolaide dispensed from this paper. They can't think on their own. This paper is part of what's wrong with our country right now.

Upsetting. I want to delete my account. No one could help on the phone or over the chat. Just terrible customer service. For such a big company, it doesn't seem they care or value their customers.

I am a long time subscriber, who has grown to hate them with a passion. The only similar company is Directv. They sell you a subscription for a premium price - then keep shrinking what it covers and try to sell you more stuff - they put up recipes, then put up a pay wall in the middle of you trying to cook them, they review items with wirecutter, then put up a paywall if you flag it and come back to it later. Slimiest of slimey practices. Should be truly ashamed of themselves

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I've had an issue with my delivery ever since I started subscribing and every time theres a missing newspaper I report it to them just to get a generic response of

"Thank you so much for waiting I know it is not an ideal experience. Since we subcontract local Delivery partners, we rely on our readers to inform us when delivery issues occur, in order to be able to address it.

Therefore thank you for bringing this to our attention, as it helps us improve our service, so we can hold our partner accountable towards your expectations."

They offer you nothing but generic responses and are absolutely incompetent.

Censorship is real. Creepy. I made a comment about 6 corporations and 15 billionaires owning the mainstream media in the United States and correctly stated that they have an agenda and are trying to divide us and then encouraged people not to fall for it and stick together. I said it's not left vs. right, but the billionaire 1% oligarchs vs the rest of us and they would not print that comment. Straight out of the twilight zone. I am not making this up and I am not a conspiracy theorist. Sickening. I will never go back to them, they really are fake news... unbelievable...

The worse thing it can happen to a newspaper is to replace facts by political preferences. Many many people are not interested on journalists opinion. What we really want is to know what is really happening in the World! Shame on you! Lula cannot go to the streets in Brazil because the big major part of population saw and is aware of all the Car Wash corruption! They returned R$5 billion dollars back to government. Why did Times not make this question to Lula? Ridiculous! Terrible job...

I can't get it, I pay for home delivery and two weeks in a row no paper. So for you New Yorkers moving to Sussex County Delaware good luck getting home delivery.
The problem is they use the Delaware News Journal as their delivery service and they are useless.

Not worth the monthly recurring cost. NYTimes doesn't allow you to cancel your subscription yourself by logging in online. You either have to call customer service or chat with them. Then when you are trying to cancel they try to offer you other products when all you want to do is cancel. Bad experience. Would not try again.

This is what they list as their cancellation process:

There are several ways to unsubscribe from The Times. Once your subscription has been cancelled you will have limited access to The New York Times's content.

Speak with a Customer Care Advocate
Call us at *******612 if you are in the U.S. Our hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. E. T. Monday to Friday, and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. E. T. On weekends and holidays.
Please see our international contact information if you are outside of the U.S.

Chat with a Customer Care Advocate
Click the "Chat" button to the right or bottom of this page to chat with a Care Advocate. Chat is accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

January 10,2022 at 9:35 a.m. my credit card was charged for the subscription service. Seeing this, I was reminded I needed to cancel the subscription which I had since February 2021 but rarely used. I clicked cancel subscription in the Account section on the NYT website and was redirected to a page telling me there are "many ways" to cancel, the options being Chat with or Call customer service. I chose chat because I was at work and it seemed more convenient... big mistake! Starting at 10:30 a.m. I was left "waiting" in queue for a representative, after thirty minutes they never came. At 3:20 p.m. I tried chat again, this time I got a rep but instead of canceling the subscription they kept trying to make me stay with a different payment plan which I declined. Thus, I was handed off to a new rep (without warning), this one tried to get me to stay as well but after I again detailed why I did not want the subscription, they finally cancelled my subscription but "hung up" on me when I asked why I would NOT be reimbursed for the 9:35 a.m. credit card charge for renewal. I was then handed off to a third representative who sent me a link detailing refund policy. Considering the charge occured that morning, I was upset because I didn't want the service and hadn't used the service in some time yet still had to pay for it. Topping this, the cacellation process felt like a stickup where not only was I handed around like a hot potato, the reps kept trying to make me buy more stuff! Do NOT subscribe to this site, it is a joke.

Delivery issue
December 26, 2021

I subscribe to a weekend service. I live in an Apartment building. I have tried in vain to get them to deliver to my apartment as they did Pre-COVID however they deliver to the lobby. I do NOT live in the lobby. It's like going to a restaurant and your waiter sets up chairs and a table in the bathroom. Or you have a home with a New York Time mail box and it is tossed at your garage. This doesn't work for this 72 year old. Here is proof that I have been in communication with them: Kristen B (The New York Times Customer Care)

I decided to buy a yearly subscription to the NY Times for a friend. I went online and came across a promotion ON THE NY TIMES WEBSITE which offered a number of options to choose from. The option I choose was the last choice and the most expensive. The option I selected was a 1 year home delivery and digital subscription. The listed price of $525 was crossed out and next to it was $260.

After making the choice, I was asked the zip code delivery was to be made to. I inserted ******* and it took me to a screen where the price became $10/week which comes to $520 annual. Just for my own amusement I input zip codes in NY and the same price came up.

I called the NY Times and spoke to Nick who was pleasant. I explained what transpired and he acknowledged he just had a similar call. Nick told me to write a letter. I told him I waned to speak to his supervisor. I was transferred to Veronica who was identified herself as a Manager and was aware of this promotion. She told me there was NOTHING she could do to get me the $260 price and I had to do it online. I reminded her that the reason I was calling was because the price changed online. She repeated there was NOTHING she could do.

I asked to speak to her Manager. She stated there was noone else to talk with. I am going to try and attach the NY TIMES AD BELOW

I'm a decade long subscriber to NY Times and find their monetization efforts around regular recipes featured in their daily "paper" quite maddening. When you go to access a recipe featured in the regular coverage (I'm a paid subscriber) an AD for the NYT Cooking App pops up and you cannot access the recipe. I don't need access to the full NYT Cooking recipe database and articles, I just want access to the recipes pushed outward in the regular newspaper coverage of FOOD. Interestingly, the NYTimes themselves differentiate between FOOD and COOKING content, but they reach for more money into my pocket for content that should be available to me as a longtime paying subscriber. Piggy behavior and I'm calling it out.

The Times is a great magazine, but the customer account interface is abysmal. I'm trying to cancel my digital subscription because I don't use it enough. You CAN'T cancel without either phoning or chatting with customer service. Ridiculous. I had to wait ten minutes to get answered on the chat, and now of course they are giving me a sales pitch and trying to get me to keep it. Fifteen minutes. Just to cancel.

Poor delivery servixe
September 26, 2021

The delivery team, which the NY TImes says is outsourced, refuses to deliver the paper to my apartment door. They leave the paper in the lobby. Before Covid, delivery was as expected. Now that restrictions are lifted, the delivery people have become lazy and refuse to do their job despite my numerous complaints to the NYTimes and attempts by doormen to insist. I am considering to cancel my subscription. To those who say it is difficult to cancel, I advise you to contact your credit card company. I am extremely annoyed by this poor service. I end up paying the times for delivery and a handy man to bring it up. Maybe I should ask for a discount since they don't fully deliver.

They got the Iraq War wrong. Big miss. They censor reader comments that are critical of the paper or reporting. Many of their recipes are inaccurate; yet they charge a premium for access. Subscriptions are overpriced. They disclose with anonymous sources israeli tactics to infiltrate Iran. Why tell our enemies this? All this for starters.
