BIG WARNING: There is a very strict cancelation and NO REFUND policy. They don't want you to stop paying them. I made a one-time first payment, and then they billed me again the following year. I called within 14 days, and they refused to reimburse me. They kept saying I can only get reimbursed if I canceled 14 days after the original first year. The program helps you rethink what foods you should eat and not eat like many other programs. The recipes are similar to those you find for free online.
With no heads up whatsoever NOOM charged me a renewal fee of $150 I have not accessed Noom in over a year as I found zero value in it. I contacted their customer service and after a lengthy chat was basically told "haha too late, we have your money". I asked for any other contact information but just received an auto chat pointing me to their refund policy (which is NO REFUNDS EVER). They clearly scam people and their profits are based on charging credit cards of unsuspecting folks. Despicable!
Signed up for a 7 day free trial of Noom on 3/16/23 at 3pm in the afternoon. After one week, I have gained 2 pounds, so this morning 3/23/23, I got on noom portal to cancel my account, which was done. An hour later my credit card is charged. Now I cannot log in my account because it is erased and they will not refund me my money. I told them today is my 7th day and technically doesn't end until 3pm when it initially started last week. Well, boy was I wrong. They proceed to tell me I needed to cancel 24 hours before my free trial ends. Well that means I don't get a full 7 days to see if this plan will work for me. Not to mention the first day you do nothing as far as tracking etc, just read a few articles. Very disappointed Overall and now I've been charged $130 for something I can't even access. Unbelievable.
Lots of promises, lots of assurances that the bad app was fixed. Lots of tech problems. No way to contact tech support directly without going through a Byzantine maze. Promises one-on-one coaching but the coaches change willy-nilly. One of my coaches said her name was X when actually it was another name completely. Coaches disappear for weeks on end. The only time they pay attention is when you resign. I was given a gift certificate but can't get the person who gave it to me any sort of refund because it was a gift. Don't fall for it.
Because they will take it and the app is garbage. If you already know that a cheeseburger isn't as good for you as a salad….do not do it! I never agreed to pay $200 for a 6 month subscription but yet here I am. Lots of money gone for absolutely nothing!
I started noom in November, 2022 and have loved it! I don't mind the overall price considering it includes an app where I am able to log my meals while the app calculates my calories for me, log my weight, learn new recipes, and best of all… learn so much about my eating habits and what I can do to work toward changing them for 8 months! The only piece I've had a bit of a difficult time with is the cost of the Behavior Coach. Unfortunately, the cost of the behavior coach is monthly and pricey but my Behavior Coach has been super motivating, and helps keep me on track with my individual goals. Therefore, I have decided it's worth the money in order to feel better about myself and work towards making healthier choices. Noom has helped me to lose weight and have more confidence in myself while other programs only ended up making me feel like a failure. Noom is based off research and everything is written by psychologists and it has never made me feel guilty for making choices that aren't as healthy, it just helps me to stay on track and remember that I am human and it's ok to have foods that aren't as healthy sometimes too. I have referred a number of friends and family to noom already!
I actually liked the Noom program. I decided to go at it this time without a coach. I liked that I could record my weight and meals. I even read all of the articles on a daily basis. I signed up for the annual subscription since it was cheaper. What I did not like was the fact that it was automatically renewed at the cost of $214. It states that you are able to cancel and takes you through the process. But, you are unable to cancel since they say the contract stated automatic renewal. It would be canceled in a year's time. I then made a phone call and was told the same thing. I informed them that I was going to cancel through my PayPal account. They then refunded the $214 as a one time courtesy. This was time consuming. I suggest, if you do sign up for Noom that you are aware of the recurring charges.
I would give this 0 stars if I could. This app was not helpful in the slightest. However, my biggest issue is with their deceptive advertising and how I was treated when I tried to cancel. I felt duped into buying the "subscription" which was going to last for four months. The app repeatedly hounds you to purchase a subscription and one wayward click and it's all over. When I tried to cancel after approximately three weeks, I was told I was only eligible for a refund if I cancelled within 14 days. I don't know how anyone trying a weight loss program would be able to decide if a weight loss app is helpful in less than two weeks. When I complained, I was essentially told "too bad" and that I'd be paying for the full 4 months, whether I used it or not. This was especially distressing given that my delay had to do with a death in the family. They did not care.
They automatically renew and keep charging you even if you're not using the app. And they are unwilling to give any refund. I NEVER even opened the app.
I originally subscribed to the app last year but found it did not work for me and deleted it. I was unaware that it would automatically renew and was surprised to see a $150+ charge on my credit card with no warning. I immediately canceled my subscription and requested a refund but was told via email I was "no longer eligible." I pushed back once more and magically received a refund, which I appreciated. However, the way the company handled the situation left a negative impression. The automatic renewal policy is shady and not in line with industry standards. The company's recent $62M class action suit settlement over similar issues also raises concerns about its business practices.
Noom move away from small groups and put everyone in an area called circles with almost zero guidance on how to navigate this area. This was after they had trimmed their coaching ranks to save money. I signed up for Noom the way it was and now I am not getting what I payed for. So much frustration with the app and customer service is an absolute joke with this company. They really do not care anything about you aside from your subscription fee. Look elsewhere for help changing your mindset about food.
Noom does not care about the customers health, all they care about is how long they can keep you on the subscription. I called on behalf of my 75 year old mother who was unaware that she had the subscription on auto pay. (She's not good with technology) She kept getting charged $161.10 every 8 months not knowing why. This impacted her finances severely because she is currently retired and just living off social security. I (her daughter 26) called Noom customer service requesting a refund of the last charge and they refused to give the money back. The supervisor was extremely rude and just kept reading the text of their "policy and fine print" that states they are allowed to auto draft their customers. She had no remorse for the financial strain the company put my mother in. This company is heartless and does not care about your health but the money they can steal from you until you realize it.
Do not do a trial of this product. If I could give it zero stars I could. It claims to have a 14 day trial where in you can cancel. I cancelled but they claim it was not received. Now I find that I've been billed several times for this service, without recourse to be reimbursed. This is the kind of customer service that gives free trial programs a bad name.
You better watch your subscription because Noom has a horrible policy. If you're in the initial phase, you can get a refund after 14 days. If you're like me and stopped using the program, forget to see the renewal email, and get get charged $180.83 for another 6 months, they're going to say tough luck. It's a terrible policy and I'm very unhappy.
They will send an email 24 hours before they renew your service and then charge you for a full year if you don't cancel within 24 hours. For me that email came on Thanksgiving when no one checks their email. They charged me for another full year despite me not using the service and when I called the day after my card was charged they refused to give me even a partial refund. This is a scam
Check all the other reviews here. This company is run like a scam. They tell you you'll only pay for 6 months with the right to renew. I decided not to renew because A) the program doesn't work. B) it's expensive. C) the approach is corny and non-effective. So... Noom charges my account for another 6 months automatically, $168.54. I called immediately and the rep said too bad, no refund. I threatened a bad review and it didn't matter. After badgering them I received my refund.
I used Noom for a few months and honestly it started me out great but then I wasn't using it and removed the app and thought that I cancelled my subscription. But then was charged $149. Within an hour of receiving the charge I asked for a refund and found out how to cancel cancelled NOOM will not refund my subscription fee. I realize (I own two subscription services) it is not "policy" to refund but this kind of customer care is really unkind. Just my two cents. Noom goes from a 4 star to a one star in my book!
Identical review as Laurie. I joined in Nov of 2021 and prepaid 1 yr. After 6 months I stopped using their app as I felt it was not working for me. About a week ago I noticed a charge for $150+ on my paypal acct. I called Noom immediately and they refused to refund my acct. They claim that I had agreed to this renewal automatic from first signing Up, which is bogus. This is a scam...I will never use this app or recommend. I saw the BBB has thousands of complaints against them. Please do your own research before joining
UPDATE: Noom did reach out to me in response to my reviews and they did refund the money
I have had a rough year with the loss of my family member.
I forgot that I had a noom subscription (it worked for a few weeks then didn't like most diets)
Suddenly they take money from my paypal account and will not refund it. I have asked 5 times and asked to speak to supervisors and decision makers. No one will help me.
Please learn from my mistake and cancel your subscription. They will keep you active until the last day when you can renew if you actually like it.
They don't cancel your subscription when you request it. They won't refund your money even if you call on the day of the charges hitting your card. They continue to charge you long after you cancel and you have to fight them through your bank. They are quite smug about it on the phone.
Answer: (800) 910-7375 is the phone number listed on the BBB website for NOON. It's a recording directing you to their website. I emailed the company to cancel (my trial). They responded in less than an hour and canceled/credited the charge. Can't complain about that.
