I am a administrator for the largest groups on Nextdoor in our area of North Texas. The moderators are totally bias and in the bag of the woke radical democrats. It's very sad.
Most eye opening site of how many in your community are racist, bigots, full of hate and fear, judgemental and ready to shoot anyone over the most petty things. Everyone seems so ready to call themselves Christians, yet all they do is whine about what an inconvenience peaceful protests are(always calling them riots, leading to veiled racist remarks) and bully those who arent conservative and believe in equality. I'm sorry I ever signed up, everyday I was bullied and insulted for speaking up for human rights.
I run a group for my non profit via next door, most of my supporters are on ND due to it being easier and less involved then other social media platforms. I have been locked out several times & banned 2 times in a month, my husband was banned 3 times yesterday and is now banned again today (bc it was reported that his posts were not posted by him) all of this bc of a personal dispute between neighbors, a neighbor stole something from my non profit then has enlisted her friends to constantly report myself and my husband to get us banned with the aid of her friends, 1 or 2 of which are reviewers on ND who proceed to file report's against us then get to vote to ban us. We have reached out to ND multiple times regarding this even letting ND know we have filed a lawsuit, against these people, letting them know their reviewers BY NAME are abusing their power and yet it continues, it has been 6 weeks of this and it is severely limiting our ability to run our business/non profit. Our attorney is now filing a cease & desist & will be contacting ND that they took can and may be help liable for allowing this to go on and adding in its continuance
I made the Uptight Lead-Lib laugh, everyone did, it was funny, but because it contained a vague reference to BLM (hint: not Bureau of Land Management) I get banned a week later?
Embarrassingly inadequate system, their Offense Bot should have found my joke and banned me last week.
Lame.
Called mind your own business more then ever. Socialist $#*!s. B4 someone takes your life then. You'll wish you minded your own $#*!ing business. $#*! next door.
Nextdoor-WPB is the main sewer in Florida. They must have a contract to support the QAnon nuts. Private thread setup, then invaded by Repubs. Now everyone has been deleted. The worst site ever. So many have left because of harassment and moderators join in. Do not use this site unless you enjoy being bullied.
Just like the other oligarch social media sites of Twitter, Facebook, Google, they censor anything they don't like or agree with even when the points are articulate, decent, and evidence based. The leads (aka "monitors") in Huntsville, AL (*******) are particularly biased. It's like being back in high school with the mean girls running the show.
If a company has to lie to get business it's pretty pathetic. This company mails out marketing material pretending to be someone who lives in your neighbourhood and telling you that most of your neighbours are already using the application. All LIES.
NEXT DOOR is a hot bed for marxist socialist ideology, it discriminates against republicans and common sense. Next door uses gestapo tactics to silence different thoughts and opinions. It will ban you from the website and remove all your posts if you differ from their marxist socialist views. I would like the federal govt to fine one billion dollars on nextdoor for discrimination and impeding freedom of speech. Nextdoor will randomly remove your account and accuse you of made up falsehoods, they use same tactics as nazis and the the gestapo. NEXT DOOR IS A DANGER TO DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM OF THOUGHT AND FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Next door should be destroyed as it is a cesspool of socialism and marxism. DOWN WITH NEXTDOOR!
I can't sign up to Nextdoor because they don't recognize my address. That's fine, I thought to myself. "If I can simply communicate that I work out of my home," they should understand that. Fast forward about half a year later and their genius engineers are still working on it.
Everything was going great, Neighbors liked me, I was helping out the community, then a member opened up a discussion related to " BLM "... I joined the discussion with my own opinions which were not rude in any shape and form, and they suspend my account because I used the word "BLM"?! Found out later they have a specific policy not to mention those letters? Listen, if you can't exercise your "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" in this country, we are DOOMED! Violation of CONSTITUTIONAL LAW! SHAME ON NEXTDOOR!
After giving great advice for animal and rodent control, here comes housewives who have never farmed or know the business end of a shovel with their untrained/unproven pro tips. I will not go back to this novice forum again.
If they disagree with your opinion, even when politely stated, the power-hungry moderators and the corporate folks at nextdoor block your account for a limited time or permanently. Unless you agree with them, support transgenders and BLM, you are tagged racist, homophobic, and inappropriate. Their way or the highway. Forget morals. Forget God. Forget America. Forget freedom. Nextdoor is against all of those things. And the constant bickering between neighbors... it's petty and dreadful. There is very little that's "neighborly" about the forum.
Having to "Hide" posts only to have them keep popping up is Not Good! There is no monitoring or oversite!
I rejoined after deleting this app over a year ago, due to some inappropriate content. I only rejoined in the hopes of finding some local help.
It does not seem to be worth the time or energy and is just plain frustrating. It's too much like Facebook in the way people "react", which is useless! I HATE Facebook and so it looks like I will be leaving this one too. I tried to find a site to contact whoever is managing it, but even that was a pain in the behind!
While Nextdoor is a useful platform in theory, its system for reporting allegedly "inappropriate" comments is laughably biased toward the far left. Anything other than wholehearted support for the BLM "movement" gets you kicked off the site, while viciously anti-police and anti-white commentary is left untouched. Entirely factual posts regarding national and local crime statistics are also pushed down the memory hole when they conflict with the desired narrative of saintly minority victims and brutal, oppressive law enforcement.
They delete factual information of neighborhood events that don't fit their political leanings. They delete opinions if they differ or challenge their liberal mantras. They are part of the cancel culture trying to promote their personal political and social agenda to move the U.S. into becoming a socialist country.
I can not believe that I was the one suspended for a LEAD bullying me and then THREATENING to TAKE my life! If any of you are interested in taking Nextdoor to court for: death threats, discrimination, 1st amendment suppression, and being punished for reporting abusers, please let me know here. Thank you for your time.
Already tried to write a review with nothing but my honest opinion and low and behold they censored it. Don't get involved with this garbage app.
Just had our garbage disposal and new faucet installed by Jaime. He did an excellent job. He was efficient, courteous, and cleaned up after he did his repairs. Would recommend him for any of your plumbing needs.
The crime & safety part of Nextdoor is useful. It's good to know what's going on in your area. I wish someone provided this info separately.
Nextdoor attracts opinionated people who have to be right. After some time there, you realize how much better life was before you knew anything about your neighbors. Everyone was nice because they didn't cross boundaries, and get into cliques and gossip. The old saying is true: fences make good neighbors. Nextdoor cultivates the opposite of that. It brings out ugliness, competitiveness, hubris. I'll never go back.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
