Had to furnish condo to move in my 88-yr old mom. We found fabulous buys, great condition, great prices, from furniture to household to kitchen. Easy pick up and the nicest neighbors. Some people donated things, too. She's much happier now than she was in assisted living. Thanks, Nextdoor!
Well, we have a couple of awesome writers on our Nextdoor and I love reading their stories. They are real life happenings that are made so interesting that you want more.
At first it was all about lost dogs or stray dogs. That was not appealing to me, people keep your dogs up. We also have somebody that asks once a week for trash pickup recommendations & everybody and their stray dogs feel the need to tell about their's service provider. I tell them to check last weeks conversations.
However, there are a lot of good recommendations that we don't know about that is quite helpful!
All in all, it is an awesome site and you find out who you would enjoy knowing better and the whiners!

The Nextdoor organization is very helpful to keep us in touch with our neighborhood and those surrounding areas that touch our neighborhood. We have reunited lost pets and their owners, learned about crime and those who are doing both good and bad things. We find businesses to help with our homes and property, and just help our neighbors in many ways. I recommend it highly! Angel S.
I always advise new neighbors to sign up on Next Door when I send them an invitation. It's especially important as many are seasonal residents and do not keep in touch with what is happening. I love the emergency updates from the state, the news about recent thefts or suspicious behavior, information about local events and I have even sold a bike on Next Door. Don't miss out.
From alerting you to suspicious activity in the neighborhood, to recommended local businesses, this ap allows a sharing of knowledge and resources from others in your locale. It can alert you to yard sales or electricians; sexual predators or local events. A great place to come to help and be helped.
Be aware Nextdoor will kick off users who comment or post a truthful factual web link, that discredits comments made by some users who happen to be middle of the road conservatives.
If your politics don't agree with those of the ‘leads' or moderators and someone reports you for a minor issue (sarcasm, for example) the leads will silence you for a length of time (three days, in my case). You cannot be ‘uncivil' or even ‘unkind' - and the leads make that judgement. If they don't like you, or your politics, you're done. No explanation given.
Don't bother with this site if you are not a brainwashed democrat. They allow certain people to abuse others with no consequences and if you post any facts that don't go along with the leftist agenda you get banned. And they don't offer any recourse or way to contact the company either. Horrible site. Sick of the bias they allow.
Don't join this group if you have opinions that democrats don't agree with. YOU WILL BE BLOCKED. Just like all the social media sites. As usual, democrats silence the majority with their abuse of power.
Not only are they anal if you post anything they do not like, but they are selling the email addresses to spammers of those that complain about their subversive nature.
They want us the people use the app. And do all the work of policing the app. Instead of the ownership of the app taking responsibility for the content that goes on the app. Because us who use the app can always be on the app in order to police the app.
This is a terrible local social media hub that is working to control communications in the USA. They are allies with Black Lives Matter and ban people who disagree with BLM progressive democrat propaganda. I was a community lead for three years and posted a Guardian article about lead poisoning in black Americans that questioned the reason for low IQ and combativeness in this group as being from systemic racism by whites. Several other neighbors agreed with me. They labelled it hate speech and banned me from the site. This is from their website:
We stand in solidarity with Black neighbors
As a company, Nextdoor supports the Black Lives Matter movement. All Lives Matter and Blue LivesMatter content is explicitly prohibited when used to undermine racial equality or the Black LivesMatter movement. Support for White Lives Matter is prohibited on Nextdoor. Learn more about our
Commitment to support Black neighbors.
We use technology to fight bias
Since 2015, we have partnered with Dr. Jennifer L. Eberhardt, a social psychologist and the author of
Biased, to better understand how Nextdoor can mitigate implicit bias – i. E. unconscious forms of prejudice that influence our actions. We found that adding some friction to the posting process helpsslow people down and consider their own implicit bias. We also developed a new feature called the, which automatically flags offensive or hurtful comments and encourages theauthor to be more kind and thoughtful when they post. Ultimately, these tactics have led to a 75% decrease in racial profiling on the app.
We took this one step further with the launch of the anti-racism notification that detects language that could be specifically discriminatory to people of color. The notification detects potentially racist phrases such as "All Lives Matter" or "Blue Lives Matter," and prompts the author to consider editing."

This site has nothing to do with neighborhood friends. This site has much more to do with political control of the local neighborhood and those that oppose, get booted for life!
Next-door is a waste of time!
ND is an ok app and useful for some activities. However, the leads are very biased and group together against neighbors, especially when reporting their biased moderation. Rick Solomon is a lead who pressured the closing of a thread only because he was religiously associated with the person who had happened to be racist in the thread. I reported this and tried to resolve it directly with the lead through private messages. What do you know, after writing me several rude messages, I get banned. Seems fair.
I wrote a general post on the border situation that the Biden Administration doesn't want us to know about. They blocked video sound and then blocked me and said, I was being discriminatory and my account was suspended for 3 days. If you state anything that isn't sunshine, lollipops or rainbow on this sight (just like Facebook) or doesn't go with socialism or the liberal side of things you will be blocked.
I'm very pleased with the results of my carpet cleaning. The tech David, did a great job. He was professional and friendly and worked hard and quickly. Highly recommend Air Force One Carpet Cleaning. I will be a repeat customer.
There is a campaign on the Nextdoor App to cancel accounts and delete comments from people who don't align with the Nextdoor political agenda of the day whether that be regarding Black Lives Matter with many openly racist people having a field day on the app or regarding vaccine safety information to warn others of the danger. The leads at their liberty delete posts and cancel accounts without due cause. It's a cesspool of operatives who try to influence community with their biased agendas. The good news is that people are catching on and this despicable but appropriate rating reflects that.
I used this until I was told all lives do NOT matter. Only blm supporters allowed. Ads and liberal jargon flood this site. It was a decent tool until their racism started.
Don't know if it's our educational system or human intellect is going downhill. But people on this site seem to be lacking in many intellectual areas. There is an inability to comprehend, decipher, summarize, or analyze. Connecting the dots to discovery is not obtainable for a number of people that cater to this site. Therefore they resort to bullying, criticizing and rude comments. No ability to talk a disagreement or topic just their opinion is the correct one. Out of control people who can't argue a point so they resort to criticism. Very sad state of affairs that there r so many stupid people. It really scares me for I thought I had an average intellect. But if this is an indication of our societies abilities we r doomed. Nextdoor is really a cesspool. Only use to find businesses I need. Stay away from the people they will scare u into the realization of how pathetic the human intellect really is!
I hired Cruz Tre Service to cut down a large tree and pruned three other trees. I'm very very satisfied with their work they were on time very professional they took caution with my property and very affordable. I found them at my neighbors house they took down a massive tree for them. I will be using this company in the up coming months to remove three granddaddy trees.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
