Nextdoor is worse than Twitter and Facebook for censorship. Try to have a decent conversation with your neighbor and express our conservative worldview and you will get suspended

I tried next-door, and had to stop. 70% of the posts are angry people ranting about the same ol' same ol': pets, bicycles, pedestrians, bad drivers, noise, children and teenagers, schools, city services, etc. 10% more are angry people ranting about said posts being deleted because of violation of community standards. 15% are chain store ads, 4% is useless chatter, and only about 1% is useful or builds community. Protect yourself mentally and physically, don't join.

What a joke!
January 15, 2022

Just like other social media sites, they only flag something as "political" if you disagree with their side (obviously left wingers). Some comments are deleted while others can remain. I deleted my account as I don't want to associate with such corruption.

When our neighborhood started using Nextdoor it was a clear winner as a way to keep our neighborhood members connected to each other. Members were respectful and used it to ask for and get advice on a variety of common issues from lawncare to security concerns. But over the last year or so Nextdoor has morphed into a platform for paid sponsor ads, individuals ranting about their issues, and personal items for sale. Notices come from all nearby Nextdoor Neighborhoods, whether you want them or not. While users can limit which neighborhoods can see their posts, they cannot limit the posts they receive. The application has become so cluttered with notices and ads that are of little interest within our neighborhood, I am looking for a new tool for us to use.

Communist
January 15, 2022

I published articles from the Wall Street journal criticizing how the government was handling Covid so they blocked me so I can no longer be on that site. Sounds like communism.

I just got my account disabled without any kind of warning. The boilerplate explanation is that I supposedly provided disinformation about COVID, but all I've ever said is that people should wear masks and vaccinate. If there's anything inaccurate someone should have reached out and I would have corrected it. Instead, they just disabled my account for four days.

A friend of mine was made a neighborhood lead without being asked. She tells me some people report everything they disagree with and some of the other leads don't even bother to check out their claims to make sure they're valid.

Nextdoor.com is becoming a popularity contest rather than a useful way for neighbors to communicate. Don't bother.

Door not always open.
January 11, 2022

Was targeted by a group of women who seemed to have an influence on the app.
Was made to feel threatened and to be honest at the time almost suicidal.
When I asked one of the bullies to stop, the response was I was suspended by next door.
No chance to ask why, or why were they taking sides.
To be honest had been warned but maybe naively thought next door would be a fair platform.

This app and Democratic platform censors users who are not in line with the Democratic agenda. Three groups I am in have each been shut down 2x as well as my personal account shut down 2x as well. Reasons are totally unknown. This last time my personal account was shut down after making 1 comment (which I rarely do) regarding being kind to each other because people on the original post were attacking others... I have now deleted ND for good. I'm so thankful I didn't sign up for their business advertising, 12 month contract at over $500/mo.
Good riddance ND.

Pretty useless
January 6, 2022

Just a site designed to receive revenue from businesses from their dismal referral and advertising program. The site itself seems to be a bunch of bitter Karens brow beating the world if you do not tow their false narratives and of course it is also a neighborhood gossip and $#*! about everything site. Not recommended!

Failed NextDoor
January 5, 2022

Just recently rewrote their rules to do a CYA for themselves.

They royally left me to be racially raped due to their insistence on their then rules but changed to protect themselves.

Since having the local sheriff out to see the damage to my property, and requesting that I be allowed, can you image, to be provided two way connection to NextDoor, they have done nothing.

I would to just get reconnected but they are making it even harder to communicate.

Nextdoor app is a team of ppl who want to control the narrative but doesn't like when express your views. The ppl persuade the policy makers to ban or block ppl who are free thinkers, while they call you degrading names and taunt you. This app is full of crazy with covid-19 jab driven maniacs. Especially, in WELLINGTON, FL

Beware of Nextdoor!
December 29, 2021

I joined the Nextdoor app to get recommendations for local businesses and services, as well as to keep up with events and/or possible emergencies affecting my local community. Unbeknownst to me, Nextdoor took it upon itself to leverage my identity (name and street name) to send out invitations to strangers in my community without my permission to get them to join the app. I was horrified to discover this feature when I received an email notification that a person I didn't know had accepted my invitation to join the app. Clueless as to what invitation had been accepted, I did some digging and discovered that Nextdoor had sent out 200+ invitations in my name without my permission. I feel completely used and violated by Nextdoor and immediately deactivated my account due to the company's unethical business practices and invasive customer exploitation tactics. The overly invasive nature of the app completely overshadows any positive features I previously enjoyed. In addition, the app indicates that users can opt out of this feature, but only after hundreds of invitations have already been distributed on your behalf to neighbors you've never even met. If you value your anonymity, privacy, and safety in your local community, please heed this warning about Nextdoor.

Not worth the effort
December 25, 2021

In our area, Nextdoor has been hijacked by the crazies, including anti-vaxxers, out of the mainstream political types, and chronic complainers. Very little useful information of discussion occurs. The moderators do not seem to be able to handle (or do not want to) the covid misinformation being posted. Very poor.

NextDoor will suspend your account if, in regard to local crime, you write...

"[V]iolent crime rates are doubled for patients with schizophrenia and bipolar mood disorders and tripled for those with unipolar depression" [1]. "[A]round 10% of the patients with schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders behave violently, compared with less than 2% of the general public".[2]

Ruined by boomers
December 14, 2021

I figured an app that lets you discuss things with neighbors would be a great idea. I joined and deactivated my account after 5 minutes. Take all the worst boomers you can find on Facebook and that's what NextDoor is. It's filled with conspiracy theories, racism, and folks who never finished high school giving their "expert opinion" on COVID19. Maybe have each street elect a representative and not let everyone post whatever is on their minds?

Origin of site is San Francisco All democrats & liberals say what ever they want opposing their narrative of lies and misinformation gets you kicked off. They are trolling for weak minded easy marks to turn with absolutely ridicules lies and misinformation. It's a total sham. Don't waste your time it's a joke full of anti American biden lovers. Your full name is required unless you're a democrat or liberal. Lars P is proof of that. Him and several other democrats/liberals don't have to have full name?! Liberals and democrats will love their like minded criteria. If you are a trump supporter they delete you immediately!

After giving Nextdoor a try (Business Account) I had one local neighbor private message me not happy that I promote my business. I blocked that user. 1 month later my business account was locked for 30 days for promotion my business on a BUSINESS PAGE?
We support businesses as a business owner and admin two FBook pages that allow businesses to promote their business. I don't understand entities that do not support growth. As soon as I am able to get back in I will be deleting my account.
