Next door use to be a Great Service, but as of lately other groups have seem to taken over and it is no longer a group to be respected. They are a local Twitter or Facebook and is getting worse... Just by asking the question "WHY" when it comes asking why someone is not happy about something, I get banned. I said and did nothing wrong. When nextdoor started, they were great, they were the best... Now they are the worst. They have been taken over by people who want to state their views as fact and dismiss eveyone elses view, and nextdoor allows that. You ask someone why and you get suspended.
Good Bye Next Door.
This site is loaded with scams very few legitimate topics like lost pets other then that people are just looking for $$$
This site appeals to the people with Gladys Kravitz Syndrome. Paranoid screaming Karens.
The say not to discuss political issues, however if it's someone praising President Biden for his recent visit, they turn the blind eye. God forbid you engage in the post with even a mild mannered criticism of a Democrat. At that point it becomes political, they leave up the original post (which is against their community guidelines to begin with) and remove the negative comments that go against the Führer. Then they suspended my account. Liberating best describes my feelings toward the suspension.
Another San Francisco tech based company. Go figure.
I regret ever submitting my information to join Nextdoor. Not only do they actively monitor and control comments on their site, but they also strictly utilize their so-called "community standards" to enforce their liberal point of view. Step out of line with their ideology (much if it left to the discretion of some loony snowflake) and BOOM, your account is suspended for however long they choose. They are as bad as twitter only worse since with Nextdoor, you also find out just how ignorant and foolish some of your neighbors are.
Nextdoor needs to hire new website designers. The lagging, jumping all over the place while freezing up, and the constant reloading that occurs after the entire page freezes makes use of the website almost impossible. The further down the feed you go, the more chances of lagging. Plus, as you scroll down the site, it freezes while you are reading, then loads an ad which pushes the post down the page and off the screen, between every single post! So frustrating to try to use as intended! It is to the point that I get so annoyed with the freezing problem, that I end up closing the browser window and I reopen it again, just to have to scroll forever to get back where I was, and everything is out of order again.
The privacy concerns are questionable as well. On a site where people are constantly recording and reporting crimes occurring in their area, forcing users to use their real legal name forces users to decide between helping their neighbors (putting themselves at risk for retaliation from the criminals they are openly reporting about) or not saying anything. I personally experienced a guy showing up at my apartments looking for the guy that recorded him stealing a car. He threatened to kill everyone in the complex, and our pets, and he did end up putting nails under all our tires. We only knew it was him because he bragged to nearby neighbors about it. The police know to not disclose witness information to offenders until after charges are pressed. Nextdoor needs to learn how to follow suit and protect their users.
But sadly there is no point in tackling the privacy issue until they hire a website designer to allow users proper access to their site.
Fix these obvious problems, and I will change my review.
Cesspool of every horrible person you could imagine.
The company fanes Comunity but what actually happens is packs of male and female Karens come spreading misinformation and hate. If you mentions this to a moderator (the same ilk) you have your account put in time out. There is no appeal process. No way to contact the company.
Nextdoor spreading hate, racism, bigotry and misinformation with a passion!
While this site has its redeeming qualities unfortunately they bad outweighs the good. Anyone posting anything conservative gets mocked, criticized and reported to Moderators that then suspend your account for questionable reasons, then suspend your account indefinitely. It is San Francisco based imposing its selective enforcement of its own ambiguous policies, it's deliberate censorship. Hope Elon buys them too.
They banned me because I shared simple facts. This seems to be the norm now with big tech companies if users don't share the same mindset and politics. Too bad this company will go to hell.
Another great tax perp session with Madan Arora. I highly recommend him! Be sure to see him this tax season.
Causes more division among neighbors than unity. They are more dedicated to promoting political positions than in being unbiased and giving neighbors a safe platform to stay informed.
I'm a member of a HOA in Florida. I have attached just 1 example of how a lead has responded to my post. It is very hurtful to tell me to move, say I must feel shifty, and call me Karen. My name is not Karen. I've heard from a very good source that our board is doing some pretty shady things. If they are true, it would be totally illegal and possible jail time. I never said anything was true because I don't know but I do believe it is or I wouldn't have posted. I'm very concerned about our community. I'm afraid of retaliation from Nextdoor and the leads. Although I shouldn't care since the reviews I'm reading are all bad and I see their credit rating on better business bureau is not good. However I would like to have my freedom of free speech without slandering anyone. I have never spoke to anyone like that on Nextdoor, never called names, and a lot of my posts were taken down even if I didn't violate any of their rules. I also see that you aren't able to tell the truth speak negatively of the vaccine even if you know in fact it caused an injury or death.
This app is fine with you if you are wealthy and white. If you are neurodiverse, a senior citizen, a person of color or disabled they will likely take down many of your posts and restrict your account. The people who run this app have decided that anyone who cares about anyone else and wants to do something to help vulnerable populations is "political". I am sick of anyone who believes that caring for others is political. It's not. Even animals know they are stronger together. Are they political because they help one other? How ridiculous these people are. These stupid rich people who think they can define what is political and what isn't? They removed a post about seniors protecting themselves against their medicare being privatized without their consent. REMOVED IT. What BS.
This app is not managed well enough to keep users safe. I thought there were admins keeping things respectful until I was bullied and the "leads" did nothing about it, thus encouraging it to continue.
NextDoor allows posting of employment by members that violates EOC laws despite my complaint to them.
While i am grateful to have made real friends, no one seems to be in charge and suspensions occur abruptly and without cited reasons. The Guidelines are randomly enforced - or not at all - so you get nasty, mean-spirited name calling, lies, and false accusations. This social platform sounds inviting, but it's not good for your mental health. There are so many others to choose from. This should not be one of them.
Nextdoor King blocked me because I posted an individual, Trevor MacDonald, was "Dangerous and Mental" Well, he is.
Trevor MacDonald is a Homeless (thought Nextdoor was supposed to check addresses) individual who has set several fires in Portland, who believes he is God, who is Anti-Government, parrots other people's experiences and then argues, etc. BUT YOUR Administrators blocked ME?
I will never use Nextdoor again and I intend to post more than 1 review, as YOUR Administrators were notified accordingly. The VERY minimum, I would like a SINCERE apology. The most Important is that NextDoor does NOT respect the Safety of their neighborhoods, and should probably be discontinued or have FCC oversight.

Nextdoor uses volunteer "Leads" to moderate content on Nextdoor. These Leads could be pedophiles, rapist or extremist with an agenda. Nextdoor provides NO vetting or training of Leads!
What a pathetic business plan. Use unqualified, unpaid volunteers! And ND still can't make a profit.
My local Police Department advised that it would be a good idea to describe the content of a video from my security system to make neighbors aware of 2 males casing vehicles and building in darkness at 1:30AM.
Since I rarely review Nextdoor due to the overwhelming gossip and little to no information, this was the first time I had attempted to post anything in several months. When attempting to post, I learned, that after several years and having been "verified", my account was suspended for "violating community standards". It seems, setting my profile to use my initials when posting and not my full name, which is readily available on my profile, is unacceptable. In addition, it appears I had the audacity to post Internationally available information, published by other countries about Covid, that did not agree with the party line from Dr. Fauci and the CDC.
So just, FYI, if it isn't woke, it makes no difference how important the information is, you will never see it.
A bully posted comments and my responses were deleted without anyone reaching out to me. My comments were respectful and did one contain any obscenities while allowing my bully to say whatever she wanted. This site is worse than Twitter
I tried three times with different photos to go with my post, but none worked. The problem is it didn't even tell you what's required (or not), and you didn't know anything is wrong till seeing your post with a broken photo sign. Un-install is the only way to handle this junk.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
