I was harassed on Nextdoor. Complained to corporate did very little to stop it. Blocking function is dumb

Bunch of NASTY people, with nothing better to do than sit around judging others and making ignorant comments. If you attempt to defend yourself, your comment is hidden by the app! Apparently abusing others is OK on this app... I am DONE with it!

I guess this has been going on for a while, makes sense why i am in nextdoor jail just for expressing myself... i guess i cant express anything or say anything without someone getting offended ( by the way i just reported someone parked and blocking my garage) and someone must had not like it because they probably don't even know what in the world is going on and they thought i was being abusive to the person. Don't use it im sure you won't need this app at all.

If I could give NextDoor a 0, I would. I deactivated my account to take a break. I can't reactivate because it is impossible. The site says it will send a code to reactivate. The code comes and it instantly says, "the code has expired" when I try to put in the code. I tried several other ways - no good. There is not an email or number to ask a simple question or get help. How impersonal for what is touted as a "community" app. I am so frustrated. It should not be that way - shame on NextDoor for running such an unprofessional, impersonal, unkind business. How much would it really cost to have someone answer emails or answer a phone?

They are prime supporters of misinformation both in the medical community, the political community, and just overall public safety. They have absolutely no understanding as to what disrespect actually means. You are in no way allowed to stand up for yourself when all of the vitral from conservatives comes flying at you. You are in no way allowed to correct any of their misinformation. And the amount of racist, bigoted, xenophobic, homophobic, and transphobic rhetoric that they allow is absolutely staggering. There is a very very clear double standard and how they treat their customers.
And don't even bother trying to email their customer service they will either not respond to you at all, they will not be able to find your account or they will send you some bogus email with the things that have been reported on you, things like asking people to follow the law, things like calling out misinformation, literally basic things like telling people "to mind their business" and " to stop fear mongering".

All of the time there is a problem with commenting on and reacting to people's posts and when you try and get in touch with them to find out why, there basically is no way to communicate with Nextdoor. Such a shame, when this app started I thought this was a step in the right direction connecting people locally and democratically and helping people share notes and ideas for a better more fair future. This seems like mobocracy all over again; sad that some people have such a hard time playing fair but it certainly does help explain the state of the world...

These people have no idea how to do construction of any kind! Rude, unprofessional, constantly late, and unprepared.

Unfortunately, I started next door with the best intentions, l became aware that it had very liberal leanings, if my opinion differed from theirs, not only was l sensured, l was actually accused of being homophobic, amongst other things
Now admittedly, at 82 years of age, my Era did think differently,
We didn't have cancel culture, we did however have a God loving and America first mentality, sadly that appears to be a thing of the past.
So please be aware to not get into any type of political discussion, it's very demeaning and not worth your time, did l mention l have been punished by next door, l have been banned for 30 days.
I shall not be returning as l have better things to do with my life

I created a business page and have not been able to log into it for several days. I followed all the suggestions in the canned help section to no avail. No one has followed up in the 24 to 48 hours, they claim to follow up. Don't waste your time with a business profile on here.

They did not even read what I posted. Nothing was said in disrespect. I attacked no one verbally nor wrote obscene or derogatory remarks. I truly believe this site is worse than Facebook or twitter. Everything they said I violated was not accurate. Will never use them again. So for all the Karen's out there. Have a wonderful day

I was a user and very active moderator of Nextdoor in North Las Vegas for several years. It was a great place to get information on your community and keep each other safe. Lately however it seemed that any notification of a crime would be met with disrespectful comments towards the victim. Self promoting spam was a recent issue where these people would have the spam removed and they would post it up again. I would immediately vote to have these removed as a moderator yet moderators would vote to allow the disrespect and the spam would get no action for days or up to a week. I was so disappointed in the inaction and allowing the hate that I recently had my account deactivated (wish I could have it permanently deleted) and uninstalled. This platform has potential but it allows too much trash.

I used Nextdoor for about a year or so. The pictures of people's pets were cute, but the site was woeful in terms of its terms of service and moderation. Any local issue of some political import was hijacked by activitists who reported people to Nextdoor they disagreed with. These people would then be suspended from the site without any recourse! I finally decided to get my local news elsewhere.

Even with all the available tools at one's disposal, it's amazing how cumbersome an application & its related website performs. Even questions submitted on search engines don't help. Trying to simply identify new potential neighborhoods from the application is a dead end. On top of that, attempting to log in through a browser, my PW fails & resetting the application locks me out of my smart device application. Get it together, folks. It appears this is becoming another captive marketing site. No wonder I use it less & less, due to frustrating tools & capabilities.

Just got kicked off for stating that "calling the police on someone walking down the street when bars close is wrong" apparently that breaks the Be Kind rule... Aparrently if a Moderator disagrees with you. You get the boot and your opinion labeled as not nice. What a joke. The whole thing is filled with people trying to keep 50 stray cats and people complaining their unlocked car in a high crime area shouldn't get broken into. Now I somewhat think its common sense not to leave things in your car and to lock it. So I will look elsewhere.

Then on top of it people get to stay on after calling whites and asian slurs... apparently thats not racist!

A venue for neighborhood bullies to excel and the ignorant to join in on the festivities. NEXTDOOR IS POLITICALLY BIASED AGAINST ANYONE CONSERVATIVE.

Recently rejoined a month ago, the jabber on nextdoor is jovial, if you attempt sincere critisizm you will be kick off for days or weeks. There is no logic to the moderator method other than "I am always right" and "if people insult my intelligence or argue my idiotic point, I kick them off the platform!". As others on here have said, they suffer the delusion they are gods. They could not take valid criticism constructively, probably because NextDoor itself is on the precipice of extinction and has no future.

My initial complaint was that Nextdoor included 30 surrounding neighborhoods, making it too big. However, I discovered that you can specify which neighborhoods are included in your "feed", which makes it much more relevant. Of course, some of the posts are just crazy or stupid or worthless, as are some of the comments, but these are easily recognized and skipped over, and there are plenty of useful posts and discussions to make the site worthwhile. And if you've lost a pet or need help, the response can restore your faith in humanity.

Many moderators are part of a clique of usually retired or unemployed domestic homemakers that are busy judging people they consider socially below them. They accuse people if digital panhandling. They purge people's posts about needing assistance. They are allowed and encourage to join in on public shaming. It promotes some of the nastiest attitudes of the wanna be elite.
