This company/website is useless. Tried to become a member and they would not accept my number to verify my address. It's no wonder our management company (Elim Services, who also are useless) would recommend this service. Sounds to me like some kind of company run by scammers. I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND THEIR HORRIBLE RATING.

Bottom line, I strongly advise people to NOT live at Southbrook Condos on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida. They are called condos but are really just run down apartments with no onsite management.,

Useless App
April 22, 2016

Very confused by this App and not sure what my neighborhood is using it for. You can post about pretty flowers and a yard sale but cannot report crime. The moderator in our area blocks most important post and blocks users at random.

This site is terrible. People on here will take sides with their friends in a conflict and not listen to you. I took an issue to a lead and turns out she is friends with the person I had the conflict with. I was called a liar, among other things and the lead never did anything about it, They do what they want to and if they don't know you are like you then they want try to sort the situation out, I deleted my account. I want be back

Moderater Control
April 12, 2016

There shouldn't be a "Single Person" Moderator for Nexttdoor. Who can delete what SHE doesn't agree with. Too much Control for one person, who becomes the neighborhood nosey, head in the sand, bullie. Who is too much of a busy body trying to protect the good name of the neighborhood, and the do nothing about the break-ins, Police,... instead of trying to get something done. She threw a so called neighborhood meeting that turned out to be a personal party, and not one single "concerned citizen" ( other than hubby and I) showed up. I'm done with it.

Just say no
March 29, 2016

Seemed lovely to connect with those in the neighborhood. Became an incessant nuisance, too many fights between neighbors and a "I saw a stray dog". "I saw it too". "Me too!" site. Apparently, it phished or data scrapped all those in my address book and invited them to join without my permission. Hate this. Delete, do not accept and beware.

NextDoor is great
March 29, 2016

With a few unmanaged temper tantrums the past 2 years, NextDoor has been a great help, used during HOA elections, meeting minutes, a couple of (unfortunate) chase scenes as they happened, and break in incidents, sharing photos of suspicious vehicles driving around one of which that turned out just to be a driver's ed mom NextDoor member easing stress of eyewitness!

When you live in a neighborhood of people who are for majority rule using class and descency, NextDoor is a great tool to make your neighborhood shine!

Useless and unsafe.
March 28, 2016

Been with the site for a while; no problems. Then recently several people posted erroneous information about our recent caucus in WA State. I very calmly pointed out that they were not correct and, as I am a party official, posted the correct info. I was ridiculed, attacked, and called various nasty names. After several attempts to stay civil, I finally said this was not the correct forum for political discourse, especially since they were obviously clueless (that is as strong as my language got). Immediately received a slew of emails, saying that people objected to my 'tone' and that I was being abusive. REALLY? I went back to the site, deleted my "objectionable" posts and unsubscribed. Advising everyone I know to avoid Nextdoor sites - they are childish, petulant, unregulated - in short, a huge waste of anyone's time.

Nextdoor.com is an excellent tool to connect neighbors and neighborhoods with police and sheriff offices, announce local goings-on and events, keep a look out for lost pets or suspicious characters, buy or sell something, or advertise a garage sale; however, it is abused by some to rant about any- and everything, post political and religious views and attacks, instigate and argument online about "he said/she said", and just plain, unneighborly behavior.

I am no longer using this app. I deactivated my account and do did the rest of my family. It is so full of rude people that attack you for no reason and the administration allows it. No matter how many flags and reports I send NOTHING is done. I will never recommend it to anyone, I will warn them not to join. It would be a great app if it were managed by people who didn't tolerate calling names, attacking people and defamation of character. It needs new management or it needs to be shut down.

Nextdoor seemed like a good way for neighbors to communicate about safety issues, crime, events, etc. The whole enterprise is toxic and unregulated. Leads do what they wish, say what they wish, attack and allow personal attacks.

Nextdoor has very little to do with actually bringing neighbors closer. What it does do is allow arrogant, power hungry neighbors with nothing better to do to play "ruler" and make their own rules. It become a ridiculous little power struggle with high-school like bully antics and it's a shame because the site COULD be so useful if the neighborhood leads were put through some kind of strict qualification process to ensure that only highly professional, unbiased, and helpful neighbors got those spots. Secondly, I warned my neighbors long ago that Nextdoor's actual agenda was to collect all of our information so they could monetize it. Nobody believed me but now it's happening! Their particular animosity toward Realtors was especially telling and sure enough, now they are offering a Real Estate section! And is it actual local Realtors who live and know the neighborhoods? No, of course not; it's big brokerage houses who have nothing to do with the local neighborhood but a lot of money to pay Nextdoor to be allowed to invade the neighborhoods that are supposed to be private! What a joke? But I guess it's on us, huh? 'Cause it's obviously working for the Nextdoor execs who I assume are laughing all the way to the bank!

Great site in theory. Unfortunately censorship-happy neighborhood-leads, weak customer service, and poor functionality make NextDoor a headache.

We were arbitrarily denied access to our Nextdoor account because according to their "security" department, our address came up on a sex offender registry site. That is a complete a total mistake and I spent the better part of yesterday and this morning trying to prove it to them. Now I am VERY suspicious about what this company is really up to.
First, according to their website, their address 110 Sutter St Suite 700 San Francisco. I googled that address and guess what - the company at that address is called Fanbase, Inc. So then I called the only phone number I could find and the recorded message said they don't accept phone calls - the only way to contact them is through email. Well I responded by email and got a reply from someone called "Savannah" who wanted us to fax her (or him) photocopies of our ID proving that we live at our address. How's that for suspicious. All they want is our ID? Well, our security rules are that we NEVER send copies of our ID to strangers.
I'm beginning to think that Nextdoor might be a very insidious way to hack in the backdoor of our computers and steal our identification. Identity theft is a very sophisticated business these day and Nextdoor seems to have conned thousands across the country into giving up their private information.
When we first signed on to Nextdoor we thought it was a great idea. Now, after seeing that our "neighbors" use it for private ranting and the company that runs it is dubious at best, even if we do get our access back, we are not going to rejoin. It's a pity really, but beware - it's not worth the risk.

Police use of nextdoor
February 27, 2016

Why can police use next door so heavily for a "private social network". How can police use it for their "we see you" program on terminally ill cancer patients using cannabis. Should the program be used for dog poop all over, or everyone tossing cigarettes from car windows, child beaters, or the 54 registered sex offenders within a mile?

It's absurd
February 24, 2016

After I expressed my reviews about a neighborhood burglary at Valencia reserve, The "Leader" called me at home screaming at me at 9:30 pm. Im considering filing a complaint for harassment with the local authorities.
Now they've locked me out and Im unable to obtain a new password.
Cencership is rampant on the board. All they want to hear about is the old lady who lost a sweater at the pool

Next door is poor service
February 24, 2016

Biased "neighbor reviews". Not easy to use. Info can be planted by friends and family of businesses. Really controlled with military rigidity by a bunch of CA computer geeks. Not really a friendly and neighborly website. Website control encourages users to spy on and secretly report other "neighbors" for trivial violations of the california nerd policies. They claimed that my ID was false, supposedly reported by a "neighbor". They would not believe me, but believed the false report of a secret unknown "spy". Too many problems with website management and control by web. Not the real neighborhood. Next door is not good at all. There are lots of other better ways to meet and connect with real neighbors. Terrible!

Could have been good!
February 19, 2016

Nextdoor started out good. The idea of a site specific to your neighborhood sounded great. You can keep up with what's going on and any alerts. However, it became postings for jobs wanted and junk for sale. The local sheriff has taken to posting "wanted felons" alerts, which don't involve my area at all. There are plenty of sites for news and junk for sale but nothing specific to individual neighborhoods. It was a good idea, too bad it didn't work!

Site is terrible
February 15, 2016

In my neighborhood, we have a LEAD that is out of control... Today, she accused people of homicide because they opposed a traffic plan and someone got killed on a bike... The Next Door reps ignored all the complaints on her, and she has torn the the neighborhood (once voted most improved neighborhood in the USA by NUSA) apart... It is sad, stay away from this destructive site!
