The Nextdoor for my neighborhood is full of fear mongering nonsense. Everyone walking down the street is a potential home invader or robber that gets an URGENT ALERT or warning posted in the CRIME SECTION. So and so must be on drugs, stay away. God help you if you have guests over and they knock on the wrong door, an URGENT ALERT will be out about your guests that "someone strange is knocking on my door and potentially casing my house!" Complaints to admin go unanswered. If you disagree with someone, you are called "dangerous" to the neighborhood. It's not good. The app was supposed to curb racial profiling, but I have yet to see that. If anything, it shows you who your neighbors really are. If your a runner or an avid walker, be careful what you post on the app and just know that your neighbors have cameras everywhere. Nothing is private anymore and if you thought it was legal to go door to door to communicate, your wrong. Not according to the friendly neighbors on Nextdoor. They will call the police on you in an instant.

I founded a community and was made a LEAD instantly. BUT, if you have anything good to post, anything to sell, anything that's worth mentioning in regards to donations or fund raisers or helping in any way for any cause, DON'T BOTHER BECOMING A MEMBER! CORPORATE NEXTDOOR will ALWAYS side with the ones who cause evil, who are instigators and trouble makers, and place blame COMPLETELY on the one who is doing good. I put up with a lot of BULL for over a year and nothing was ever resolved! After going back and forth with CORP ND, I finally had enough and left because they REFUSE to REMOVE PERMANENTLY those idiots who are so miserable and have no life and do nothing but sift through posts and report them because they are bored or don't agree with what's being posted.

Nextdoor

Nextdoor is a scam to get information from you. The company is in Brazil. There is no return address on their mailings but it does have a "sent from" zip code stamped on top by the post office. The zip code is a Brazil zip code. Always research something before you join.

I was enjoying being on a neighborhood informational sight until 1 person ruined it for so many. A LEAD sending women nasty, reprimanding private messages is way out of line, yet he continues to be the LEAD. I like the idea of NextDoor, but they need to clean house.

My neighborhood uses Nextdoor and there is such an abuse of power by neighborhood LEAD's, they send bullying PM's to members when they disagree with them, they aren't helpful at all and our neighborhood LEAD has actually had the nerve to post that he will take down any post he doesn't like! He has bullied many people, men and women alike. He reports posts he doesn't agree with. This site is a joke and I for one plan to remove myself from it. It is not a neighborly site and frankly it's a waste of time to get all the junk that is emailed by our LEAD's. Our community is Sunset II in Littleton, CO and our LEAD is Simon Bogdansky. Watch out if your in our community, be wary of disagreeing with him or he'll report you & then send you nasty grams. Nextdoor actually sent me an email because I had posted about our LEAD. I had first tried to contact them, but their support email isn't good. Their email said I should go to my LEAD to discuss! Hahaha! Tried that route & got bullied. No thank you!

Silly information.
March 19, 2017

Like fake sick children begging for money, the one Dr. Phil put on, they pretend they are sick to make you feel pity for their ploy, put a bald child on, then monies sent. Boat owners parking illegally and when one person reports them to the police, they scream angry words, waste of time.

Some of good though like lost cats and pets, tick alert.

Big Scam! First red flag is return address - no actual street number and not even mailed from my state. The person listed as the sender does not own property in our county. Find a better use of your time.

I live in the UK and liked Streetlife. When it was going to be taken over by Nextdoor I read a lot of negative reviews and decided NOT to transfer. Before Streetlife ended I closed my account because I didn't want Nextdoor to have access to my contact details and gave this as reason for closing my account. Nevertheless, Nextdoor are now sending me emails and addressing me by name to try to persuade me to sign up. They have no right to access my contact details against my specific wish. Dodgy company which does not accept that no means NO.

I absolutely detest this website and the people who run it.

I was able to get a promotional discount for my neighborhood from Ring.com - $25 off.

Every time I posted they would take it down as spam.

I contacted the corporate office and explained that I was not in business and receiving no $ or product. I was trying to get more people to be able to afford a great security item that can be used to file a police report.

Instead of "looking into it" I was sent an e-mail telling me it was a very "spammy" sounding post and they did not want people to feel they were being spammed - BY 1 POST? Come on folks.

Worthless website filled with sniveling people with very small minds.

Try Kahuti instead
March 10, 2017

I had a quick look at Nextdoor when Street life closed. I was appalled that the default was to display full name and address and that the display of at least street name was mandatory. I contacted Nextdoor with my concerns and was not impressed with their 'take it or leave it - we now best' attitude. An ex street lifer found Kahuti and I joined straight away. It is still in it's infancy but the developers are responsive and listen to our views. There are no privacy or censorship issues and my area is already getting it's community feel back.

The NextDoor neighborhood chat platform is truly "inappropriate" and should reconsider their contribution to the meaning of community, being neighborly, having common values and doing what is right...!

The month of March is the beginning of Spring, a time of new growth after a long cold Winter; a time of finding new relationships; new beginnings... but not in Phillips Ranch NextDoor...!

After unsuccessfully posting #happyacts posts which generate financial contributions to the worthy cause of BBBS of America, and helping children all over America, the upcoming International Day of Happiness which is now celebrated on March 20th in over 160 countries throughout the world. Unfortunately the behind closed doors PC Police of NextDoor and their elk have again found reason to discourage the sharing of ANY Happy thoughts with the community... I've been DELETED AGAIN...!

NextDoor is a SAD example of what is wrong with AMERICA today... I'mjustsayin'

Initially gave this site a one star but after using the past week it's awesome. Very good and informative details on doctor's, restaurants and items for sale.

Nothing going on here! Nobody seems prepared to have much of a discussion which I believe is down to the issue of privacy and people are very wary of what they say. The "Lead" situation is ridiculous as they can delete conversations if it doesn't suit. The customer service attitude is take it or leave it and here are the instructions how to delete your account. BIG mistake!

Didn't notice when I initially changed from Streetlife to Nextdoor that my full address was displayed. Also not interested in welcoming every new member. I've given up with it, and left.

I am, unfortunately in a neighborhood in which the lead thinks she needs to delete commentary from pretty much anyone and everyone whose comments she doesn't approve of. When I contacted Nextdoor support, they sided with her on the censorship of our neighborhood news feed. I am SO TIRED of people telling me what I am allowed to know and not know about. It's not like she is removing anything mean or vile or inflammatory. She just won't let anyone say "thank you" except by using the thank you button, and she won't let a poster comment subsequently on their post because "they should only be allowed to edit their original post, not add anything in the commentary."
