Free speech very limited. Very heavy on Censoship mostly A Realyor app theives use it to spy on neighbors and break in. Be carefull of times you post there are ways to tell i
What times you work by when you post.
Poor Customer care
You will shutdown and never know why could an complaint about a store bussniess and Boom you are kicked off. Or about a politican that California liberal moderators like ordislike and boom you are shut down.
Stay away from NextDoor theives are on it too.
I unsubscribed from notifications, not even joking, 5 times. Finally got fed up and logged in to turn them off again and I found FORTY ONE individual notification setting I had to manually turn off. The incessant chirping from this app lives on in my nightmares :D for the love of god, whoever thought that this is an acceptable marketing tactic lacks empathy full stop.
At this point I believe this app makes up their own community guidelines. It's very subjective. They will remove and disable your account purely due to disagreeing with what was said. And oh my gosh if you try to voice your opinion about the app and your frustration, forget it. Terrible app overall when one of their posting categories is about safety, but when you post about safety they'll remove your post!
I enjoy hearing whats going on in my neighborhood good news and the warnings of suspicious activity and the like.
Unfortunately.the company is a "social platform" to conduct invasive surveylance and DO NOT post your opinion based on their immoral criteriaI. It's pretty worthless, a waste of time & energy.
I was constantly being banned. My account would be disabled when I would report bullies who were weaponizing the report feature. And they would remove my content. I'm a photographer. They would remove my photos of sunsets and art! And child molesters use the app. Stay away from this App!
Could be great BUT, political posts not allowed. OK good BUT, left leaning posts overlooked. Leads are biased at times. Terrible. Will never use it again.
Years ago, as administrator for my community email network, I recommended we establish a NextDoor community within our private enclave in North Texas and immediately regretted doing so. Suddenly, every bad actor out there was tearing through posts, no discussion was safe from trolling. I left in disgust, stayed away for several years.
Then, rumors of a local green energy project being disucssed on the network lured me back and I opened an account.
Long story short, political partisans spewing disinformation don't like to be corrected; they angrily troll to the point that reporting their misconduct begins to draw attention to the victim rather than to the attackers. I started noticing that if I said, "The fact is..." the phrase was deemed "public shaming" or "disrespectful" and taken down; but, if someone posted my name with a clown emoji, labeled me a "foreign agent," or accused me of being "a typical liberal[sic]," that was considered okay. The anti-woke crowd could hurl taunts with near impunity, while I was penalized for not dotting an i or crossing a t.
At the worst, these activists were showering me with reporting and partisan moderators played along: a photo of a scratched hand was deemed "harmful activity" and a pinned map was a "violation of privacy."
For all its claims of being diverse and tolerant, NextDoor is a safe haven for the OANN/Newsmax/Fox/Infowars crowd,
Photos: When all else failed, people trying to silence me combed through old posts, reporting everything they could find. A hand scratched by briars hiking was suddenly deemed "harmful activity" SIX days after it was posted. When I pinned a map to show relative position of reported wildlife, it was "violation of privacy," and the account was disabled.
I unsubscribe from this app and I keep getting unwanted emails I tried blocking the apps from my email instead some how I keep getting emails from this company!
If you're into burb sheep Karens $#*!ing about whatever triggers them or 20-something single mothers begging for free sh*t, this is the place for you!
The property owners poa,hoa have leads that operate behind the scenes to block, silence and harass anyone who questions the water department, the property managers or just for communicating with other neighbors any concerns they have. The effort being put forth to control information is clearly a direct violation of Nextdoor guidelines. Someone needs to cycle out these bias leads as they misuse N.D. To get elected to the board and sway public opinion with private messaging other residents and slandering anyone who wants to improve our neighborhood.
This app is completely compromised.
There has been multiple times where I have posted very helpful things in regards to what's happening right now with va*ccines and all of these posts are being deleted by Nextdoor. Its like Facebook, compromised! They want people to die! I've boycotted FB, now I'm boycotting Nextdoor. They should be ashamed of themselves being complicit in people's dealths!
I got kicked off for commenting on a homeless person who was sleeping on a neighbor's front porch in the middle of the night. I simply said that the police should have been alerted. The majority of the comments were about helping this person, making them coffee and a meal, calling social services, giving them money etc. Boy, was I in the wrong group. I responded and someone didn't like my retort and "boom" I was off the site the next day. No foul language, no threats, no slurs, no name calling, just stating my viewpoint. I'm glad to gone from this site.
Nextdoor is supposed to connect neighbors and they have guidelines that everyone is to adhere to. After many years on Nextdoor I moved to a new, smaller town and set up my account there. Two years in I was bullied by a never-been-married pompous jerk, demean, belittled condescended to, twice. Plus another woman on the same post who he told she needed counseling. This is what he does and he only does it to women. The second time I stuck up for myself without using disrespectful words. That was one week ago. Since then my comments have been reported and removed, my Lead status taken away and now I'm in a 15 day suspension. The jerk is still on the platform, his heinous worded comments are still there for the whole town to see. I asked for help from Nextdoor Support SIX TIMES and they didn't do one single thing! I'm in a private group where our comments were never reported much less removed, EVER, but this week my comment about a politician, which is allowed in a private group, was reported and removed. Several of us in the group sent a message to Nextdoor Support asking how this could happen since it had never happened before since the group was created and we were all under the impression that private actually meant private. No response, to anyone. So look out folks Big Brother is watching you in your private (not) groups. It all comes back to this bully, this jerk, this is his hometown and he's got people who keep who vote for him and against anyone who dares to stand up to him. He's got connections in the Sheriff's office and police department while I'm just a newcomer, a woman, to this not-so-neighborly town. I made Nextdoor Support aware and sent screen shots, of his comments, my replies and showed where mine were removed while his weren't, I asked for help and received not one damn bit of help. So, the guidelines DO NOT APPLY to everyone if you have people running interference for you and you can make people victims of your bullying and suffer no consequences while the victim is victimized yet again by not receiving any help from Nextdoor. So I requested they close my account, delete all of my info and told them I'm done. So users, beware.
Smooth brained repuklican moderators will stomp on you for not being Qanon enough...The same type of r-words that tried to overthrow the goverment are trying to moderate what you see on this website and it is VERY SLANTED TO THE RIGHT in an EXTREME way. Avoid these short bus r-words by NEVER USING THIS SITE FOR ANYTHING EVER.
We were literally harassed by these people until one day we finally decided to see how it worked we were told that it would cost $93 per month for one FULL month! In less than a week our ad was suspended for non payment! What the heck! So when we called we were told a completely different story! Was not worth it anyways 1 customer came out of it and we are a restaurant that literally stay busy NEVER again! Once they get your money it's a wrap!
NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR ANYTHING EXCEPT FAR LEFT EXTREMISTS and small minded people. Not all but most. I was booted off and account dismantled for not agreeing with getting vaccinated.
I have been receiving next door emails for years and yet when I tried to log back in, they are saying they don't recognize my email...duhhh. Fix your ridiculously stupid app or say goodbye to another customer.
1st off they require your name, address and other personal info but when you leave they told me that they have to keep your info on file. BULL$#*!! They also monitor every word said. I will definitely never use this again. Don't give them your info
You know, if it wasn't that other innocent human beings interact through your platform, it would be nice that Nextdoor because as forgotten as yahoo messenger and other platforms. You think you run a tight ship, but what you are doing is running yourselves to the ground. All your pride, all your detachment from society, as if you're a supreme being, will all come to an end. And your suits and arrogance will become your shame. You cannot hide behind a screen and numbers forever. Your shame, your folly will be brought to judgment. God sees who you are, and even if you try not believe, judgment day is here. So, keep acting in error and absolute vulgarity and you will see how soon the curtain that separates you from the world will be removed and punishment rain down on you like painful rain. So, keep it up for sure soon you will be brought abysmally low.
I created two seperate accounts for seperate residences in Australia (one in Sydney, another in the Central Coast region). This is allowed according to the Nextdoor policies if you have two residences as long as there is seperate accounts for both. I however got wrongly banned for having duplicate accounts. Even their banned message says there is one account per residence. I have appealed this aith the Nextdoor staff and screenshot their policies, but Nextdoor staff are tone deaf. I also attached the banned message and policy to this review. I don't recommend this website.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
