I signed up for Nextdoor was on there less than 2 weeks and have been suspended for what was supposed to be to the 28th of May and when I replied to their email asking me if I can form to their rules and regulations I told them I didn't know what I did but yes I would conform and they have yet to let me back on the admins like to control everyone's world and what they want to see they are not willing to have it as an open forum for people to post their businesses they just like to have power do not use this app let's design another one where people actually have freedom to advertise their businesses and if people don't like it they can move on instead of the admins feeling like they have the power to say not you I don't like you I'm only going to let people in my life like if I could give less than 1 review I certainly would do so
I was on for one day. That's all it took for me to see the lies and gossip that one person can spread, and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. I cancelled right away, made me feel sick to my stomach. These are people that mind their own business, work hard and are just trying to have good lives like the rest of us. They are not even on Nextdoor and can't even defend themselves. They are just wondering why everyone gives them the cold shoulder. And it only takes 1 person to start a rumor. My mom is a lawyer. "Defamation of character is a term that is used to describe when false statement is written or spoken about an individual with the intent of harming or slandering their reputation."
I have been harassed by some people in my community of Chloride Arizona for almost two years. I found out today that it has been organized on this site. My dog was poisoned and killed, numerous break ins, vandalism, computer networks hacked and just straight up blatant lies told about me and my family. What kind of creepy sh*t is this? They have been using this site and ham radios to report my every move, monitor phone calls, etc.
Well I joined about a month ago.
Seemed to be ok, found people who had things to give away, services needed.
Then I had an email from Next door asking if it was true I was moving. One of these neighbors had reported me as moving out of my neighborhood.
It seem that neighbors can make up spurious allegations about anyone and its up to u to prove ur innocence.
Thats rite real neighborly of them, yes sir.
I was requested to send full documentation to prove I was still living in the area I stated when I joined.
Be aware of ur neighbors, some of them, can't be trusted.
U can chose ur friends but not ur neighbors...
I've met so many awesome neighbors and local referrals this app. I always get answer fast and I'm probably on it a heck of a lot more than Facebook. It really helps you get more involved in you community!
Cant say anything but extremely frustrating signing up and finding a neighborhood. Poor experience. I'm unsubscribing immediately.
I wanted to talk politics with my neighborhood members. I was told, that by guidelines I had to start a group in order to do that because of the danger of offending others.
( side note: WOW)
So I started a group, Constitution Defenders. Previous to starting the group, neighbors and I were getting along well. I contributed to many a discussion and got much positive feedback from my neighbors on things I did and said.
After my first post on why to defend the Constitution, I was getting no response. I called a few neighbors and was told I was not on the site. They had removed me and forgot to tell me. WOW, just like Facebook, restrictive.
NO ONE AT NEXT DOOR CARES IF THE TRUTH IS BEING TOLD OR NOT. IF A NEIGHBOR IS TELLING LIES, MAKING ACCUSATIONS, BEING RUDE & CONDESCENDING & TRYING TO RILE UP THE NEIGHBORS & INCITE A RIOT; NEXT DOOR WON'T EVEN REMOVE THEIR POST FOR SOME REASON WHEN SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED IT. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT NEIGHBORLY AND THERE IS DEFINITE PUBLIC SHAMING GOING ON. I CAN'T BELIEVE I GOT SO MANY PEOPLE TO SIGN UP FOR THIS ANGRY SOCIAL MEDIA SITE. I DO NOT FIND FACEBOOK LIKE THIS AT ALL! I WILL TRY TO FIND A WAY TO REMOVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ENTIRELY FROM THIS SITE ASAP!
A "Gang of Five" (dubbed by some neighbors) was posting to stir up trouble in our neighborhood. They want to turn our neighborhood into a hotel by getting the HOA to allow short term rentals. We had a vote two years ago, and the majority of the homeowners voted to ban short term rentals. When the Gang of Five tried to take over the board to push their agenda, they were using NextDoor to spread lies, i. E. things like you will be fined for having your family visit. This is incorrect since your family does not sign a short term lease. This is just one lie they were spreading; there are countless others.
When the neighbors realized we were being lied to by this gang, we started posting the correct information and countering their lies. I did not call anyone names or was belligerent in any way. I simply stated facts as per the legal CC&R's as well as the court transcripts from a settled case (settled against the short term rental landlords). I also encouraged the candidates to state their views on the short term rental subject and asked several candidates who were actively violating the regulations to explain their behavior.
I now can't login. When I submitted a ticket, they said it would be addressed in 24 hours. It has been 2 weeks. No communication what-so-ever from NextDoor. Now I wonder if I was banned. Did they take the liars side over the honest neighbors who abide by the regulations?
NextDoor is despicable. Heaven help you if you actually try to defend your neighborhood against criminals and thieves who are violating the legal regulations. Us honest neighbors don't stand a chance.
Perhaps it was also because I alerted the neighborhood to a contractor that took our money and did not do the job? Maybe the contractor complained about me? Another example of NextDoor taking the side of criminals.
I see that other people expressing opinions are also banned. This app is actually being used by criminals to push their agenda. If honest people speak up to warn their neighbors, they get banned. Be weary. LOTS of criminals using NextDoor. Lots of dishonest people pushing their agenda. If someone speaks up against them, all the criminal has to do is report them, and the honest person is banned. I can sense a lawsuit coming. NextDoor is actively promoting crime.
This app is a joke they basically have head hunters people that dont live in the neighborhoods join and sift out what they call undesirables, If you have an opinion it is best not to share it they are making tattal tales out of grown adults, it is worse than face book, if you do not agree with grown adults they report you after the 2nd report they ban you and send you an email if you ask for reinstatement of your account stating that they will talk with you about letting you continue to have an account lol So I PURPOSE THAT FOLKS START UP A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ya got a multi-billion dollar company with no contact phone number or any way to get in touch with them? Seriously thats a scam artist not a company...
There are those who just wish to cause problems within this website. They will accuse, and lie, and threaten. When they attempt to shut people up who show them for what they are they file a complaint. Nextdoor does not bother to review previous postings. They just put a two week ban on that person; Nextdoor says that it is fair. NO WAY!

I was approached by one of their Customer Care team members to answer a survey to IMPROVE their service.
I provided an honest assessment which in part was critical of an evidence of political bias and overly liberal attitude.
Within an hour of submitting that survey response my Account Access Denied appearedon the log in screen.
Im going to push for governmental oversight on these web sites as it becomes a necessary communication tool thus there should be governmental oversight.
My experience with Nextdoor has been very positive. I'm met people in my neighborhood, welcomed new neighbors, sold many items and generally had a good time. Just like anything else, it depends on how you use it. As a neighborhood information line it is great, if you want opinions go to FB or another forum that is designed for that.
You have a lot of people with nothing to do except report people even if the report is wrong, just to harass you. The leads tend to do favoritism. They get nasty even when there is a good reason to report a post. There is no way to block people from contacting you or having anything to do with your post. The Mute button is the most stupidest thing the person came up with, you cannot see their post if you mute them but they can still see what you post and still contact you. I guess that is why they are called idiots. The owner/founder of Next-door is in trouble with the Law.
I found if you do your homework, you will find a lot of liberals on this site and a liberal created this site. The person who is the creator was pick up for Hit and run. The people, most are liberals doing what liberals do bets, snoop, drama, chastise, talk about nothing intelligent. Some of them are even clicks that talk among themselves and talk about you whether it is true or not. They play a lot of games and they act very infantile. I would like to see NextDoor shut down if you ask me.
All it takes is one halfcocked degenerate to twist everything around with a post, and you are out. No investigation, no inquiry, no being able to face your accuser, or even rebut the accusation.
They are so anti what our principles, as a nation is about, I dont want anything to do with them.
It starts nice, then it shows its nazi claws. Anything you say that may nicely disagree you are banned. It seems that this is a network to spot and control people and I would not doubt the info. Goes to google and the government itself. Globalism is a cruel attempt to remove our freedoms and many platforms are engaged in stealing your rights. I think it is absurd the criteria they use to bann people, even if you agree with someone that they don't like (say, 'saving street dogs is a good think and I think you've done right' boom, you're banned because someone else with more pull said it is not a good thing to save dogs and this is the job for the humane society.
A creepy, creepy site and I think through their claws we can see the danger of their influence (as you know we have now 'thinking police' at university campus to tell who is probably thinking what and whether or not this is the right away of thinking and as a consequence you may be banned from campus if your colleague reports that your thinking is not right in line with hte globalists).
My suggestion, get out and remove all info. From your computer regarding this nexdoor nazi police.
Nextdoor starts out kinda fun and simple minded until you actually post an opinion! If that opinion isn't shared by some of the neighbors, and they complain, your post gets removed. Any attempts to argue your case is ignored by Nextdoor. No explanations for their censorship. The bullies on the site know that to "complain" is tantamount to having a post removed ( when "leads" and neighborhood Board listens only to their friends... the bullies). No Due Process! If you try to reach someone at Nextdoor it is impossible. Only silence! Everything is geared to "silence you". Your ability to receive posts is stopped (without notice or explanation) at the slightest whim of any Nextdoor member who complains, and is part of the "inner circle". Kafka at his worst! I see a lawsuit coming, when enough citizens realize that their rights are being jeopardized by a company that's only interested in selling advertising. Not even an attempt to be fair or just!
Nextdoor should be thrown out of every neighborhood that values it's American civil liberties, and their absolute right to be heard! And, while they're making money off our backs and neighborhoods, there should be an unbiased, monitoring system set up by the federal and state governments to oversee all the national complaints, and lack of due process, committed by Nextdoor. Nextdoor was largely built by volunteer homeowners who thought it would be neat to build a neighborhood-centric social network. Unfortunately, Nextdoor's blind grubbing for revenue via sponsored content combined with its emergence as an online market for crap your neighbors dont want anymore has made it burdensome and largely useless. So many neighbors have dropped off due to the commercial traffic that it is not longer a means to keep in touch with the neighborhood. Just some neighbors.
Moreover, as an early lead who brought over 100 new members, I can just no longer tolerate the incredible rudeness and even blind stupidity of its support staff. Apparently, theyve all been told that ND is all powerful and the only game in town. At least they act like that. Myself and my neighborhood will be moving back to email. Its not worth the hassle.
I restore bikes and sell on Craigslist and Next Door. Craigslist is where you get about 15-20% no shows, or false leads-- i. E. people who send you email and phone calls, but are really not honestly interested in what is for sale- they're just killing time and your patience- Next Door has about 50% responses like, "Is this still available?" and no follow up. For people, Next Door is like channel surfing on their TV. (Really, it's at least 50% or more) When you answer "yes", you simply never hear from them again. People simply love using their cell phones, and their idea of a good time is this dead end inquiry, "Is this still available?". Like poking their head out the front door, "Hey, I wonder if this sun came up today..." HALF CURE: At the top of my ads I now put "IF YOU SEE THIS AD, IT'S STILL AVAILABLE"- This prevents SOME people from asking "Is this still available" - but not all. Unbelievable really. Use your frontal lobes- http://www.BrainRadar.com
They make it impossible to unsubscribe. I no longer live in the neighborhood but they will not remove my name. If you try the help desk there is no way to send them an email.
The service is poor and fills your inbox with junk advertisements
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
