I purchased service from Dotster 12 days before the acquisition by web.com was final and once it was, my site was no longer working and I was told that I needed to purchase web.com service because the dotster service was no longer supported. The product should have never been sold to me. Needless to say, I have not been able to access my full service since and have been forced to find hosting elsewhere.
There needs to be a support number. Sometimes it's easier to explain things via phone and get issues resolved faster. I have hand injuries and typing in chats is not easy and there are a lot of typos that result in confusion on your end.
Repeated notifications about domains I purposly want to expire. There should be an option to turn off notification for domains you explicitly want to expire and never renew.

I have tried for weeks, WEEKS, to update my credit card for billing, add a new one, or even use PayPal to save my domain names from expiring. I have interacted with your chat folk over a dozen times. Without success. Every form of payment is rejected. EVERY FORM OF PAYMENT is REJECTED. I am losing my domains.
But it seems random. Some individual ones I have been able to renew via PayPal, but not directly. I am devastated. Investments I have made just lost. Nobody I can talk to. NOBODY that my credit card companies can call, as the telephone number on the invoice is false. The very number you provide Amex is a fake number that is not in service.
I have been on a call with Amex while they used every tool at their disposal to contact you to sort this out.
And, your really $#*!TY cromer service chat folk refuse to do a manual entry after identifying me through all the required procedures.
SO, After 14 years of loyal customer service, I am tossed to the gutter and my domains discarded.
You get one star only because I cannot give zero. This is a tragedy and a travesty.
Very bad support and User experience in the website. It is become more difficult to use year after year with each update. My account here is more than ten years ago, and managed hundred of domains on it over this period

The website is a pain to navigate. Constantly having to click through ads. Upselling confusing levels of service. Difficult to simply get to email.
This has been the worst experience I have EVER had with a domain and hosting provider. We were brought here from MyDomain where we didn't have problems. I cannot completely edit the DNS records on my own, particularly CNAME records. I have 2 hosted sites, one site comes up under the other's domain, and the other site is mostly down because the other site takes up its domain. Currently, BOTH sites are down and I feel helpless to resolve the situation, I have been on tech support chat at least 8 or 10 times (no exaggeration), and most of the time was because the websites and domains are not matching up. As of this moment, all of our hosted websites are offline. Nobody on your support team seems to be able to resolve our problems and we have no other support options...other than doing the same thing over and over again.
Answer: We are located in Australia and trying to make contact is virtually impossible. They don't respond to emails, Calling them is an expensive international phone call, The time zone is completely different so I had to call at some ungodly hour of the morning, they are not friendly and find dealing with customers a big pain. They offer no real value and have no idea of what customer service is.

Answer: I was working with a consultant from the Small Business Development Center when I began my business. She advised me to register my LLC and then to go to Register.com to buy the domain name before anyone else could. Later on, she suggested Register when I was looking for hosting.
