Your money and personal information is not protected with Netspend. Money was stolen from my HEB debit card in the amount of $572.84 by someone out of the country. Netspend is refusing to refund this money until an investigation which could take up to 45 days. During the email exchange with Netspend they sent me another customer's personal information and card account! Do not trust this company!

This card always locks. Or the put a restriction on this card. Stay away from the card. Or they are always adding fees. If one card is in the negative they will restrict other accounts.

I try to activate a pre-paid card and the activation is not easy and smooth.
They ask for to much information of you.
Like other financial companies, we are required by our bank, as well as MasterCard and Visa associations, to be compliant with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) laws. Both laws require that all financial institutions verify the identity of each account holder.
This means that we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and your government ID number during the activation process. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying information. Card activation and identity verification are required before you can use the Card Account.

I used Netspend for 15 years and one day they said they are closing my account and I'm not able to open another account with them. No reason at all. No weird charges. No fraud. Just closed it. I'm sticking with my little home town bank from now on. I may not get my money 2 days early but at least I won't be treated like a number. Also Netspend has the worst customer service!

This company is fraud! I received a gift card and used $10 on it, tried to use another c $15 and it was declining, I found that odd as I had just checked the balance. I checked my account later that day and saw my balance was $0.00 and I had a pending transaction for the remaining balance at the location my card was declined at. After calling and speaking with them I was told that they saw a partial balance was used which didn't make sense because the total of the charge was less than the balance in the card. They are not doing anything to get my funds back and I believe it's because they did something shady to take the funds in the first place. Ridiculous that they want people to link their direct deposit to them when they steal money

I recently received a debit card, from Net spend, which I I did NOT previously request. I tried unsuccessfully to contact someone live to talk to. RULE NUMBER ONE WAS IMMEDIATELY APPLIED which indicating that that this company is a scam. DO NOT PROVIDE your personal information and disposal the credit card they sent you. That is what they are looking for, your personal information.

Purchased the card and placed $200 on it at time of purchase. Activated the card. First time that I tried to use the card it was denied and advise me to call customer service. Customer service informed me that I was no longer eligible for the card ad they would charge me a fee to refund the balance. Overseas call center reading from a script is always a frustration. I don't recommend Visa or the Netspend BS Debit Card.

My 11 year old received this as a gift with $50 on it for Christmas. We activated it, and he used it once! Over the past 4 months, they STOLE $25 in fees for inactivity. I contacted them, and they said to have my ELEVEN year old contact customer service! They are so stupid and I HIGHLY advise ANYONE to NEVER use these people! They are thrives to ANYONE! And HORRIBLE customer service!

This type of product is intended for individuals who are at least 18 who wish to have access to an electronic form of payment, but would like an alternative to a traditional bank account. The original card package which states “This is not a gift card” on the front of the package. However, we understand that all of the packaging might not have been gifted to the recipient.

Please do not ever use NetSpend or HEB debit which is actually a part of NetSpend but it would seem that the NetSpend customer service don't know that. Do not use these accounts because if your account is ever compromised they won't even have the courtesy of closing the account for you because I've asked and mine is still open and still being used by someone else!

My debit card was compromised and my bank account was hacked. And they stole about $900 for my account. Netspend is making me wait 10 business days to investigate before I can get my money back. They do not care that. I have bills to pay and I am now having to pay late fees and my credit is screwed Now because I can't pay my credit card bills. Until netspend decides to give me my money back. Once I get my money back. I will be closing my account with this company. They do not care the people that stole my money got off easy while I'm stuck here stressed the hell out. I have been with them for almost 15 years I believe. I will never recommend them ever again.

I spent all day yesterday with Netspend securing my account by changing email, password, etc. and now today, another virtual card has charged my account and I have called to speak with someone, they are just reading from scripts. There is a major issue and breach somewhere and nobody is using their intelligence to figure out what is going on, they are just reading scripts. I tell them there are 3 more unauthorized charges on my account and they tell me to wait 3 days because the transacations are still pending and have to wait until they go through, this make no sense to me. They are just letting someone steal my money and not doing anything about it! I am already out about $1000.00 because of this and I need help here!

I have been a Netspend customer for at least 8 years now, with no issues up until July 4. I got a text on that day asking if a certain purchase was one I made, and I said "no", so they instantly blocked my card, and cut off all access to my account. I didn't even have a chance to withdraw any money. I lost $179 out of my account, after getting the new card, to fraudulent charges...so this is twice now. I did get the $179 back, but it took two weeks. Ordered another card, which they charged me for, got that, activated it, same thing. Within minutes of getting paid, I was cyber hacked again, so now that's 3 times. August 2, I get paid, get a few groceries, at the store, and pull a bit of cash out like I usually do, only to find out that minutes after I got paid, $908, which I did not charge, gone out of my account...so, i have basically been broke since payday. The 4th different card since July $ has arrived, and been activated. Meanwhile, I get paid next Wednesday, so we'll see what happens, and I'm still waiting for my $908 to be refunded, if it even will be. Makes me think that one of them is the one dong it, with the frequency that it is happening at...ad the fact that when I call them, they don't want to talk to me, after I give them my name. It certainly makes it seem like someone with Netspend is hacking me.
I was given a card a month ago as a gift, and netspend has already deducted $60 in inactivity fees in that amount of time. Scam, pure and simple.

I got a prepaid debit card for my birthday. It's been 3 months and I finally decide to use it. I was surprised to have balance.25 cent. They have late fee and for every month they will take your money. I wouldn't trust them, with money. All the customer service representative can barely pronounce English words. How you expect me to trust you with my earned money when you take it away without notification.
