I've had this card for about 10 yrs maybe. I've never really had a problem until now. I tried called them on the weekend after message's kept coming to my phone of purchases that I didn't make. Almost 680.00 with their overdraft fees that were added. So, the next day I get a text message asking I made those purchases and I told them no and they locked that card and sent a new one while proceeding to tell me that I had to file a dispute in order to receive my funds back and that they would contact me via email (never did). I called them after no response and was told to give them to the 22nd of May but still no response so, I called them to see what was going on and that's when I received a text message saying that I was being refunded 0.00 which is a crock of bull if you ask me. So I don't trust you and I don't recommend this card to anyone it's just not trustworthy. They did refund what was supposed to be 234.00 but took 65.00 for overdraft fees that I didn't do but great job of scamming your loyal customers! Hats off to ya for that!

I once bought a Visa Netspend Card because my store didn't have any visa gift cards or google play. BUT WHEN I GOT THE CARD, I GOT DECLINED! I PAID $33 DOLLARDS FOR A $30 GIFT CARD, THE COUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE, AND I NEVER GOT MY MONEY BACK

This site is horrible and can't be trusted. I tried to register my card and it required me to create an account. After creating an account and registering my card it told me that other information was required and gave me a number to call. After calling the number and entering the required information it told me that the information was incorrect and disconnected. Speedy cash is a more reliable and safe way to go!

I have the Washington Mutual/netspend Account. If you have a dispute and you want to talk with customer service about it forget it. I don't care how much you lost I don't care if they even did it it's illegal scam you've lost your money it's gone and no one will help you. There's nothing you can do it's illegal scam I should start a couple like this I'll make money hand over fist and there's nothing anybody could $#*!ing do about it.

Worst customer support, just took my money. I bought a Visa card from QFC store but it turned out it's tagged with NetSpend which I was not aware of it. To activate the card, I entered the card number, and security code. At last I was asked to enter the pin number, I did which I thought it's to set up as it's my first time. But I kept getting "sorry we couldn't verify..." bla bla from the automated phone systems. What the... this people are talking about. It's my first time and I should be asked to set up my pin number not to verify it!. Then I called to the customer service 10 times and couldn't help me. What they knew is just transferring me to the automated phone system. Asked the supervisor she is also knew nothing. It seems like all of them are collections of nothing. Now trashing the card since I lost the receipt. This is the worst situation which I need to carefully check the card I buy in the future..

I been with netspend for 5 years and my account was hacked. Scammer took almost $400 and netdpend decided that it wasn't no error found, no provisional credit and case closed within 10 days. If your money is compromised please don't waste time contacting them. Just don't deposit any more money into the account bc they are full of BS

This is a scam. This company charges fee after fee so one never gets the value of the gift card. Avoid this compant at all costs
I went through a domestic violence issue where I was almost murdered. I changed my last name and my NetSpend had money on it. But then my name didn't match. Everything has my new last name even my social security card. They told me because it wasn't for marriage they won't change anything. Because if it was for marriage they would. So never will I use them again.
That doesn't sound right. We are able to accept documents to update accounts where there is a legal name change.

Now I have to get NetSpend because of the place I do my taxes. But I had hell since I had them first off IRS sent my money to what was suppose to be a closed account in 2021 now guys it's 2023. Stay with me now so I don't have that card information for 2021 because the account was closed and I cut up the card now they tell me I can't access any account from that time and the question they ask made me feel so uncomfortable. I couldn't think I told the place I do my taxes with to cancel the business they have with them and they said they will because there been a lot of people upset with them I just won't my 2,000 dollars back that was stolen I reported NetSpend for this and gave names and emails.

My elderly parents gifted me 2 netspend debit cards (by accident thinking they were normal gift cards) for my birthday. I was never able to activate the cards after having to create an account. My call got dropped 3 times calling into their customer support number. Time went by and after a year, I found them in a drawer, called them back to see if they could be activated. What I found out is that they charge over $5 a MONTH for inactivity, so by the time I called in, all the funds on the cards were gone. This is an outrageous business and business practice. I can't recommend this company to anyone.

I was unfortunately gifted some of these cards which are now worthless before I could even use them. These are worse than gift cards - and I didn't even think that was possible. They charged me $6 per month for an "inactivity" fee until there was $1.20 left on the account - which as it turns out won't even cover the transaction fee to use it! This is after I had to give them all my personal information to setup an account... I'm not convinced this isn't a scam. A legitimate company would not have this hilariously insane scheme to take money away from its users every chance it gets.

Don't use this card they will make you kick their $#*! behind you money if I could get to them right now it would be trouble they have cost me over 150 dollars in over draft fees because of a hold they have placed on my account because of a old account attached to my ssn so I can't use the account that has my direct deposit attached to it I want someone to call me but they won't so I am telling everyone that looks at reviews before they get something to not $#*! with this card PERIOD.

Cancelled my account with no notice right on the day I received my payroll DD and for them to say we will mail a check that takes 10 business days. You take fees instantly but to return money that doesnt belong to you takes 2-3 weeks just horrible
Well, to start off, I received a debit card from them in the mail in the same week that my tax return was supposed to come in. I google'd why I might be receiving a NetSpend debit card in the mail if I never signed up for one, and how quaint that the *TOP* (paid) answer is that the IRS will issue NetSpend cards if your bank account is not on file. This seemed plausible, as I was filing in a new state.
Well, stupidly of me I activated the card and was disappointed to find a balance of $0 - no tax return. Further, I received a letter regarding my tax return the next day, and NetSpend had nothing to do with it. Simply a marketing scam from a malicious marketing campaign.
Not terrible, not great - I just won't use it. Well, in the past week that I've had this card, I've had about a dozen marketing (spam) emails from NetSpend, regarding "PLEASE SET UP DIRECT DEPOSIT WITH US! :)" - after the first two, I clicked on the "unsubscribe" button to stop receiving their marketing (spam) emails. Well, the emails still keep coming. I've unsubscribed from their marketing list 3 times, and still I'm receiving multiple emails a day.
Any bank that's BEGGING you to put money into the account that you never signed up for, and will disregard your marketing preferences, is probably one that belongs 6 feet under.

Integrity is not the strong suit of this company. They don't really know how to help their customers and they don't care. And if you're stupid enough to get an account with them or start an account with them, be aware that they will never ever have a solution that is going to be satisfactory. You're better off getting an account with a company that doesn't give a $#*! about you and will close your account if you get hacked I'm calling out Bank of America capital one and Chase Bank. Even though I'm calling them out those are much better than NetSpend.

My son passed away on December 25th,2022.I contacted netspend, they asked me to send documents which I did on January 6th, 2023 and each time I call customer service I get a different story and the run around. DO NOT USE NETSPEND THEY KEEP DECEASED PEOPLE'S MONEY.
