I have used this company in the past to make certain purchases online that I did not want to use my bank card for. I loaded $500 and am unable to access my card. Each time I called it was more dismissive and contradictory than the last. I was given the run around and spent several hours trying to contact someone to resolve the issue. My hardworking money was stolen by people who have no conscience or ability to earn money the honest way. Also, to add insult to injury, why is Jose. B the only person responding to complaints? The unprofessional is unreal. They HAVE TO BE STOPPED!

This is a fraudulent big scam company that must be shut down by the authorities. Purchased a Netspend Master card from Walmart, they cashed the money and never answered the phone to activate the card. We spent over 10 hours over 3 days trying to talk to them, they answered one time then they hunged up.
I am writing this on behalf of a none speaking English friend of mine who came to the US for a visit.

Like other financial companies that offer debit cards, we are required by our bank, as well as MasterCard and Visa associations, to be compliant with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) laws. Both laws require that all financial institutions verify the identity of each account holder.
This means that we will ask for the name, US residential address, date of birth, and government ID number during the activation process. We may also ask to see a driver’s license or other identifying information.

Today I have been trying to get through to customer service. I've called 4 times and was on hold in excess of 1 hour each time through the course of the day. No one ever picks up. I have direct deposit and I will be changing to another company. Netspend is demonstrating that customers are not valued.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Walk into 7/11 on my 18th birthday to put money on one of your prepaid cards to buy some things online. Tried 3 times to activate the card through website and every time it told me something was wrong. I tried calling them 2 times the day of and was put on hold for 30 minutes, I gave up and now 2 days later I am writing this review while I've been on hold for 40 minutes so far. This company is horrible and does nothing to help you. They have over 500 1 star reviews on this website so no way they should even be allowed to be a company because I know so many people have had to put up with this same stuff and lost plenty of money. And I've read reviews and seen the company gives the same lame response to every person so I ask you to not do that to me and give your customers the help they deserve because this is ridiculous

My rating for NetSpend on a scale of -100,(NEGATIVE ONE HUNDRED) to positive +10,(Positive TEN). Would be -100, (NEGATIVE ONE HUNDRED)! They stole my pre-paid funds that was connected to my NetSPEND Debit/ Cerdit Card for no reason what so ever. They have refused to return it! This company and personal are very dishonest and RUDE! THEY STEAL everything that you pre-pay on your card. There is nothing good about these BAD people. They SUCK!

I have 2 netspend cards and a playcard which own by netspend. 1 netspend card I had for 6 or 7 years meter really had a problem. I got 2nd netspend card had for 2 years no problem... my 2 netspend cards was negative made $5 deposit every week so my playcard netspend decide to debit my playcard for the negative balance on the 2 other cards without my consent and the cards was never link.

This company is 100% fraud. NetSpend caters to web identity hackers with their customer support platform. There is no Customer Service. It's all auto generated email response telling you to call a bogus number that sends people on a round robin of tele-prompting for 10 minutes at a time just to get nowhere, with no-one and cut off as your reward for trying! This company needs to be SHUT DOWN BY THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!

You dummies sent me a card and your site sais theres something wrong no matter what i do. Something went wrong. I called several times and went through the recording bs 4 or 5 times and i never once was able to speak to a person. You bozos had me on an indefinite hold playing awful music for god knows how long all gor nothing. I would like to activate my card now if that's ok with you guys?

I think it's ridiculous that you are being charged everytime you use your card. When it's your money unless you pay a $9.99 monthly. I would highly not recommend this card. YOU SHOULDN'T BE CHARGED TO USE YOUR OWN MONEY PERIOD
I've never left a bad review for anybody but this is the worst customer service I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Not only was I put on hold twice for over 45mins while waiting for a supervisor(which never came). They locked my account because of an unauthorized charge which is understandable but then I was told I couldn't use my money until I get a new card which can take 5 business days and there would be no other way to access my funds. I was told at the end by a representative that I should be grateful they were sending another card hahahah wow incredible. Worst experience I've ever had dealing with customer service in my 35 years of life. I will get my card and withdraw all the funds and close the account immediately. How can a place that charges money to keep an account open act like this towards their customers? I wish there was a way I could rate this zero stars.
Beware with this company if someone steals your card and makes fraudulent purchases this company will side with the thief. 500 gone.

I bought a NETSPEND card and these idiots could not activate it and now i know why they have a one star rating on here. I must tell you that the one star is a lot more then they deserve. Every one i talked to their was a complete idiot please do your self a favor do not ever use this company.
Received a card in the mail which I did not apply for which is a HED debit card that can only be used in stores many states far from me. I called the number provided on the documentation and could not get anybody except automated questions asking for sensitive financial information.
Emailed to their contact and then got a phone call and an email indicating a required phone meet time. I've demanded communication in writing only.
I checked their online application forms (see image attached) and none of these functions/work therefore that card account had to have been created by NetSpend organization. This a fraud and nothing more.
Everything about this organization screams run or sue. Pursuing legal reporting avenues.

Went to ace yesterday at 5:12 to cash my check which was for $600 I asked the cashier to put $200 on my card and give me the remaining of the balance in cash. She proceeded to give me my cash and receipts. I woke up this morning and the same lady actually stole the 200 and never put it on my card... I WENT up there and now everybody lost on what happen to the money and what did she do with it. I tried to reach out to corporate and nobody responded this is Beyong a Scam at this point I just want my money

I filed a charge back on May 11 2022 with netspend. I know how charge backs work and it is MY bank that has final say based on information I provided. They are telling me it is the merchants choice if I get it back or not. Bull**it. They are crooks that read from a scipt. I filled a complaint with FDIC and then Stephanie Perkins from corporate started reaching out to me. She seemed helpful at first then she fell into the same BS as all the other people I spoke to. I have all the BS emails from her saying its not up to them it up to the maerchants bank (PAYPAL). I contacted them and they told me if my bank would reach out to them with their findings on my case they would send them the funds to return to me. NETSPEND SUCKS!
