Somebody was charging my account with Google games and they said it wasn't no fraudulent claim when I'm telling them it was because I did not charge that to my account. They don't want to refund me my money and I believe if you can't see it or feel your money it's a chance it could be stolen. I believe they care too less about refunding your money longs as they get theirs. Because every charge that's made on your account they get money. So refunding your money it's taking money from them so they won't find your case fraudulent I believe you got to fight for your rights

This company has been nothing but problems for me and my family. There employees are disrespectful and lazy. I'm hung up on and put on hold for hours. Net spend is fraudulent company who is taking advantage of hard working people.
And has put me in a bind. Several times. Iv been left on hold for hours, disrespected by staff, and hung up on. Most of the staff can't speak English and are lazy.

I was on the phone for 1 hr and 45 minutes trying to activate this. Then they put a red flag on my account to where I could not use it because I live in Canada. Pulled my personal info from credit files without my permission. All for a birthday gift sent to me from my parents. I ended up canceling. Then they wanted to send the funds on the account to said Canadian address that they had the issue with in the first place. Customer service are clueless. They won't answer questions that are asked. They read from A script. Give a runaround. Keep you on hold for hours. Refused to send me a confirmation of cancellation Email. They are janky at best. Then after talking to a rep. She put me on hold and bam, I'm back at the recorded menu for when you call in. So I then am talking to yet another rep. Requesting A confirmation email. Then he tells me that they are sending the check to my Mom's US address with my name on it. I just soent 45 min. Talking to the other rep to get that changed. What good will a check do her with my name on it? I don't care if they send it to me or her at this point. I just want to get her money back. I asked them to send it to her with her name on it. If they send it to me, put my name on it. How hard can it be?! Or better yet, credit the account back (you know… a true refund) back to the card it was purchased with. Waste of time. No resolution. I'm honestly angry beyond words.

Like other financial companies that offer gift cards, we are required by our bank, as well as MasterCard and Visa associations, to be compliant with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) laws. Both laws require that all financial institutions verify the identity of each account holder.

This means that we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and your government ID number during the activation process. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying information. Users are required to provide their permanent residential address in the US and our cards are only available in the US.

I took out a Netspend card for my son who has a disability, so he can have some self-sufficiency and learn to manage his finances. I personally opened the account, added my number, my name etc as a note to his account, but his name is placed as the card holder. He recently traveled out of the country. I called Netspend ahead "before he traveled" and told them he would be traveling, so the card would be used overseas and I named the specific country. The agent said the account was noted, he would be fine. He got to his destination, tried to use the card and it kept saying EXCEEDED limit. I called Netspend on his behalf to find out what was going on. First off, he was NOT even trying to withdraw a fraction of what he had on the card. It took 4 different calls and SEVERAL hours for them to say that the card could NOT be used in the country that he visited, so he was just out of luck. Nothing they could do!. We eventually asked if the balance on his card could be transferred to his sister's card since she was still in the states. They said YES! Then in the middle of him giving them the authorization for the transfer, the agent said there was a FREEZE, so he can no longer do the transfer, but could transfer us to the department that handles that. I. e. FRAUD dept. We were transferred to the fraud dept. After lengthy holds and many "CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE US A FEW MINUTES blah blah blah", he got disconnected. AFTER giving all authorizations for me and his sister to handle the transfer seeing that the phone connection was unstable. Netspend insist that they could NOT proceed with the transfer til he was back on the phone. Mind you, this is after KNOWING that I have power of attorney, this information is IN THEIR FILE on RECORD, my phone number is listed as contact etc. THEY REFUSED TO RELEASE THE HOLD ON THE CARD. No proper reason was given, they IGNORE the fact that he has a DISABILITY and he is in another country without access to his monies. We had to send money to him via Moneygram from our own pockets! NETSPEND IS TRASH! ONCE THEY FOUND OUT HE TRAVELLED, THEY MADE A CONSCIOUS DECISION TO FREEZE HIS MONIES. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD!

Net spend sucks, they are extremely extremely bad. They don't put direct deposit into account when they are supposed to, they take forever to update and terrible terrible customer service and I was on the phone for over 50 minutes.

I bought at Walmart 232 Dollars since thursday I been trying to activated and call and explain to them I haven't give Any name no one. Is a prepaid card for God sakes. I am trying to activated. All I get is my debit card IS NOT ACTIVATED and that my name or social doesn't match with what they have on their system. How is that possible if I open the card my self out of the box and gave it to no one. I try to get a refund and was told the same my name doesn't match I have to email to them proof Id social security proof residence. But if my name doesn't match I WILL NOT GET A REFUND. How is that possible I will get with my lawyer and spend what ever I need to spend I will get the company to pay back that money. Is not about the money no more I am done trying to get someone in the company for help and all I get is "you need to activated on the system" after I have explain everything. Stealing money from people that's ridiculous.

Another bad review

I had my account closed due to a fraud transaction and my account was shut down randomly on a Saturday after bank closing hours so I was left with nothing to do but wait for Monday. I get my card emailed to me today finally and I have little time to activate it to use it and everyone on the phone has been no help. Everytime I get past being on hold forever, they instantly ask you for your name over and over and most the time will follow it up with the fact that they can't hear you and to hang up and call again. This is a long process as you have to listen and put in your card information everytime you call multiple times. I've called 7 times so far and have hardly received help, I verified a ton of information with two people only for one to send me back to the original "put in your card number audio" and for the second to give me the wrong email because I apparently have to email a ton of things to them to verify what I just did. When I called for the email, which I was told to call back if I needed help, I was just taken through the same process and asked the same "verification" questions AGAIN. I was literally just trying to get the email to send my documents and I'm being asked the same million questions so she can "make sure everything is right" even though I told her I just confirmed it multiple times. Now I've finally sent the documents and am hoping this all isn't just a stupid scam because that's what I'm getting from this. Don't recommend getting your card sent in the mail because they won't be able to activate it because they don't know what they're doing and it'll waste hours of your time just to end up frustrated and get no assistance or make any progress.

Netspend has no one that works for them worth a damn. Nobody has the same information and had got to be the rudest people I've ever dealt with. They activated my card incorrectly so it's useless and now they want me to wait to get my money back. Did they wait when I purchased their service... No! Neither will I. I give them a zero hands down no question. It made me click at least one star. THEY DONT DESERVE IT!

Bought a prepaid card but when I went to activate it I had no idea you had to send them a picture of your social security card and a ID like wtf no business should ever need you to send them that kind of information online so I refused and wanted my $40 refund back which they said they can only send me a check but when I got the check a week later I couldn't cash it anywhere because not one single bank or money place would accept it which to me is because netspend is shady af and their checks are considered a third party check which no one wants to cash so ya even though they gave me a refund they still made sure I got screwed over. So I guess my 40 dollars just went down the drain. So all i could say is DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH NETSPEND IN ANY WAY

NETSPEND SUCKS!
April 25, 2022

23 March 2022, my benefits were direct deposited to my card, which i didnt know, was locked and closed. I called they said they put the monies on a new card, and gave me the last 4 numbers of the card. On the 13th day, i called, i never received, so they said they were sending a check to my home, another 13 days, I call they said they dont know why, but i cant have a card, and they sent the monies back to the treasurer. Here it is, the 24th of April 2022, and i still have not received the monies. Thank you NETSPEND, i wouldnt recommend you to a worst enemy. You can stick your cards, up your $#*!!

Honestly, you'd be better off trusting a complete stranger on the street with a CashApp to load funds than NetSpend.

I bought and used cards, but had a remaining balance I attempted to recover. First they said they'd return it because I didn't have the necessary documents to get the "block" lifted on my account. No biggie, I'll take my money. A month later, they say sorry, we lied, never sent it. We need your documents to give you YOUR MONEY back. No problem, I provide a Passport, SSN and W2 with the account address. Now the W2 is too blurry. Imagine how many people buy cards that they do this to, hoping they just give up so they can keep the money. Criminal organization.

I received the NetSpend card as a gift. What a joke. Attempting to activate this card online did not work. Tried using the 866 number. When I finally got to speak to a human, I was disconnected twice, on the third try, i was told i would have to SEND IN a photocopy of my driver's license or a utility bill AND a photocopy of my social security card before the card could be activated. Needless to say, this was a waste of time and money.

You need to hire more English speaking Reps. I have to keep repeating myself and then they don't understand what I'm asking. Just today one of your Reps reported my NetSpend card as stolen and it was blocked. The problem is it wasn't that card! I have an All Access account and it was used so they replaced it. The same Rep said she didn't see a new card ordered. Now I have 2 accounts with money on them and I can't use either one because they're both blocked! Now I have to go all weekend with NOOOOOO MONEY.

This company sucks their customer service are dummies I told them do not cancel my card I had a $79 charge I did not agree with the email I sent the company that charged me the $79 it was already taken care of before I was through talking to the guy in less than 15 minutes and he said okay so you'll be issued a new card and I said no no no you dummy off you fool I told you do not do that it's the first of the month my bills are due I have auto-pay setup don't do that I told you do not do that while we're going to have to do it it's already done I said I want to talk to your supervisor an hour and a half later yes I'm going to lose my card my bills are screwed up it's the first of the month too bad they don't care and then the other thing they charge you for everything they charge you $5 service fee for nothing I've ever heard of any Bank charging you a service fee $5 a month that's a lot of money over the time especially when you figure your money then all the sudden ban why did this 5 hours ago I was their service fee yeah I'm done with these crooks!

I filed my 2020 taxes last year just now bout to get them just to go on my account to see that my routing number has completely changed & they added 7000 in front of my account number now making it impossible for me to receive my taxes through my direct deposit. Call customer service just for them to tell me I put the wrong info in so glad I screenshot my info. To messy I will never use netspend again & advise others not to use them as well! Straight Garbage! The real Rating No star at all!

They have lied over and over about transactions on my card. I never recieved all this money back. They hung up on me every single time. This is such bull s$&*. I am out $2600 cause of these people. They do not care to help anyone. I will get my attorney at this point. I know at least 20 other they have done this to. Cash app has told me themselves that I should of received yesterday!
