Naca is a great program that offers affordable housing. The staff is amazing and definitely help you with reaching your goals of becoming a homeowner. I am Realtor and have helped 4 clients of becoming a homeowner through Naca. For anyone that is thinking about becoming a homeowner Naca is a program I highly recommend.
New to NACA, started the programs many months ago, I'm guessing due to the pandemic the process is very slow. Also learning to be organized with paperwork, cause will need a lot to keep track, something I never did before. I really want my own home, I hope naca can help me get it. Definitely need to be patience
Experience with NACA is by far the worse. I was supposed to have a meeting today and my experience was terrible. The firs text me to expect a phone call within an hour. Off of a hunch i happened to check my email. The counselor sent me an email at 9:17am indicating that i should join the Go To meeting. The counselor specifically she will stay in the meeting till 9:20am. I joined at 9:21am she was already gone. The point is why no phone call like? Why send an email and only allow then to join within 3 minutes? I reach out to Live customer support to only be told i have to wait till 2022 to register again. I was honestly looking forward to NACA until this terrible unprofessional experience.
My husband and I were hesitant on buying a house, we thought we wouldn't meet the requirements. Until we found out about the NACA program. Darryl Hughes has been the best with assisting us through this whole process and we couldn't be any happier.
I am a 50 year old divorcee resident of Louisiana and I am currently going through the NACA process. I wanted to write a review based on my current status. As of today, I have gone through 2 intake appointments and will have what I pray to be the beginning of my qualification process appointment at the beginning of May. I have known people who have gone through NACA to purchase their home, some who did not have great things to say about the process, so when I started this, I went in with the prayer that God would give me the patience I needed as well as to not give up, no matter what. So far, I won't say that it's been super easy but I will say that it has absolutely taught me the importance of a savings and not giving up. I am excited for what NACA has to offer and I would encourage anyone looking to purchase a home to sign up for a workshop class in an area near you, for more information. I can't wait to do an update on finally closing on my new house.
Not many homebuyer programs offer $0 down and no closing cost. NACA prepares you for home ownership and you must be prepared to do the work. It teaches you to save and budget. I am so excited and ready to start my journey this journey is not for the weak.
Our assigned counselor for the event was very helpful and was thorough and diligent on our meeting. Answered a lot of questions and was extremely helpful in giving us tips and tools on how to get approved.
NACA has a great first time home buyer program and I am extremely please with this organization's dedication to advocacy and equality. Customer service was great and those that have assisted me in my home buyer process worked extremely hard to help me to understand the process. I am pleased with how this process was conducted and I would recommend everyone to look into it to see if it is the right program for you.
I am very happy my previous mortgage counselor told me about this program. Its very helpful and i would say a little less stressful than the traditional. I would recommend to anyone and i have already to some family members and co-workers as well.
It is with great pleasure and utmost happiness that I share my appreciation for Mortgage counselor Langston Wright and NACA upon becoming a qualified home buyer. I started the application in March 2020 and was not sure of when I would become qualified. I was so fortunate enough to have Mr. Wright who took time and immense patient to support me to meet all the requirements. This is a great stride in my entire life and I'm now one step closer to purchasing a home. I'm optimistic that NACA and its dedicated staff like Mr. Wright will accompany me realizing my longtime dream of becoming a home owner. While looking forward to proceed to the next step in the process, I wanted to express my heartfelt appreciation for the service that Mr. Wright offered which made be heavily indebted to NACA in the years to come. Kudos Langston; Kudos NACA!
7 months in and I still haven't been submitted for qualification (pre-approval). My MC has responded to 2 emails/0 calls. Tried escalating to his manager to no avail. I paid NACA fees 2x (2020 & 2021). He also missed multiple appointments with no explanation.
I just had an ATD appointment with a counselor from a different state who said my local MC put my info in wrong and only approved me for $148k, low priority. She said I have to deal directly with him.
I've been approved for $250k with conventional lenders and have an 830 credit score. My lease is up in 3 mos. And I no longer will be wasting hours uploading docs that no one will review. NACA is a scam.
I've been working on it for a few months now. I got my first appointment within a week, and all staffs are very cooperative and helpful. The counselor is excellent and helps me a lot. I am pleased with how the process is going yet. All went smoothly. The counselor was particular about what was expected of us and what we wanted to do next to move forward. I am so glad to join this incredible team.
NACA has open the door to home ownership for me and my family, just when it seems we would not be able to achieve our dream. They have the best interest rate in the market and no money down.
Our experience with NACA has been good so far, We were very skeptical at first but after meeting with the NACA representative its been very good. We are very impressed with the information given and how it was explained in detail.
I went to the NACA meeting and I was extremely excited about what I heard. They were there to help the common citizen buy a house. They also shared their benefits like no closing costs and low interest rates. I then applied for an appointment and they were extremely busy with the scheduling. The person doing the scheduling was extremely nice and helpful. I live in Las Vegas. She promptly contacted me and if any problems occurred she clearly explained it and quickly resolved it.
So far its been going on well, my counselor is really helpful, but you have to be patient because we keep submitting our pay stub and bank statement, its quite exhausting doing that. We are still in the process.
I found out about this home buying program, no down payment, no closing costs, no private mortgage insurance, no fees, they don't look at credit scores and can help people become homeowners. A friend of mine referred me. He knew of someone close to him who actually became a homebuyer through this program. I've already started the process and have been in communication with them. They are very helpful and I'm excited about my journey to soon becoming a homeowner.
Would be a great program without the racist, if they responded to your concerns. Applied for a job and never heard back at all after several attempts.
If you can get past all that it is great to be able to buy a home this way.
I purchased mine on my own anyway.
NACA is an excellent program for those low to moderate income who can't get traditional lending to buy a home. NACA program has no down payment, closing cost or pmi and don't rely on a credit score. They also help you with budgeting, saving your money and how to clean up your credit. I highly recommend this program, as I am currently in this program to buy my first house.
If you have low standards of professionalism and absolutely nothing but time and you are not looking to move anytime soon, stick around. If you expect white-glove treatment or a stellar customer experience then you may want to look elsewhere. I have not talked to a single person yet that has made me feel confident that we will be able to buy a home soon. They do not call back, answer emails, get to appointments, or scheduled events on time. They even sent me another member's personal information when sending me documents! Today we started at 9 AM, following our place in the queue for our Achieve the Dream event, literally checking the website every 10-20 minutes to check our spot in line, only to finally get an email at 7:54 saying to join the web meeting. Then it should come as no surprise that when we joined the meeting, you guessed it - NO ONE WAS THERE! We had to wait a month and a half for this appointment. I suggest going elsewhere.
Naca is a helpful program. I recommend this program to my family and friends! They see how excited I am...

Answer: I decided to go with NACA because they don't consider your credit score and the counselors work with you to become qualified. NACA has made me more diligent with saving money by not spending on wants but needs. This method has strengthen my assets considerably. Also, because you have to volunteer your services as you see fit at least 5x a year which is great because you are giving back to the community. DEE in Far Rockaway
