We started the process May 2020 with the Homebuyers Workshop. We wanted to give ourselves plenty of time to get thru this process being and didn't have to worry about our lease, as it was month to month. Cleared up things on our credit reports and began saving. We had two counselor switchs before our first intake and our current one is great with responding and going over our file. June 2021 is our next appt and we're hoping to qualify at that appt. When we're close I will come back and edit to add my experience if I can. So far we have had a decent experience.
I started this process and reached out with help due to multiple errors during the workshop. After calling and speaking with someone I was told my only option is to go through the workshop again. Setting time aside, baby sitters, and waiting longer to purchase is unrealistic. There was no concern or suggested attempts to help me!
I signed up at the end of the 2020 it has helped me set a budget and save a good amount of money to get on track to buying a new home, Cecilia answers any issues I have in a timely matter, I feel this process will help me mange my money generationally not just during the process of home buying.
Naca is a scam. They are a waste of time and their counselors instead of helping they dishelp you. You have to be resubmitting paperwork that were already there and then Sum. Then calling them multiple times to remind them of your appointment. But their quick for taking your membership money plus credit report money. Then you have other income they wont take because they want more proof even if you show them a letter from Court. STAY AWAY and go to a different lender. Their System SUCK!
The process is truly stressful but it has been worth it so far. The workshops have taught me so much about home buying and i feel much more prepared that I was when I just started. Case worker Mr. Swanson was very forthcoming, informed and just had the best sense of humor which made my interview less nerve racking than i thought.
NACA Is An awesome program. I purchased a home through NACA in 2009, sold that home in 2020 and decided to use NACA again in 2021. My counselor, Erna, is a Godsend! She is knowledgeable and extremely thorough. I highly recommend NACA to anyone and everyone who wants to make home ownership a reality.
I'm a first-time homebuyer. I'm a step away from being NACA qualified! My process has been great thus far! I'm very please with the service I've received from my NACA counselor. If you follow the action steps and get all your paperwork together, the process will be smooth. This homebuyers program offers lower interest rates than FHA, and there is no PMI insurance, closing costs, and no down payments.
This program is amazing! I am so pleased to know that there are so many counselors willing to help find a house for you! Our couselor Faith, has been amazing through this whole process! She has been willing to help answer any questions we had and helped us every step of the way on our appointments! I highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to buy/own their home!
I'm not insanely involved with this because I'm just a college student living with my mom and family, but this company has wonderful employees assisting my mom every step of the way making her only dream of owning her own house a possibility. I'm thankful for NACA and what how important they are to our family.
My family and I have been working with NACA for the last few months. They have help us navigate the requirements to obtaining a mortgage, making sure we are ready both financially and realistically for home ownership. Our councilor Faith is very knowledgeable and proficient and thanks to her guidance we are closer to owning our own home.
This program is awesome and our representative was very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us down the pathway to housing independence. Thx
I am currently in the home search /recertify status of my journey with Naca... I'm excited about becoming a homeowner. My counselor (Jennifer M.) was amazing I had a very smooth certification process. I have referred several people to signup for the program.
I started with Naca in October 2020 - certification is good for 6months after that you will need to recertify; basically you will review with counselor your financials (employment /income/address) history to see if you still meet qualifications to participate.
Naca is a homeowner ship (owner occupancy)/no investor/ Non 1st time buyer program that assist members in becoming homeowners; with a focus on community involvement. They provide financial counseling to get you ready to purchase If you need it. They offer No closing cost; No down payment; No points or fees; below market fixed rates on 30/15 year loans. Interest rate buy down; with no perfect credit score required. Your purchase power is based on your income / (DTI) debt to income ratio.
I started my NACA journey in October 2020. I missed my first counseling session after receiving a text stating that some one would call in the next 60 min. I waited all day and was number 860 in line. No one called, and the office was closed when I called them. I realized hours later that the information was emailed when I was to join the call. The next appointment was scheduled 3 months later. I had a question for the counselor, so I called a week before the appointment. It went to the voice mail of someone who was not my counselor. The voice mail was full. I emailed her and the email was returned. I called NACA headquarters and left 2 messages before someone in escalations called me back, 2 days before my scheduled session The lady was apologetic and professional. She informed me that my assigned counselor was no longer with the company. The metropolitan area where I live had no appointments until 2022. She found a counselor for me in a different city. His name is Dwayne Jordan and he was awesome! I have another appointment with him on July 9th. I hope and pray to Yah that My husband and I can get through this process and find a home before our lease is up in September. I feel that what NACA is doing is great, they just need more help. I encourage anyone who has mortgage background, IT, administrative etc. to volunteer or apply for a paid position so that they can really do the job of helping people to purchase a home.
I have been interested in home ownership for a while now, and a previous coworker told me about the NACA program, as did someone else I'm aquainted with. I signed up to attend a workshop in 2019, and continue to work with a very knowledgeable Loan counselor, Michael, who is very instrumental in directing me in the right direction and communicating next steps to progress me to the finish line of mortgage qualification and home ownership. I'm excited to be on this journey and hope to be approved for home ownership very, very soon.
I must admit, when my mother and I initially discussed NACA, it all sounded way too good to be true in my opinion. Prior to having any insight, I was a little hesitant. NACA has gratefully proven me wrong. I have witnessed the constant follow ups from NACA agents and have been impressed by the dedication and motivation they have assisted my mother with. While she is self driven and devoted to her goals, I know they have shown her that her dream home is possible, and in the soon future. There isn't a day that passes where I do not hear her describe her excitement and appreciation for this program, which has excited us all, as a family! NACA has made this dream a reality.
Heard the saying "you reap what you sow"? Well in this case, your NACA counselor is there to guide you through the process, so putting in your effort will lead you to echoing fruitful results from your sow. I have continued to view several successful homeowners which is why despite my lengthy process as a result of my sow/input, I have faith I will fruitfully reap! My current counselor Faith Beach has been more than wonderful to me at this point. She is very knowledgeable and patient. I believe she has faith in me too. Learning about the NACA program through a church member has led me this far. There are very many successful stories of homeowners I have encountered since I found out about the program. I find that I have received more education about homeownership through the program and all NACA bloggers. I'm 100% sure that I'm going to reap more than what I have sown in this process because of those that have held my hand along. I hope everyone can acquire patience and the knowledge of this NACA home buying program, no down payment, no closing costs, no private mortgage insurance, no fees, they don't look at credit scores. I fully recommend NACA.
My mom told me about a housing program called NACA and how it's suppose to help you buy a house. She seems excited so if she's happy I'm happy. All she does is talk about NACA and how she is closer to being approved for a loan. She said her counselor is working with her to speed up the process. I'm not sure how she stumbled upon this program but I'm glad she did because I haven't seen her so adamant about something like this in a while. Thank you NACA for giving my mom something to look forward to!
Due to COVID adding another layer of delay for our appointments, our Counseling appointments were longer than usual (my husband and I had to wait a period of 3 months each time). But anyone with common sense and time can see NACA is worth it. To go through the process, one has the opportunity to develop healthy financial habits. Not only do you create these lifetime positives for yourself and family but once done with the NACA process, you will have a home. NACA works if you work with them and we believe it is an awesome program for first time buyers. We would recommended to family and friends.
My husband and I was referred by a friend because of what Naca offered No Down Payment, No Closing Cost, No PMI and Below Market Fixed Rate, we attended the home buyer workshop where it detailed the process from start to finish from that point we received our NACA number and started uploading our documents once our documents were completed we were able to get an appointment with one of the NACA counselor Sharon Bogney.
Sharon has really helped us in the process if we have any questions she's quick to answer and has been very patient with us, so make sure you have all your documents in order and debt paid off. Our Next appointment is October 6th we are looking forward to be Quilified. *******@naca.com
Naca is a program which allows you to buy a house with my down payment, no closing cost, no pmi and etc. This program helps you to recognize where/how your spending your money. It helps you to be accountable for your actions. It helped me to see where I was spending to much money and where I can save more. I would suggest this program to everyone. I haven't finished the program (bought my house) but I know, I will. And when I do, I know it will be with an amount I know I can afford.

Answer: I decided to go with NACA because they don't consider your credit score and the counselors work with you to become qualified. NACA has made me more diligent with saving money by not spending on wants but needs. This method has strengthen my assets considerably. Also, because you have to volunteer your services as you see fit at least 5x a year which is great because you are giving back to the community. DEE in Far Rockaway
