Very helpful
December 23, 2021

We were not planning to buy a house in the U.S. A however a friend of ours walked us through the program and we decided to give it a try. The whole experience has been very helpful, our last counselor has been guiding us and helping us a lot through the whole process which was completely new for us. We are very grateful for all the information given and all the guidance we have received in each session and by email too. Highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to become a homeowner

When first contacting this organization I thought things would be great. I met with my counselor and within 1 week all of the required documents had been uploaded. A few days later the counselor began asking questions about information that had already been submitted so I had to resubmit some of the items. This went on for about a month. Then for my 2nd counseling session the counselor had some technical issues and said that she would have to reschedule, but never did. When the time came for my counselor to submit all of my documents to underwriting 3 months had passed, only for underwriting to respond requesting documentation that was irrelevant. Things like, "Have him write a letter to explain why his driver's license address is different from his physical address." My former home address was on my license and this information had already been uploaded. There were about 6 more request that the underwriter requested similar to this. I explained to the counselor that the info was already in the system and it did not make sense to have to write all of these letters of explanation. After stating my opinion about the request, I never heard from my counselor again. I don't plan to renew my NACA membership, and I feel that this was a waist of time.

Worth the wait!
December 15, 2021

It's been a long process but I've had the support from Benard Obichie, my mortgage counselor and Lakea Perry, my realtor I needed through the whole process.

Me and my wife started this process back in March of 2021. It's now December and we haven't heard back from NACA in over a month. This process was so long and we had to gather more information than necessary for the underwriters. Worst of all, our counselor LaJundra Carr literally stopped responding to our emails and questions. A complete waste of time. I also talked to other Realtors and they told me they never knew anyone to actually finish the program. I applied with a bank and got qualified within a month. I can't tell you how frustrating it's been with this program. Most of the people who write good reviews are still waiting to get approved.

First Time Home Owner
December 15, 2021

My wife and I are currently working with our NACA Counselor and so far the experience has been great. They are very clear on everything you need to provide in order to keep the ball rolling. It's a lot of paperwork, but totally worth it. We are thrilled!

NACA-Awesome Program
December 10, 2021

NACA is an awesome program. I was able to purchase my first home as a single parent through this program. The first step is to attend a workshop. NACA will ask you to submit financial statements and documents. It is important to be organized and to communicate with your loan officer. I would highly recommend the program to everyone. I appreciate all of the advocacy work NACA does to leverage the homebuying process for low to moderate-income families. Thank you!

Best Mortgage Around
December 9, 2021

This is a wonderful mortgage product. Although, they do not look at your credit. It is wise to approach this the same way you would any other mortgage loan. Have your credit history in order, make sure you have a great payment history and collect all of the financial documents you think you will need in preparation. The process is long and very drawn out but worth it in the end. Just make sure you do your part to stay on top of everything.

Thank you for your comments. The tens of thousands of dollars you will save compared to any other mortgage product will always make the NACA program worth the time and effort!

Its up to me
December 8, 2021

I have been involved with NACA off and on for some time, but in recent months I have decided to be more consistent and stick with it this time. So far it has been a great experience. I feel like I will finally see a light at the end of this tunnel of being a forever renter and finally be able to own my own home. NACA definitely works, the rest is up to me.

Best Mortgage Program
December 8, 2021

I found out about this home buying program, no down payment, no closing costs, no private mortgage insurance, no fees, they don't look at credit scores and can help people become homeowners. I have a friend that went through the program. I've already started the process and have been in communication with them. They are very helpful and I'm excited about my journey to soon becoming a homeowner.

Word of mouth is by far the most common method by which people learn about the NACA program, as was the case with you and your friend. We wish you the best on your journey to homeownership!

My experience with NCCA
December 7, 2021

I'm still in the process of trying to get all my paperwork in order with NACCA program. So far I like how the make the approval process will simple and step by step. I like how they do check all your financial backgrounds in order to see if you can afford to buy house from the first place. I do warn folks out there that sometimes your appointment might get delayed from time to time due to some counseling short staff with the NACCA service. Their interest rate is the slowest out there by miles.

Thank you for your comments. The NACA process is indeed a step by step process, guided by your counselor. Working closely with your counselor and making sure to have all documents submitted as needed or requested is key to completing the process efficiently. We wish you all the best on your journey to homeownership.

First off let me say I love this program. I started off going through other lenders trying to purchase a house and it was so many fees and other things holding me back especially not having the right credit score. So I was told about the NACA program and did my research. I heard nothing but good this about them help people become first time homeowners and helping lots of people save their houses as well. It helped hundreds of thousands of families find affordable homes with no down payment, closing costs, credit score hurdles, or mortgage insurance. However, you must meet specific program requirements. Everyone can be qualified if you do whatever it is that they need you to do to get qualified. I started my workshop in February 2021. I'm just waiting to be resubmitted because I was missing something's when I first was submitted but if you do your part and upload everything in a timely manner then it wouldn't take you long as others. So hopefully once I have my next appointment next week I'll get submitted and next hopefully I will have my house by February. Their counselors are amazing and help you along the way especially LaTisha Geters. She is amazing and get the job done. I really recommend this program to everyone.

Great
December 6, 2021

My uncle went through Naca told me about it. I'm in the first step of the program, this easy, you just have to follow the steps feeling the files on the website. The counselor's are great to me very helpful, if you have any questions, they're more willing to help you. I recommend naca to everyone.

Thank you for your comments. The NACA program is in fact a ten-step process to homeownership that has led to more than 70,000 homes being purchased with terms that cannot be beaten anywhere else. We wish you the best on your journey to home ownership.

Naca Review
December 5, 2021

I just started with Naca. I must say I'm already irritated and discouraged. My counselor will tell me on one call I need these documents, I submit all of them. Then, I receive an email stating I need additional documents I knew nothing about. Now I'm told I need to do a google review. You begin to wonder is it really true.

We are sorry to read of your frustration. We make it clear from the very start that the NACA program uses full-document underwriting and takes no shortcuts in qualifying our members for our Best in America mortgage. However, that is exactly why we are able to provide terms that no other mortgage program anywhere can match.

This means each member’s file is different, may need additional documents, and take more or less time than another member. The active participation of each member is an absolute necessity.

Even though it may take more time and effort on the part of the homebuyer, the tens of thousands of dollars saved by using the NACA mortgage makes the time invested more than worth it.

NACA – Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America

On 12. 2. 2021 my husband and I had our first counseling with Ms. Acosta. As expected, the session was lengthy but very rewarding. Ms. Acosta was professional, knowledgeable and very personable. All of our questions were fully addressed and our expectations were set accordingly. I have no doubt that NACA will help me to help myself, in becoming a home owner in the very near future. The amount of documentation required is nothing, given that our expectation is to have a lender ultimately extend us the opportunity to purchase a home. My advice to others is to be diligent, patient and prayerful. I look forward to our next session in late January 2022. Thank you. Silvia T. (GA)

Excellent comments! The NACA program does take patience and commitment, but in the end, the savings over any other loan make it will worth the effort

From the business

NACA's primary goal is to build strong, healthy neighborhoods in urban and rural areas nationwide through affordable homeownership.
