This was the 3rd... maybe 4th year I've used the product.
To be fair, its a massive undertaking to produce something as comprehensive as this software so I give them credit. But...
It has already cost me an extra $3,000 in penalties for one of my clients - that I had to pay- because, unlike ProSeries, for instance, some forms did not integrate and as a result, the tax calculation came up short for my (well heeled) client.
My BIGGEST complaint, is that their state modules are weak. I'm in Illinois, and their error codes are not only INDECIPHERABLE and cryptic but inadequate when you do the EFILE check prior to filing.

I've had more returns BOUNCE after getting a clean EFILE review UNLIKE ProSeries which I really like... except for cost. I wish I could cut and paste one of the error messages I got AFTER FILING the State of Illinois but the system wouldn't let me.

Unless they figure out the EFILE check so that it works AND make the error codes user friendly, this software is suitable only for simple 1040s and very experienced preparers. I am a verified customer and not very happy.

This is my first year using the MyTaxPrepOffice software and it is one of the best software programs I have previously used. The software takes a bit of practice to navigate but with practice it becomes easier to complete the forms. The training videos and content they have within the program and YouTube is very helpful to learn the basic functionalities of the software. The online chat support usually is quick to respond and very helpful. Call support is also very quick to respond without plenty of hold time.

I just had yet another productive and positive experience with the support people at My TAXPrepOffice. Thank you Jessica T! She went the extra mile, and was able to resolve the question on the spot, when it looked like it might have to go into their research and calculation people, and take more time. This is one of many positive interactions I've had with their support people. They have been able to resolve our questions when encountering a few quirks in the software. The software is reasonably priced and they continue improvements. This makes MyTAXPrepOffice a practical choice that allow us to serve many of our clients who have more basic returns. Me and my wife were very excited on switching to MyTaxPrepOffice as it was cloud based and it's interface looked very good and prices were very attractive. However, when we started using it, we had a feeling there were some errors based on our experience with the clients and returns. We still had access to our previous software that we were switching from because of it's price, so we decided to test. At that point we started preparing tax returns in both software and it was shocking to see multiple errors in the returns prepared on MyTaxPrepOffice. Their customer support is very good that I acknowledge but they are not very familiar with the errors we notified and they had to submit the ticket and then after a few days someone from expert team will contact to resolve the error and 'fixed' the software. Overall they are fixing the software gradually as people notifcy them of errors but this has been a continuous drill. We are not sure how can we rely on such a software as it's not worth to keep preparing returns in two different software just to see if there were any new errors that auto review / edit check did not catch. Most errors we came across were in the corporate tax returns. I hope they fix all their errors and this become reliable and we'll be happy to use it but for now we are trying to find some other reliable software for next season.

Siquard was very helpful and displayed a high level of patience and no-how. He displayed a knowledge base and experience that was proud to receive and solved my problem

I have been using My Tax Prep Office for three years now and I have found the program to be very helpful as well as the support Chat line during a busy tax season. As a CPA, EA and tax attorney I previously used Lacert and ATX tax software and they became too expensive once I semi-retired and slowed my practice down. MTPO is very professional and and they seem to be very aware of security which was serious concern I had. Good Job Guys, Richard P

Please stay away from this software. Their software changed returns by erasing Real Estate Taxes of 42 of my clients over a month, can imaging how many total returns it across the platform this happened too. I discovered the problem early on and made then aware. They ignored me until it was too late. Asked for a refund for the upcoming years that I (very stupidly) paid for in advance. And they are hiding behind their user agreement. Read my attachment below. Any lawyers interested in a Class Action Lawsuit?
