We did many things to get him back including getting the entire neighborhood involved. Unfortunately pets get really far really fast... if it wasn't for this site, we wouldn't have him today. I paid for the woof package because I was unsure if this was a scam but i would have upgraded to reach more people if I had known it was legit. You get a dashboard of all the actions the site took. When I showed up at a vet office to report him lost, they were already posting the PDF flier this site faxed them! The next morning I was leaving a flier at a residence a mile from my home and a man was outside checking his mailbox. When I walked up to hand him the flier, he told me he got the amber alert call the night before. Seriously, I did a lot of other things not mentioned on this review but THIS SITE is what brought him back. Don't hesitate. If you have a lost pet, put an alert out right away!

I totally edited my previous review because it sounded pretty paranoid.

When my cat first went missing, I put up a post on the local Craigslist Lost & Found board to get the word out. Then I started receiving responses from what seemed like concerned individuals recommending that I use MyLostPetAlert.com, but every message had almost the exact same wording even though they were from different addresses, which seemed suspicious. Regardless, I went ahead and paid for the "rural" package, or whatever they call it -- Woof? -- in the hopes that more neighbors, vets, and shelters in my area would be reached than I could manage by myself.

The things I liked about the service are that the basic package is affordable for the average person, and I also liked that they use a voice actor to record the personalized message that is played (by robocall?) over however many neighbors' phones you pay for in a particular service package.

The things I didn't like are that I suspect they use bots to trawl through lost pet posts online to then send what looks like messages from concerned individuals who do not work for the company. If that's the case, I would suggest to them that they just go ahead and be aboveboard about how they represent themselves. "Hi, we're sorry about your missing animal, but we're a service that helps you locate your pet, and this is how you can reach us." And anytime I update my Craigslist posting, I start getting phone calls from *another* location service called PetAmberAlert.com. Where are they getting my phone number if it's never been in my Craigslist posts, nor even my name or any identifying info? See? I sound paranoid, right?

Anyway, if you're desperate and can spare the money, sure, use this service. But I really recommend you do some research online about how to find (and think like) a missing pet -- for example, it turns out calling out your cat's name while searching for it is a bad idea -- and enlist anyone you can find to help you create and distribute flyers and posters to the areas around where your animal was last seen. You might have to keep searching and putting in the effort for weeks or months, but Do. Not. Give. Up. Hope. You will be amazed how resilient a lost animal can be. I was certain my cat had died because he was injured when he got loose, and the weather was so hot and dry for weeks afterward. However, he is alive, but unfortunately still on the loose almost two months later. I've been receiving updates about his whereabouts from local residents, and I hope to trap him soon!

Good luck!

It's a great service
September 12, 2019

The service was great. The phone alerts, notices to vets etc. They did what they said they would. Unfortunately my cat was found dead by my dog when we were out looking for him

Choosing MyLostPetAlert was the best solution to help me with the hard job of finding a blind cat that was lost with 2 others, because I was exhausted and needed help fast. In only 4 hours I was alerted that my blind boy was found! What a blessing this company was for me.

The fliers saved us
August 19, 2019

Really helpful! Without the instant fliers we put in people's mailbox, we wouldn't have found her so quickly or maybe at all. Really appreciate this service!

We wouldn't have found Witty without the social media outreach and kindness of those who cared for her while she was lost. Many people also shared the post which helped immensely - those shares count very much in this situation so our gratitude is with everyone who helped spread the word. Thank you My Lost Pet Alert!

This website gave me so much peace of mind when our cat was lost. We printed flyers and put them all around our neighborhood, and then got calls from neighbors who saw her. The flyers were direct and had all the immediate information people needed. If I had been doing it on my own I would have probably rambled on and forgot to put something important on there. So thankful for this service!

Reunited due to Fax
July 15, 2019

Although my dog was microchipped, the company did not update the information I sent in! Luckily the FAX sent to one of the local ERs was recognized and they reached out to me. My only concern is that the other ER in our city was not included in the FAXes which would have delayed the reunion if she had been taken there.

I am not sure it was super helpful in the rural area we live, but it felt good to be doing something to help bring her home.

Absolutely amazing
July 1, 2019

About 5:30 Friday Raven bolted out the door of car like a bullet and ran straight away. This is always bad but real bad as we just had to put her buddy to sleep about 10 days ago and she has been very sad. I chased but she was moving and I was getting to far from the car. Got the car and started looking at last place I seen. I looked till after midnight. My family was also looking and posting which I am no good at. Little did I know that you people were on the case and most of the time I was looking she had already been picked up and was safe. I have since seen all the posts and communication and was in shock at the efforts put forth by your team. This is awesome and I would like to be a part of helping others in the same situation. Thank You So Much.

We are appreciative of the free service that MyLostPetAlert provides in letting the nearest Veterinarian know that he is missing. We are very grateful to have our lil man back, though MyLostPetAlert was not directly related to his home coming, they were spreading the word reaching out to help bring him home to his family!
