Fun discovering new relatives. Growing up although some of the persons were around, we had no idea we were related. Discovering my grandfather having the name McDougall, it took us a while to find out that his mother never gave him the name of his father that was Rigg, but she gave him her father's name McDougall. A surprise.
Finding ancestors and family all over the world is an amazing experience!

After many years of research in the history of my Family Tree, I realized that MyHeritage is one of the best resources (if not the best). Mainly because of multi-language support that maid possible to "talk" to my distant relatives speaking different languages and living in different countries. Its extensive collection of genealogy-related Data Bases gave me a wealth of information about a known and even the unknown ancestors. This information was a big surprise for my older cousins, who gave me initial and limited information to start my search. So, my journey to the past is never ending...
I think it's a test everyone should take and see that we are not just from one nation and it was really nice to email with someone that we didn't now we were relatives just moments ago.
I've been using My Heritage for years and have found it to be quite sccurate and willing to change what is inaccurate. Recommended!

I've been with My Heritage for a while now and enjoy the looking through the helpful hints they send me. This has helped me yo follow one branch of my tree to 1520. And other branches I hadn't realised, like a French ancestors family before he came to marry a Yorkshire lass and make England his home.

Why do you make it impossible to contact your company when I have a problem where I need human help? Trying to renew my subscription was a nightmare. As far a FAQ's are concerned, somebody just does not get it. Real users have situations that you do not contemplate with your FAQ's! DO NOT misunderstand me when I say that the real live person who finally helped me was a God send. I mean it. He was very good but I thought talking with a live person was never going to happen

I appreciate your continuous support during developing family trees. It is difficult to find all answers we are looking for even if our ancestors left us their multiple notes and memories. Wars and displacement of our ancestors were main reason we are now looking for them all around the world. Unfortunately, they made mistakes naming the same names in families/ villages. Particularly Metryki-Wolyn. Pl can bring wrong info. The same names+surnames (but different families) are common around 100kg region and causing frustration/disputes. It is causing problem when others are copying the tree when this tree is still in "development". My suggestions: contact each other more often and relay on written record of our ancestors. In summary: the tree we make it should be always checked again for correctness and your help is necessary.

Mais avec des informations que j'avais et celles données par certains membres de la famille, cela m'a permis d'avancer sans compter les smartmatches que m'envoyaient MyHeritage. Je suis contente et je peux informer et inviter la famille à aller sur mon site, il y a certaines personnes qui peuvent rectifier ou ajouter une info que je n'ai pas. Sincèrement je suis ravie de pouvoir faire quelque chose qui intéresse des membres de ma famille, on peut échanger nos infos.

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
