Etrange sensation que celle de retrouver + de 1000 ancêtres et de finir par les connaître malgré toutes ces années qui nous séparent. Il est même courant de "sentir" leur histoire, leur quotidien. Il ne s'agit pas d'une simple recherche égocentrée, il s'agit bien de faire revivre ceux qui n'ont plus la parole, de rendre hommage à toutes ces générations qui sont à notre origine. 1599 est la date de naissance de François, mon plus vieil ancêtre, un normand certainement gueux, voire pouilleux, et pourtant j'en suis fière;-) C'est aussi à lui que je dois d'être là.
I have been a subscriber for several years and am nowhere close to where I should be in my research because I'm too distracted by everything going on in the world! However, MyHeritage provides an exciting refuge from the cares of today to delve into the many layers and branches of my family's history. Now, if I just had enough memory to remember how to do everything that's available, I could really get some work done! I'm plodding along, learning a lot and having fun, and I guess that's the whole point!
I have been a MyHeritage member for a few years. Overall, I really like this site and my tree has grown substantially. I love the DNA matches with possible relative connections. Have messages several DNA connections and has been fun learning more about my ancestors. I do wish there was a way to research newspaper articles more effectively as the ones that have been sent to me as a possible record match were a bit difficult to decihpher with the small print. I do enlarge when I need to, but the enlargement is not always on the section I want to read. For the few times I spoke with customer service, they were very nice and helpful. The biggest issue I have with this site is that once I start researching... I am on the computer for hours, LOL! (Not really an issue with MyHeritage, more an issue for me)

Thanks to my ADN test, my family has discovered several family secrets... I'm still looking for the name, family and origin of my father's father but have made some links and happen to know more about my family! Soooo addictive and somehow time consuming but I love it!

My experience is interesting. The matches found where quite a fee. The only thing was it had match me and my nephew together but as 1st cousins. Overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

In all the years I have pursued connecting to my roots, no other platform has approaches MyHeritage: the research tools,. The display options, the ease of use. I especially love the insights it offers into my family's premodern and ancient origens.

My experience has been good. I've made it my favorite hobby to track my family history in such a way that my tree has grown to have around 20,000 related ones. However, I have noticed that Myheritage has not been able, yet, to develop a good tool for repeated relationships and inconsistencies. That's why I haven't given them an outstanding rating. They have tried to solve this problem with the "Tree consistency" tool, but it still needs to be improved to protect us from so many repetitions and unintentional errors.
To a novice, the site can be overwhelming. So many hints can cause me to lag behind in checking the accuracy of the information.

I have thoroughly enjoyed researching my family history. I have discovered things that we did not know about.Amazing information! Other than one issue, which was eventually resolved, I will continue my research.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
