Fast expansion of my family pedigree and reliable information!
I took out a subscription to My Heritage and was happy to find family members online. However, my inexperience with the softwear led me to add many hundreds of family members, without realising that I needed to synch each addition with my tree before adding the next person. This has led me to having multiple persons duplicated unknowingly, but causing confusion within my family tree. I am faced with the probability of deleting most of my tree and starting afresh. I appreciate it is my fault due to my lack of knowledge of the software, but it has spoilt my enjoyment pf an otherwise excellent program. Kind regards Laurie Oliver

Very easy to use, everything makes sense the way it is presented. I like the photo repair option. The video samples are almost spooky. Another fun option.
Vertical searches are good, but horizontal searches not very helpful. So you can look up the parents of someone, but not the siblings. More suggestions/tips on searches would be very helpful.
I love receiving hints on my tree. It's opening up a whole new world of discovery

I accept the info that My Heritage gives me and the next day I get a notice that the names of ancestors they provided have errors in their dates and they cannot be related to another family member. VERY CONFUSING!
I discovered so many things about my family, especially about my mom who never liked to talk about her past. I also learned that I had a much larger family than I thought and that several members of this family reside in the United States. I was also fortunate to read in old newspapers many details about the births and deaths of my ancestors. In short, I have had so many surprises learning certain things and I continue to learn. It's not always easy to make a family tree, but it's still a real pleasure.

Erg leuk om je voorouders in kaart te brengen, vooral met notariele aktes, doop- en overlijdensaktes. De voorouders krijgen een gezicht, een geschiedenis. Vervelend is wel het aantal toegezonden searches van MyHeritage zelf, prachtig om de zaak uit te breiden, maar je eigen werk blijft liggen: het is een soort verslaving deze speurtocht! Aanrader...
Great family finders. They help in correcting false information when shown what needs correction e, g, Child older than mother or death before birth.
I find this most helpful in keeping my tree correct.

I find MyHeritageamazing when I can log in.
Amazing how matches come to me and I can see how they are related. Some amazing connections have come up so i find it very exciting. Bad points, I try to log in tonight and the message says try in 24 hours due to suspicious activity, I do not understand. I have hardly been on the site in the last 2 weeks, I log in and In search and I match and I log off.
I had an e-mail a day or two ago saying am I having trouble logging in, I thought it strange as I did not have any trouble logging in the last time I was on. Not the first time this has happened so for me this is a negative as I have no way of knowing whats going on. When I can log in I love searching, when I cannot log in it is a big negative, where does suspicious activity come into play and then I am blocked for 24 hours!

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
