I have subscribed to My Heritage for several years, it has helped me to build my family tree. I love its helps hints suggestions and the way it finds mistakes. I recommend it but you still need to work at it as there are many family sites that may intersect and not all are well researched.
DO NOT test with MyHeritage or spend money on them if you want fair, accurate, and honest results! They have removed a number of ethnicities such as Korean, Japanese, Mongolia, Italian, Lebanese and more from their database, so if you do have any of these ethnicities in your DNA, don't expect it to show up as those ethnicities. Instead, for example, Korean, Japanese and Mongolian will be classified under 'Chinese', Italian as 'Portuguese' and Lebanese as 'Georgian' and it won't show you which of those removed ethnicities you have in your DNA at all. For example, if you are Japanese hoping to see Japan clearly stated in your results, don't expect it to be there. Instead, they will classify you as 'Chinese' and nothing else. That's all you will see. There will be no ethnic or regional breakdown. Since their latest update, they have been editing and manipulating customers' test results to fit a certain narrative, conflating certain ethnic groups while diminishing or even removing others altogether. There is a lot of underhanded behaviour going on behind the scenes. Please don't trust them! You will be paying for results that don't reflect your true ethnicity. It is particularly bad for people of mixed ethnicity and certain ethnic groups like Asian, African, Spanish, etc. Just do a quick Google search and you will see a lot of recent customer accounts that have reported such inaccuracies in their results from this company. A lot of people, myself included, have results that don't reflect the full picture of our family's ethnicity since they have removed some ethnicities from their database in their latest update.

Last month, I signed up on MyHeritage after seeing a promotion for their popular DNA kit. As part of the sign-up process, I entered my credit card details, and a small verification charge was made – which I found acceptable. I even spent some time on the site, added a few family members, and created a basic family tree. I thought I'd order the DNA kit later, so I left the site and eventually forgot about it… until I noticed a €129 charge on my credit card! What was it for?
Apparently, my free trial had ended and they charged me €129 without any notice or consent. But here's the thing – I never used any of the premium services. I emailed their support team asking for a refund. Instead of a straightforward resolution, I received a call from their representative who started negotiating – first offering a 25% refund, then 50%. It felt like a joke and completely unprofessional. When I got upset, they said they would issue a full refund – but of course, that never happened. No response, no follow-up. In frustration, I deleted my account and all personal data. So here I am, charged €129 for absolutely nothing.
I strongly advise others to stay away.

I really needed to speak with a human to explain the difficulty that I was having and couldn't make AI understand what I needed, so I just closed the program and tried again the following day and got my grandson to help me.

I love working with Myheritage. The information is easy to access and easy to process. The only drawback would be the expense.
. I purchased this September '24. Then this past in April '25. I was can't get in Omni and other options to have come with this package! Over 300.00 in both Sept and April. A gift card that I haven't used! No one contacted me to "combine " both my accounts! Then in May offered the same account. This person did not give a name.
I've tried contacting without success! Today, this rating page gives me hope. Canceling is being considered! But I will wait for a reply! Oh, when I go into looking something up it's showing another charge! I just close it. Frustrating.

I am feeling disillusioned with My Heritage. A few years ago I opted in on your offer of total benefits. Now, I see Old Newspapers and you are asking for an additional subscription. On a fixed income, that would break my budget. Bob
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
