I have been using MyHeritage for many years now and have been very satisfied with most of its features and capabilities, especially its access to data bases that help you build your family tree. As features are refined and added, I'm hoping they will add the ability to access "biography" via their smart phone ap. I've used this cell a great deal to enhance the details of many relatives, and it would be great o be able to access this information when "on the go". Other than that missing feature, MyHeritage is great!

I'm using several heritage management tools. MyHeritage is by far the most convenient. My subscription lets me access all features. The free mode still offers most of them, so a newcomer can create a 100+ node tree and play with the features. Information is properly organized. There are powerful search tools.
The only minor defect I find is reporting, when it comes to 15-20 level trees (I have documented ancestors from early 1400). Importing and exporting in GEDCOM, lets exchange with third party tools, and, in my case, I can use my own database, save data from MyHeritage and generate my own reports.
Highly recommended solution. You will not face the nasty "Only for premium" banner that almost all others exhibit. They put the carrot in front of you, but a glass wall in between.
Just got hit with monthly price, 41.00 wow. I did not expect such a high charge, will consider cancellation.
The idea of the program is great. I found it difficult to get a refund, after I paid for the upgraded version and was charged also for data. I didn't request data. It took a whole month to obtain my refund after having to speak with AI Eve, at least 3-4 times.

I find it annoying that when I've entered a location in the uk and clearly state that the town or village is in the UK the results from the search contain mostly people that lived in the USA

I had a problem with one of My Heritage's services. I emailed about my issue. An answer was promptly returned telling me that I would be contacted within the next couple of days to resolve the matter. I was actually surprised to get a phone call within from a representative that very day. We successfully resolved the issue even better than I expected.

The data accuracy has been diminished during the past year, the Swedish naming rules are not understood, you can't just go by similar names as surnames were used as the fathers first name and then son if he was the son and dotter if it was the daughter. These rules changed at the beginning of the last century.
As a member for over 7 years, I have very much enjoyed the creation of my family tree, and the ability to share information with family members. I especially enjoy the feature that allows me to print Relationship Reports. My 33-year-old grandson has also participated, and I hope to pass my subscription on to him one day. He helped me to confirm his relationship to Earnest Hemingway! Recently, however, I have lost the ability to find records that I could in the past. One source being High School Yearbooks. That used to be a real source of information for the most recent generations. I would like to have the Omni subscription, but do not believe it is worth the cost. It is also very irritating to have newspaper sources pop up, but you cannot open them. Rather, the warning/advertisement appears stating that you may have to pay up if you want the information. Each year I seemed to have access to more information than the last until 2024. Now I am constantly disappointed when I try to do research.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
