I have been using My Family Heritage for some years now and after some teething issues at the beginning, now find the program quite user friendly. If I had any concerns it would be about the charges and levels of membership. I would like to see maybe another level below Premier Plus as I have just about finished my direct family tree but still like to be able to use some of the "smart tools".
The support staff go beyond what is normally expected and receive. They have answered all of my concerns within 24 hrs and always with a "user friendly" solution, thanks.
Ich benutze "myheritage" schon seit Längerem. Die Seiten sind sehr gut aufgegliedert und einfach zu bedienen. Auch der Stammbaum ist leicht zu erstellen (eigentlich schon selbsterklärend) und durch den möglichen Kontakt zu anderen Mitgliedern hat man die Möglichkeit Familienmitglieder zu finden. Eine sehr gute Alternative zu: 1.: Stammbäumen auf Papier (hier fehlt irgendwann schlicht der Platz) und 2.: kostenintensiven Urkunden der jew. Stadtarchive.
I think MyHeritage is misleading. It says it's free but then only allows you to add 200 names before you have to pay them money. If I had known they were going to charge to use what they had advertised as a free website I would not have wasted my time adding ancestors. I was not warned about what it would cost until I had added 188 names. This was a lot of work on my part as I had added not only information but photos as well. They need to state up front what they are charging to use their site.
I was not able to open my project in the Family Tree Builder software.
I got all help I needed from the support "Laura". After some mail I could work in my project again.

I love the site but what drives me crazy are all the confirmations which I seem to do over and over! I wish that I could only do it once or twice... even my hand gets stiff!
I have been using this site for over 10 years and extremely pleased with it. I have taken one side of my family back to the 800's and one side of my wife's family back to the 300's. The tools they have are terrific. They will send e-mails with possible ancestors in other family trees and you have the opportunity to check out the accuracy before expanding your tree. On my wife's side we were able to make contact with a six times removed cousin who lives in Germany, while we live in the U.S. Her great uncle was the one that moved to the U.S. With the information we have received we were able to go to Ellis Island and find the card where the family came through on there way to Colorado. An excellent site that I would recommend for anyone wanting to learn their ancestry.
I've used My Heritage for a few years now and considered myself reasonably au-fait with the system - until I found I had been charged twice for upgrading!
I'm still not too sure about what went wrong, or what I did, but as an 'old codger' I think I might be forgiven for not fully understanding the complexities of computers and their programs.
My initial contact with Support via a young lady named Sharon, was very positive and was followed by a 'phone call from her to sort out my problems which she did very quickly. Not a local call either - she's in Israel!

I created a problem with my Family Tree when I changed my email address. I'm not the sort of person to seek help, but on this occasion I did and how delighted I was with the support I received from My Heritage. The problem was solved quickly and emails received were helpful. Thank you.
While I agree that their service may appear expensive, but when I compare them to other similar Family Tree Builder sites that I have tried, they come out on top. I therefore have no problem with what I have paid to date. It like buying a car, the best make and model will always cost more.
MyHeritage has always responded to my queries fast and no problem that I have experienced has remained unsolved to date.
For me and my family it is first class and the information I found through them about my family history has been absolutely amazing... some details I had searched for years without any success but a short time after joining MyHeritage I found exactly what I had been looking for. Initially I thought myheritage.com was a great site, better than ancestry.com. However I contacted them within 3 days of signing up to cancel, received an email from their customer service that I would receive a refund of the charge for a premium account (I was trying to sign up for data, not premium). That was over 4 months ago. I recently resent their email back to them where they indicated a refund would be sent and no reply. I will never purchase any service from them again. I have discontinued building our family tree through them.

They helped me right away without trouble and I didn't have to wait more than a day to get an answer. Within three days my problem was solved. That's how services are supposed to be.
J'utilise ce site comme complément d'un logiciel de généalogie, uniquement pour rendre visible l'arbre généalogique aux membres de ma famille. Il est intéressant et assez complet, mais à mon goût il n'est pas suffisamment personnalisable.
De plus, je suis toujours embêté quand on me propose des mises à niveau supérieures en réclamant toujours plus d'argent.

I've just started building my family tree on Myheritage - the user interface is very easy. I had an issue arise and it was quickly corrected for me and answered via email. Very prompt and thorough!
Myheritage does have a lot of expensive subscriptions though - that's the only negative I've found so far.
My Heritage program has been fun listing my ancestors and building my family tree.
When help is needed the support team is wonderful and they have both online information and they offer personal answers quickly as well. Thank you for your support, My Heritage team.
Love being able to track my ancestors. Especially appreciate the smart matches which does so much work for you. Also very responsive customer service.

The first few years I was a member and the base but always had a good service. Never remained unanswered.
Starting this year, I am now Premiummtiglied and therefore also the service has improved.
It is in principle promised what and so I could expand from 87 to now 460 the number of people in my family tree from September to November 2015th

I am "electronically challenged" but the Support Team at MyHeritage.com and in particular, Shimon, helped me resolve the problem, I had created for myself, very easily.
Service is surprisingly good. When I run into something I can't handle, they get back to me promptly and politely.
I wish there were a way their computers could take a specific match and put all matches on one page to compare with mine. I am simply overwhelmed with matches for the same person(s) in my tree. For example; Could all matches with the name "Jane Doe" be listed together and all confirmed or rejected at one time?
I am thinking about DNA testing, but want to go back the male line. My brother is willing but I am worried about privacy issues.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

Please note that with a free plan, you have less storage capacity and you will not be able to make use of all the resources that are available on MyHeritage, such as Smart Matches and Instant Discoveries.
