It´s very interesting to get to know a little more about your background, which the DNA test provided, but I had expected more details. If you want to know more you have to pay more, and it will be quite expensive in the end.

I have been a member of MyHeritage for almost a year and have never had to call for help until today. Each time I loggen in it showed my photo and information but said I was not a member. I did wait on line for a very long time till it was my turn. The support technician asked me my problem and had it fixed in a couple of minutes. He stayed on line while I logged out and back in again to make sure everything was ok. It was. Thank you!

Terrible

I had to call back three times about the same issue and it still isn't resolved. They said they would get back to me and it's been two days! I haven't heard anything!

I did my DNA and was shock by the results, I may agree with 60 % of it but what struck me the most was the British/Irish descendant ( about 23 %)... the reason I question this part is because I moved to the UK 6 years ago and never had any links with this country as I was born in South America, I have been trying to get an answer from My Heritage but up to now I have no answer... I have sent my kit from the UK so I was wondering if this has something to do with it. Can someone help please, thanks

Hi Edgard,

It is understandable to be curious about your DNA results when 23% of your ethnicity report shows you British/Irish and you were born in South America.
It is because of this very question, we offer research tools such as DNA matching, Ancestral surnames and family tree research to help you understand your family story.
Sending your DNA vile from the UK has very little influence on your results in regards to your question. When our lab receives a DNA sample (i. E. the two vials with the swabs) our lab technicians do not review your Myheritage tree, name, address or location where you are sending your vile from.
Our lab will only scan the DNA kit's code in order to link the raw DNA results to your Myheritage profile so you get the results.

I'd like to give you more information on how to use all of our research tools available to you and how they are integrated with DNA research.

My only frustration was trying to get thru to get help. The 3 hour difference is sometimes very inconvenient. However, once I got to tech support I had all the help I needed. The call ended being a 3-way call because my husband also came on the line. Our help made everything smooth and effortless. Thank you, thank you, Thank you, Judy and Jerry May

MyHeritage Family Tree Builder is a program for discovering your family tree and your family roots. I have used this program for several years and invested a lot of time in what has now become a hobby. Substantial quantities of documents, photographs and other information are accumulated over the years so there is a tendency to panic when it all disappears. This happened to me last week. Thank heaven for MyHeritage Support. The problem was overcome and I was left feeling very greatful.

I've been on this site since December 15,2017 and I've found some information about my family. Since I've upgraded it to premium it's been off the charts. I know some things may not add up right but it's because some don't have the correct information. Also some people may not know that they may have a family book published out there somewhere. I know because I found mine but before I bought it I checked it out at the library. Most libraries will request it from that other library even if it's in another state. Happy family hunting.

Excellent Tech Spt

I have called Tech Spt several times as I learned how to navigate and use My Heritage. Every time the support personnel have been fully informed and extremely helpful. As a result, I have been able to reliably expand my tree well back into the 1700s. Good product in spite of a couple of the reviews below. My Heritage is just like any other s/w, if you do not learn how to use it, it will not work well.

It can happen that an update of a program crashes. This was the case some months ago with my personal computer. The consequences was that I was not able to load my Family Tree Builder program. By given the Support Team the best background information I could find, they could present me a solution how to overcome the problem in a very short time. Following the steps and than testing it, the result was great it worked perfect and it still does up to now, no problems. The company has top engineers at her disposal. They helped me perfect.

Avoid at all cost

Do not use this website to look at your history, seek alternatives.
There is a lack of consistency with their materials they charge you after cancelling your "free trial" and support for this website is extremely lacklustre. Beware if you have any issues with this site they will not assist

Also, one may cancel a free trial at any time during the free trial period from the My Purchases page and incur no charge.

It is also important to know that as well that our terms and conditions clearly read that "If you are not satisfied with your purchased plan you may request a full refund by contacting Customer Support within thirty (30) days of the initial purchase date of the subscription".

My experience with MyHeritage was exceptional. The results were emailed within the indicated timeframe, and the results were clearly, and interestingly presented.
I was surprised, despite a somewhat vague family oral tradition, to discover
That I had some Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. When I called in to inquire about this
Connection Maya, a MyHeritage geneticist, was very helpful, and friendly. This experience has led me to want to do additional DNA testing to further refine matches. I would like to see if there are any connections between the Ashkenazi and Eastern European ancestry. Overall great experience.

I had a question about GENI and Marcus was very helpful in resolving my problem. I read some of the negative reviews and am surprised at the remarks. I have found MyHeritage very accurate.

For the person with the Hungarian DNA problem you need to better understand how DNA is passed down. My daughter's DNA, not MyHeritage, shows only 1% native American and we have a proven line to a native American heritage.

Saw an ad on facebook for this site, and started the application process. It asked for a phone number to call to confirm membership, and as I did not have service at my house, I did not use complete the application. So imagine my suprise when I found i was charged full a year's worth of service. And no refund when I told them I never finished filling out the application. I was pretty much told well sucks to be you. 100% Scam don't waste your time. This company is utter shut. I am so annoyed to have been scammed out of money for a site I have never used.

I can assure you that we never aim to scam anyone and your feedback is very important to us.

In completing a purchase we need one to fill out the credit card details but just for contact reasons, one is prompted to confirm their telephone number.
But confirming a telephone number doesn't necessarily confirm the purchase, it only confirms a user's contact information.
Confirming a purchase is actually done when receiving an automatic e-mail sent to your e-mail address once you finish filling out your credit card details for the subscription.

It is also important to know that as well that our terms and conditions clearly read that "If you are not satisfied with your purchased plan you may request a full refund by contacting Customer Support within thirty (30) days of the initial purchase date of the subscription"

Therefore, please e-mail me at [email protected] so I may see about refunding your order by all means.

I wish I had read the reviews before sending my DNA sample to MyHeritage. I just received my results and they could not be more far off or more cursory. Three blobs on a map with percentages, but no explanation or detail whatsoever. I have 250 years of documented Hungarian ancestry, with many close relatives still living there. My results? 0% Hungarian, 0% East European. 100% bogus!

I am so sorry to hear about your poor DNA kit purchase experience so far with MyHeritage.

Your feedback is important to us as we are continuously working on our algorithms and after the initial launch of the Ethnicity Estimate Beta, we have documented all feedback from our users to improve and refine our current model.

We are still in the process of data analysis and we are still receiving and analyzing DNA samples for the MyHeritage Founder Population project. Once we will have analyzed most of the DNA samples for the different ethnicities, we will gradually add many more supported ethnicities in the MyHeritage Ethnicity Estimate. So, in other words, as the nature of DNA research grows, so will more precise ethnicity results widen in our new model for all of the various DNA strands found all over the world.

You will be assured to know that our research tools such as Smart matching and Instant Discoveries are now integrated with ones DNA results and have already been proven to be a very dynamic tool to research family history. This includes “ancestral surname” research and “DNA matching”.
