It´s very interesting to get to know a little more about your background, which the DNA test provided, but I had expected more details. If you want to know more you have to pay more, and it will be quite expensive in the end.
I have been a member of MyHeritage for almost a year and have never had to call for help until today. Each time I loggen in it showed my photo and information but said I was not a member. I did wait on line for a very long time till it was my turn. The support technician asked me my problem and had it fixed in a couple of minutes. He stayed on line while I logged out and back in again to make sure everything was ok. It was. Thank you!
I had to call back three times about the same issue and it still isn't resolved. They said they would get back to me and it's been two days! I haven't heard anything!
I did my DNA and was shock by the results, I may agree with 60 % of it but what struck me the most was the British/Irish descendant ( about 23 %)... the reason I question this part is because I moved to the UK 6 years ago and never had any links with this country as I was born in South America, I have been trying to get an answer from My Heritage but up to now I have no answer... I have sent my kit from the UK so I was wondering if this has something to do with it. Can someone help please, thanks

It is understandable to be curious about your DNA results when 23% of your ethnicity report shows you British/Irish and you were born in South America.
It is because of this very question, we offer research tools such as DNA matching, Ancestral surnames and family tree research to help you understand your family story.
Sending your DNA vile from the UK has very little influence on your results in regards to your question. When our lab receives a DNA sample (i. E. the two vials with the swabs) our lab technicians do not review your Myheritage tree, name, address or location where you are sending your vile from.
Our lab will only scan the DNA kit's code in order to link the raw DNA results to your Myheritage profile so you get the results.

Such a great way to learn for me is to talk instead of reading as I'm impatient and want to get right to it. Thank you for so much help.
My only frustration was trying to get thru to get help. The 3 hour difference is sometimes very inconvenient. However, once I got to tech support I had all the help I needed. MyHeritage Family Tree Builder is a program for discovering your family tree and your family roots. I have used this program for several years and invested a lot of time in what has now become a hobby. Substantial quantities of documents, photographs and other information are accumulated over the years so there is a tendency to panic when it all disappears. This happened to me last week. Thank heaven for MyHeritage Support. The problem was overcome and I was left feeling very greatful.
Melissa was very helpful, friendly and competent in dealing with my question. She explained why I hadn't been able to access my DNA report and that I would be getting it soon.
I've been on this site since December 15,2017 and I've found some information about my family. Since I've upgraded it to premium it's been off the charts. I know some things may not add up right but it's because some don't have the correct information. Also some people may not know that they may have a family book published out there somewhere. I know because I found mine but before I bought it I checked it out at the library. Most libraries will request it from that other library even if it's in another state. Happy family hunting.

I have called Tech Spt several times as I learned how to navigate and use My Heritage. Every time the support personnel have been fully informed and extremely helpful. As a result, I have been able to reliably expand my tree well back into the 1700s. Good product in spite of a couple of the reviews below. My Heritage is just like any other s/w, if you do not learn how to use it, it will not work well.

It can happen that an update of a program crashes. This was the case some months ago with my personal computer. The consequences was that I was not able to load my Family Tree Builder program. By given the Support Team the best background information I could find, they could present me a solution how to overcome the problem in a very short time. Following the steps and than testing it, the result was great it worked perfect and it still does up to now, no problems. The company has top engineers at her disposal. They helped me perfect.
Do not use this website to look at your history, seek alternatives.
There is a lack of consistency with their materials they charge you after cancelling your "free trial" and support for this website is extremely lacklustre. Beware if you have any issues with this site they will not assist

For the person with the Hungarian DNA problem you need to better understand how DNA is passed down. My daughter's DNA, not MyHeritage, shows only 1% native American and we have a proven line to a native American heritage.

Saw an ad on facebook for this site, and started the application process. It asked for a phone number to call to confirm membership, and as I did not have service at my house, I did not use complete the application. So imagine my suprise when I found i was charged full a year's worth of service. And no refund when I told them I never finished filling out the application. I was pretty much told well sucks to be you. 100% Scam don't waste your time. This company is utter shut. I am so annoyed to have been scammed out of money for a site I have never used.

In completing a purchase we need one to fill out the credit card details but just for contact reasons, one is prompted to confirm their telephone number.
But confirming a telephone number doesn't necessarily confirm the purchase, it only confirms a user's contact information.
Confirming a purchase is actually done when receiving an automatic e-mail sent to your e-mail address once you finish filling out your credit card details for the subscription.

I wish I had read the reviews before sending my DNA sample to MyHeritage. I just received my results and they could not be more far off or more cursory. Three blobs on a map with percentages, but no explanation or detail whatsoever. I have 250 years of documented Hungarian ancestry, with many close relatives still living there. My results? 0% Hungarian, 0% East European. 100% bogus!

Your feedback is important to us as we are continuously working on our algorithms and after the initial launch of the Ethnicity Estimate Beta, we have documented all feedback from our users to improve and refine our current model.
We are still in the process of data analysis and we are still receiving and analyzing DNA samples for the MyHeritage Founder Population project. Once we will have analyzed most of the DNA samples for the different ethnicities, we will gradually add many more supported ethnicities in the MyHeritage Ethnicity Estimate. So, in other words, as the nature of DNA research grows, so will more precise ethnicity results widen in our new model for all of the various DNA strands found all over the world.

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
