Something went wrong in the cancellation of my subscription and MyHeritage started to debit my credit card for a full year. The man in the support was helpful though and gave me a refund of the fee.
Easy to create a tree but more difficult to handle it and do things with it. That's why I'm glad It's easy to contact the support and get there help.
I had a glitch that I was unable to solve on my own. It did take two calls over two days to resolve. The second call may have been needed because of confusion at my end; never-the-less, the MyHeritage representatives were calm, friendly, professional and most of all my problem was solved.
My kit took 5 months to arrive and the results weren't entirely accurate. The information from my heritage website was awful and made me upload my information to a third party website to actually even SEE what my results were. Don't buy through this company. Stick with NatGeo.
Megan Sheehan from MyHeritage based in Ireland thoroughly and patiently answered all of my questions about my DNA results. I was very pleased with the timely and interesting results. However, my biggest question was about my Native American DNA. I was disappointed that MyHeritage does not have a data base for Native Americans. PBH

It seems that My Heritage has ALOT of people coming from the same places... I think they are ripping people off left and right. Even people who have paid alot to get their TRUE DNA matches are getting the same wrong crap from My Heritage.
I have Cherokee Native American on my mothers side, 100% from her mother. I have Choctaw Native American on my fathers side, 100% from his great grandparents on his mothers side. Yet, my results say I have 0% Native American. I do have 2.3% Nigerian though, that makes sense as the Cherokee Nation adopted Black slaves into their tribe. I keep reading about My Heritage's explanation about percentages from relative to relative being why some people can have some of their relative's genes while others do not. BULLPUCKEY!
I am kicking myself for paying for this... but at least I got the holiday deal. I know where I came from and this makes no difference at all. I have proof of my genes. And NONE of them come from Scandinavia!
I was unable to open the Family Tree Builder app after upgrading the operating system of my Mac. I contacted the help department of MyHeritage and after waiting 11 days they gave me a link to download the latest version of the app. It worked perfectly!

I loved having the complete package so I could access a lot of information. I was amazed at how much I could find out about relatives I never knew I had. Kinda takes you into another time as you imagine how they lived.
My kit was lost in the mail. I mailed it over a month ago, they never received it. They are sending me another one free! Great consumer service.

I've been informed today by Paypal that £127 has been paid as a subscription renewal despite sending numerous messages that I do not want to renew.
I've also attempted to phone customer support unsuccessfully.
I didn't want the initial subscription and have never used it.

MyHeritage informs all members of the annual charge and its price on the automatic email that is sent out after you enroll in the membership and before every renewal.
Also, one may view the status or cancel an annual subscription at any time online when logging into MyHeritage from the My Purchases page and incur no annual charge.
It seems you were unaware of this and I'd like to help you receive a refund as soon as possible.

I had made a mistake putting in a wrong e mail and the agent corrected it and showed me how I could correct it in the future. I was very pleased with the service.
It was easy to navigate Myheritages phone tree and my call was answered promptly by Natalie. She asked appropriate security questions and then asked me to describe my problem. She quickly identified the source of my problem and corrected it. She was both very pleasant and competent.
Habe gestern zum ersten mal und heute ein weiteres mal Kontakt zum Support gehabt und würde es jeder Zeit wieder tun. Die beiden Damen haben sehr gut erklärt und haben sich auch Zeit genommen um auf meine Probleme einzugehen. Habe auch schon Kontakt mit dem Support anderer Firmen gehabt aber so kompetent im Verhältnis zu Zeit und Preis war bisher keine. Macht weiter so.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

It is true that DNA is not found to be evenly divided throughout the higher generations (Grandparents and higher) and some of your family can inherit more of a specific ethnicity than others. One may inherit more European DNA than Native American DNA depending on how far back your Native American ancestor is from you.
In addition, many of the Native American Tribes have not been a part of the sampling used to build reference populations in general. Within the United States alone, there are over 562 recognized Native American tribes, communities and Native villages. Your concern is a fairly common one and there is a lot of literature on it online.
That being said, I understand that you are trying to pinpoint the exact location that matches your research or family story. This can be done by utilizing the research tools available to you such as building your own family tree and finding comparable matches whether they be Genealogy or DNA matches.
