My family tree side had expired. The customer support person was easy to talk to and helpful. She set up a renewal of the site and implemented in 60 seconds. Very Impressive!

I ordered a kit for my sister and I, we submitted/mailed the same day. I received email notifications and progress, yet my sister did not. I got my results and sis hadn't even received confirmation, then couldn't get back into her website. The associate on the line was cheerful, kind and helpful. I had kit numbers so she was able to find my sisters, but of course, couldn't release any information. I asked if she would confirm the email on record and it was typo in the email. So my sister will be calling in to get everything straightened out on her end. Wish all client services were as nice as this one!
It is uncomplicated, the company works fast and has a friendly customer service. All in all, I can't complain.

My Heritage can no longer be reached by telephone in the Netherlands and provides very poor support, despite the most expensive subscription.

When I opened my heritage I had accidentally put in my dad's DNA and so when I add my dad dna so I thought into my account I came to find out that we had exact outcome and told me that my dad was my twin so I was thinking I might of put my dad's DNA instead of mine, and so I tried to put my correct DNA info but it would take forever to load so I called support group and was very patient and friendly and she helped me in less than 2mins and I felt so much better Thank you again and have a nice day!
Not complete with Indian (Cherokee) heritage. I was not pleased with the results. The company needs to get cooperation from the Indian tribes in the US to complete the true DNA results
With reference to MyHeritage ticket #************** the problem I had been submitting for 15 months was eventually brilliantly identified and explained.
Unluckily, an easy solution seems to be unaivailable.
In addition, I didn't get any information about some commercial issues I had submitted, too, this time. I suppose It is other people's task.
My tech problems where answered and repaired within 12 hours. Thank you My Heritage, you where patient with my explanation and quick to send me a reply to repair the problem. Samuel was polite and very efficient. I will stay with MyHeritage if I can continue to afford it.
I have been using MyHeritage for my family documentation for more than 5 years now and I love it very much. I keep using and updating my tree, finding new matches, and adding more and more info and details about my family. They give a very good service, professional and kind whenever I need them. And I feel very safe about my tree using their service. I highly recommend it.
I called Myheritage twice last week regarding 2 different issues. Both issues were solved quickly & professionally. Regarding my ethnicity estimate; I tested with both Ancestry & Myheritage. Ancestry's results were very broad. Example, they showed me 83% Great Britain, 8% Scandinavian. Myheritage broke that down to 50% Scandinavian (paternal grandmother from Sweden, great grandmother from Norway, maternal unknown), English 16.2%, Irish Scottish Welsh 14.8%, and Finnish 1.5%. (Not my complete results). Based on personal knowledge & paper trail, Myheritage is more accurate. Finally I want to say a big Thank You to Maor, one of Myheritage`S support team members who has gone above & beyond helping me with my DNA research questions. I highly recommend Myheritage.

Since my grandparents on my mother's side were from England, I expected to have some Great Britain ethnicity. My Heritage DNA results had zero per cent for Great Britain. I wrote My Heritage of the error, thinking they'd offer to retest me free of charge. No offer came, so I bought Ancestry DNA kit to see what results I'd get from them. I came out with 77% Great Britain. I wrote My Heritage again about what I did and the results. They wrote back, "As more people will take the DNA test, the better our database will get and the more accurate our results will be." They are selling a product not perfected, waiting for more paying participants to make it more accurate. Knowing a lot about my background, Ancestry DNA results are definitely more accurate than My Heritage. Do Not buy My Heritage DNA unless you have money to spare!

I'm sorry to find your low star review and that you are disappointed with your DNA results.
It is true to consider the reason why an ethnicity estimate would differ when your DNA is calculated by two different companies that most likely process and measure your raw DNA results in a different way using the various processing methods and algorithms that are used.
With the MyHeritage test, as with some other autosomal tests, we cover about 700,000 SNPs. However, this does not mean that each DNA test necessarily covers the exact same SNPs. This means that although the DNA sample could be the same, we simply tested different bits of it, which could result in a different outcome. Although these differences may be small, it could have an impact on how the estimate is calculated and in some cases will result in the differences you quote.
Also, the DNA of neighboring nations such as England may have populations with similar DNA. This occurs mainly because of the long history the bordering nations have with each other and how DNA is not divided equally upon higher generations of grandparents. Your DNA is indeed compared to 42 references but in some cases, for some DNA it is difficult to build a distinct profile for Great Britain, Ireland and Scandinavian countries, as those are admixed with Western European DNA. Anglo-Saxon people settled the British Isles, and they were comprised of Germanic tribes ultimately.
That said, you may still research your DNA further by utilizing the research tools available to you such as building your own family tree and finding comparable matches whether they be Genealogy or DNA matches.

Great site for people who want to build a family tree. I use the free account, which is very good already. I can create my Family Tree very wisely, with the help of tutorials, and blanks to be filled. Also, there is a function which searches for similar surnames, because in the past it was common to occur mistakes in writing them.
Benjamin and Gerrard helped me buying the DNA kits.

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry to read of your disappointment with your ethnicity estimate results.
I must clarify that your DNA Ethnicity Estimate's percentages do not mean you do not have a specific Native American heritage. Indeed, this tends to be a very common issue with many people trying to research their Native American heritage through DNA and there is much literature on the subject found in various forums online.
I'd like to clarify that while you indeed have Native American ancestry, this does not necessarily mean that this ancestry is included in your DNA and might therefore not appear in your Ethnicity Estimate.
The reason being is mainly because of how DNA is inherited. Each of us inherits about 50% DNA from our mother and 50% from our father. However, the percentages of DNA received from grandparents and further back are rarely divided evenly. Therefore, you don’t necessarily inherit the DNA of a given ancestor throughout the generations that have passed.
Since your ancestors’ DNA is not passed evenly to their descendants, one grandparent might have passed on 3% of his/her DNA to his great-grandchild, while another great-grandparent may have passed on 11%.
For example, if you have a Native American great-grandmother, you might have inherited such a small amount of her Native American DNA that it cannot be traced in a DNA test.
In addition, though you might have Native American DNA, it might belong to a tribe that is not part of the sampling used to build our Ethnicity Estimate. There are more than 500 recognized tribes which are ethnically, culturally and linguistically diverse.
However, the majority of these tribes have not contributed their DNA for research purposes which would allow science to establish better ethnicity models. Therefore, the fact that we did not find Native American DNA in your sample does not mean that you are not Native American.
If your specific Native American ethnicity does not appear in the Ethnicity Estimate, you might also consider testing one of your parents or grandparents as it is more likely that Native American DNA will be traced in the generations closer to the Native American ancestor.
In the meantime, Information on matching Native American DNA with yours along with new and exciting information can always be found along with your estimate by utilizing the research tools available to you such as building your own family tree and finding comparable matches whether they be through Genealogy or DNA matches.
